Chapter 3:

A/N Kirara thinking in fire cat form Hi everyone did I mention that this is my second fanfiction? Please review, but please no flamesļ

It was late in the evening (the beginning of this chapter takes place the same time Sesshoumaru was at his castle) Kohaku and Kirara were currently in a human village that sat just by the edge of the Western Lands. They just finish exterminating a lesser hebi (snake) youkai. Kohuku weapon was dirty and the blade was a bit dull, so he wanted to by a sharpener for his weapon as well as other supplies for the road. He would have stayed in the village over night, but he knew they didn¡¦t take to kindly to youkai. When the head of the village offered him a place to stay, but refused to take in Kirara, he decided that this was not a place he wanted to hang around. He would not send her out into the forest by herself while he was warm and comfortable. Even though he knew she was in heat and would be leaving his side soon for, he did not want it to look like he shun her in front of the rude man. He knew Kirara was a good and loyal companion; therefore he would not abandon her. In fact since they have been traveling together, the only times they were far away from each other was when Kirara¡¦s mating season started in the spring.

After receiving his payment for their services provided from the head master Kohaku was told:

¡§Here are your coins, since you refuse to stay here without your foul pet youkai, take it and leave.¡¨ He said in a harsh tone.

Kirara (in her smaller form) hissed at him as the hairs on the back of her neck stood up and her body tensed. The head master of the village dropped the money stepping back from the angry feline. This had been her first day of her annual heat and she was more touchy then usual. Especially since she is ten times hotter then she usually is during her heat and the tenderness of her skin seems to increase by the hour. Not to mention the lower part of her abdomen has been cramping.

Ungrateful human, we save his village and this is how he shows his appreciation, I would love to make him pay for that remark by clawing his eyes out.

Kirara thought as she was still hissing at the head master. Kirara is usually sweet, helpful and loyal youkai. She was only fierce during battle. Usually insults like that don¡¦t bother her, but she was already feeling like crap and the boorish jerk was not helping.

Kohaku felt how hot see was and saw how angry she was by the man words. He knew she was in heat and has a low tolerance for insults. ¡¥Although as far as I know she has never been this hot before, I hope she isn¡¦t sick.¡¦ He thought with worry. He knew a lot about youkai, but not everything (one of those things being that fire cats get really hot like this when they hit their first heat and take on a humanoid shape.) He was angry as well, but he decided to try and calm her down before he gave the crude head master a piece of his mind (If Kirara was sick he didn¡¦t want her agitated even further from being upset. ¡§Shhh." Calm down Kirara don¡¦t worry we won¡¦t have to be here for long.¡¨ He said as he petted Kirara on the head. He knew this always calmed her down. She started purring as she thought:

This feels sooooooo good. Just having someone touch me relieves the ache of my heat. My desire to mate is so strong that it¡¦s taking my breath away. The only youkai I desired has long been dead. I have been in heat since his death, but I never felt such a strong need to mate. Unusually I would leave and go some where to be alone until it wears off. Something is different about this heat though. My scent is very sweet and¡Kand I think it¡¦s because I gaining my humanoid form. That¡¦s why the symptoms are so much worst then usual. It appears I will have to find a¡Kpartner to relieve my symptoms. I wonder what I will look like¡K

She continues to think as she purrs in contentment deciding to ignore the rude man comment and think about her humanoid form and who her partner will be. Then Kohaku glared at the man and says:

¡§With all do respect sir she is not my ¡¥pet¡¦ nor is she ¡¥foul¡¦, she is my companion and my family. She saved my life more times then I can count. Considering she helped do the same for your village today you could at least so a little gratitude.¡¨

¡§Gratitude?¡¨ The man sneered.

¡§Yes gratitude, she just killed one of her own kind to protect your people, so next time you decide to judge someone, you should look at yourself. Surely there are a few things you need to work on like your closed minded way of thinking and your ungrateful attitude. Kirara smiles an inner smile and thinks:

¡§Kohaku may still be a young, but he has had a lot of life experience. He is wise beyond his years. Thank you for defending my honor.¡¨ She thought with appreciation.

Some of the other villagers were observing the exchange as it occurred. Other villagers were tending to their children or working in their fields.

The man could say nothing but he picked up the bag of coins, handed it to Kohaku and said: ¡§Take your money and go.¡¨ He said with an embrassed and angry tone (he didn¡¦t like someone who was barely grown putting him in check).

Kohaku frowned at the man and turn around to leave. He decided it was best to leave now, Kirara was really hot and he was not going to ask to use their stream. He wanted to get Kirara away from them in into a cool bath far away (even thought Kirara may not like it too much, she is a cat and cats hate water). As they left the area of the small village and entered the forest (which surrounded the outskirts of the village) Kirara picked up the scent of birds, ravens and kites (birds of prey) be exact. Since her scent of smell wasn¡¦t as strong as an Inu youkai, it took her a little longer to pick up the scent.

What is that, it smells like a flock of karasu and. Kirara hops out of Kohaku hands turns around and yowls at the flock of birds getting ready to land in the same village they just left. She transforms into her larger form sensing danger from the youkai. Even though the head master didn¡¦t welcome her she will still protect them, besides she sense something that was not right with the youkai.

¡§What wrong Kirara?¡¨ Kohaku ask as he turned around and looked towards the village.

Kirrara yowls again as she thinks ¡§Those Karasu youkai look familiar¡Kwhere have I seen them before? She thinks as she looks at the five large youkai with black wings and talon like hands. The four that hopped of the large crows look like body guards (They flew a long way from East to West and didn¡¦t feel like using their own wings). They helped the last one off and she took of her cloak revealing her eerie black eyes with red pupils, jet black hair that was braided and reached the small of her back. She was wearing a black kimono with red leaves on it. She had the picture of a black raven on the left side of her face. She also had wings that adored her back but unlike the other karasu the inner portion of her wings were blood red indicating royal blood. Kirara also notice an unusual belt around her waist with had a square black jewel in the middle of it. Inside the jewel it looked like smoke was moving as if it had a mind of its own. The woman was very beautiful on the outside, but pure evil on the inside.

Kirara thinks I know her that evil bitch; she is the one who¡K

¡§YOUKAI!¡¨ One of the villager shouted as most of the village scattered in different directions into the surrounding foliage to find a place to hide. Screams of terror were heard as they fled for their lives. The rest of the villagers ready themselves for battle.

Kurorasu was already frustrated because of the long trip to the Western Lands. But what pissed her off the most was the fact that Sesshoumaru kept rejecting her, the most beautiful youkai to have ever lived (yeah very stuck up and spoiled). Being the Arrogant, brash, reckless creature she is, she decided to pay the daiyoukai a visit and bug the hell out of him until he ¡¥came to his senses¡¦ and took her as a mate. She thought the daiyoukai would not harm her because it may start a war between the Eastern and Western Lands. (She doesn¡¦t know Sesshoumaru as well as she thought. He did not like being controlled).Her father forbid her to go because he knew the Inu youkai reputation. The foolish woman even had the gull to send him a letter telling him that she was coming onto HIS lands to have a ¡¥chat¡¦ with him about their nonexistent relationship. Since her messenger got delayed for some reason, the letter arrived late (like right before she entered his territory.)

One of the villagers said ¡§Leave our home youkai your kind are not welcome here!!!¡¨

Kurorasu glared and said ¡§I go where I want and do as I please and what would please me at this moment is the destruction of this village. Guards kill these fools for daring to order me about and eradicate this village!!!¡¨ She yelled. She despites humans and looked for any excuse to kill them. Plus she knew that this would anger Sesshoumaru. Not because she killed the humans per say, but because she killed anything on his lands. As far as Sesshoumaru was concerned everything and everyone in the Western lands belonged to him.

As three of the guards started the attack (one of them remained by her side as if he was a personal body guard.) A large sickle weapon came out of no where and knocked the axes out of the guard¡¦s hands, meanwhile Kirara attacked Kurorasu with a fiery in her eyes that has only been there a few times before. In fact tears of anger and grief leaked from her eyes as she attacked one of her most hated enemies. ¡§Kirara!¡¨ Kohaku yelled as she lunged at the raven woman only to be knocked back by the large guard standing next to her. Kurorasu said: ¡§Take care of this lesser youkai while I sit back and enjoy the show.¡¨ She step back and jumped in one of the many trees that surround the village. However, Kohuku had problems of his own.


One of the guards by Kohaku said: ¡§I¡¦ll take care of this little twerp you two handle the rest of the warrior want to be¡¦s he said as he turned his full attention on Kohaku.

¡§Now to take care of you.¡¨ The guard glared.

¡§Easier said then done.¡¨ With that the guard charged Kohaku. Kohaku was angered by the fact that he couldn¡¦t help Kirara or protect the other villagers (The passenger kites were attacking and killing the villagers. ¡¥I have to find away to help Kirara and the others.¡¦ Kohaku thinks. Screams and sudden silences were heard as Kohaku¡¦s opponent slashed his other axe at the boy head. Kokaku ducked and rolled to a nearby tree. He heard Kirara¡¦s roar and looked to see that she was in danger. Using his agility, he jumped up and propelled himself of the tree using his legs and feet. In a desperate attempt to save Kirara (who he saw was injured and bleeding) and the other villagers at the same time, he throw his sickle with enough force to cut off the heads of the two guards attacking the warriors of the village but at an angle that would not cut down the tree next to the second guard. The sickle manage to take of the head of the first guard, but the second one ducked and the sickle bounce of the tree to another tree that was diagonally across from the first tree. It bounced off the second tree killing one of the kites that was attacking a group of women and children (that where on the edge off the forest.) The sickle chain that was close to the sickle wrapped around another tree and the sickle headed in the direction of the battle between Kirara and the raven woman personal guard (Lots of geometry).

The guard battling Kirara had gotten the upper hand on her by using a desperate move. Kirara. Kirara in her rage had managed to tackle the large guard to the ground. When she pinned him down using her weight and strength, her eyes still burned with fiery and emotional pain. She planned on killing the fool for protecting the raven bitch. Just as she was about to use her saber like fangs to rip his throat out, he grab his extra dagger tipped with a deadly yellow poison and stuck her in her side. She roared in pain as the poison took affect, the pain of the poison combined with her already aching body was unbearable. While she was distracted by the pain he kicked her off of him with enough force to put her on her back. As she fell to the ground he quickly picked up his axe to finish her off. Just as he raised his axe above his head he had to quickly block the sickle (that was thrown earlier by Kohaku) before it cut him in half vertically. Kirara struggled to her feet not willing to give up just yet.

When Kohaku sickle was heading toward the guard attacking Kirara, he turned to face his opponent. When he did so, he saw his attacker raise his axe to cut his head off. Just as his axe came close to Kohaku neck, Kohaku managed to fall backwards on his back, but in his rush to get out of the way he tripped over a rock behind him and landed on his back. The guard made a downward sweep of his axe, Kohaku quickly used his right hand to draw his katana and block the blow, but before he got a chance to yank the sickle back toward the guard above him (the chain part of the sickle was still in his hands). The guard stepped on the hand holding the sickle chain, while he used the axe to knock his katana away. Kirara adrenaline started to pump when she say Kohaku in danger. In a burst of new found strength she bit her opponent in the arm and yanked him to her side nearly taking off his arm. Then she rushes as fast as her injured body would carry her to aide Kohaku. The poison in the dagger slowed her done immensely. That combined with the painful heat she was suffering may it hard to for her to tap into her full yokai. So she couldn¡¦t fly to Kohaku, but she ran as fast as she could, not thinking about her weak state nor was she thinking about the enemy at her back. All she thought was No not again!!! I won¡¦t let them do this again; I have to stop him from killing Kohaku!!! She was frantic as she ran for Kohaku. Before she could get there Kohaku attacker stopped dead in his tracks as the kites seem to fly away in terror of something. A shiver went up her spine as she felt the incredible power radiating near Kohaku. The rest of the guards shook in fear. The raven women shook in excitement. A few seconds later the Kohaku¡¦s opponent head fall of its body and low deep growl was heard as Sesshoumaru stepped out of the forest (the kites flew away from the terrible aura he revealed right before he killed the guard, but before he killed the guard his aura was concealed, that¡¦s why no one detected him). By this time, everyone was still as Sesshoumaru called out to the pushy raven bitch.

¡§Explain yourself, Kurorasu.¡¨ He said in a low dangerous voice, but loud enough for the youkai sensitive ears to pick up.

Kohaku was still sitting on the ground. Eyes wide with shock as he stared up at his former traveling companion. Kirara pulled Kohaku out of Sesshoumaru¡¦s way in cased he attacked. She knows they are allies and she knows he just saved Kohaku¡¦s life, but she just wanted to make sure Kohaku wasn¡¦t harmed (you know what they say: It¡¦s better to be safe then sorry).

¡§Why Lord Sesshoumaru, I am merely hear to have a chat with you as I said in my message. Since I was here, I decided to have a little fun with your humans.¡¨ She said humans as if it was some type of horrible virus.

¡§You insult this Sesshoumaru with your mere presence in his lands. And you attack this Sesshoumaru subjects for sport.¡¨ He said in an icy tone while narrowing his eyes at her.

¡§What is it with you? You use to hate humans, now you are offended that I attack them why?¡¨

Sesshoumaru smirked and said ¡§That does not concern you. The question that should concern you is how long you have to live before you die painfully by my hands.¡¨ He didn¡¦t like her messing with anything on his lands, everything there belonged to him and he was very possessive over his territory.

¡§You won¡¦t dare!!! You know harming me will cause a war between my people and yours.¡¨ She said with anger in her voice. The villagers that were not dead stayed hidden. Kirara is on the side hissing and snarling waiting too rip her apart. She had tears in as She thought ¡¥Now she will be responsible for my death as well, I have to say a live long enough to see her dead.¡¦

She thought as she turned back into her smaller form and tried to stay conscience.

¡¥The boy¡¦s kaki neko has anger and grief radiating off her in wakes. So she hates that raven, scum as well, good girl. Sesshoumaru thought as he kept his eyes trained on the raven woman.

Kohaku is by Kirara¡¦s side, silently watching the seen unfold. Kurorasu last two guards haven¡¦t moved. They felt that rush of power when he killed one of their buddies and they did not like the idea of provoking him. Kurorasu lost some of her confidence (basically she was wide eyed and scared shitless) when she heard his threat, but then she remembered her belt and smirked.

¡§Oh, you will be mine Lord Sesshoumaru.¡¨ She said with a twisted smile. Kirara was snarling thinking: That rotten, evil whore deserves to suffer. She thinks she can step on others to get what she wants. Lord Sesshoumaru used to be that way but at least he grew up. I bet she has hurt so many beings that she doesn¡¦t even know who all her enemies are any more. Oh how I wish I wasn¡¦t in such a weaken state now, Then, I would be able to make her feel the pain she has caused so many others. Sooner or later she will pay. If I am not the one to take revenge upon, her I hope I am able to witness it.

Kirara thought as she focus on her hatred for the raven bitch to keep her awake

¡§Kohaku take the fire cat and go they are my prey.¡¨ Sesshoumaru said.

¡§Yes Lord Sesshoumaru.¡¨ ¡¥She must was injured pretty badly, I needed to find a healer. No, that¡¦s not a good idea the villagers probably hate her even more now and will try to hurt her. I will find a place for her to rest then I will ask Sesshoumaru for help. It¡¦s a long shot but he might be willing to aide us.¡¦ Kohaku thinks.

¡§Let¡¦s go Kirara so you can rest. Kohaku said he picked up the smaller cat and went into the forest looking for shelter.

¡§Now, to dispose of this trash before me.¡¨ Sesshoumaru said in a calm voice, which was a total contrast to his red eyes and jagged markings. He sent one poison whip at her with his left hand, while sending another at the remaining guards with his right hand. He didn¡¦t even spare the guards a glance as he they turned into ash.

Kurorasu who was still charging up her belt hopped out of the tree taking a hit on her left side because of the power of her belt the acid whip only passed right through her.

Sesshoumaru glared at her as he thought ¡¥her scent has change it is her original scent mixed in with the scent of a sprit.

¡§This is my new toy Sesshoumaru you will not be able to harm me with this. You will be mine Sesshoumaru whether you want to be or not.¡¨ She laughed.

¡§I will not, now perish!!!¡¨ He said with a sharp tone. Quickly he draws his Tensaiga and struck out at her. Instead of her dying like Magasuhi or the sprits of the underworld, she reverted back to flesh and blood. Realizing what happen he sent his poison whip after her. She dodges to her right but not enough to avoid the blow. Part of the whip touched her side lightly and she screamed in pain. Even though it barely touched her it sizzled on her skin giving her a nearly fatal wound. He only used his whip instead of his Bakusaiga because he only wanted to kill his prey not anyone else (He learned the value of life and what grief felt like when Rin died a second time, so he didn¡¦t like killing anyone when it wasn¡¦t necessary (Although he can still be a cold ruthless bastard when provoked.) She charged the belt up and this time a cloud of white smoke quickly appeared around the whole area clouding his senses. She laughed a maniacal life and said:

¡§Oh such power Lord Sesshoumaru but you can¡¦t stop what you can¡¦t find.¡¨ Her voice echoed so he couldn¡¦t get a fix on her exact location. (He knew she had moved as soon as the smoke appeared, but he could find out were)

¡§You bothersome little insect, you think you can escape my wrath?¡¨ He said in a cold tone as he send his whip after her again only for it to past through her.

She laughed again and said ¡§Yes, I won¡¦t die today my love.¡¨ She laughed even though she was in pain.

¡§I am patience. Sooner or later I WILL kill you.¡¨ He said while his eyes were ruby red now.

¡¥I better get out of here before the spell wears off.¡¦ She thinks then she says ¡§This isn¡¦t over my lovely Inu.¡¨ She laughed and completely disappeared.

After she leaves he turns and walks away hearing the remaining village slowly make there way back to there homes. Those that were in his path ran from him in terror.

¡¥These humans seem to have some self preservation; they still fear me, good.¡¨ Just because Sesshoumaru mellowed out compared to how he use to be didn¡¦t mean that he wanted his reputation as the aristocratic assassin ruined. As he makes his way towards Kohuku location he had a long time to think:

¡¥The sent of Inuyasha and his pack is non existent on Kohaku. He has not seen them in a long time. I am curious to know why. As for the Kaki Neko, she has been injected with a very potent poison. That combined with her extreme heat symptoms will spell doom for the feline. Her heat scent is incredibility sweet and intoxicating. She smells like she is going into her first heat. Kaki Neko gain there humanoid form when they go into there first heat. Never have I smelled such an alluring scent before, she could be of use to me. If I waited until she died, I could use Tensaiga to bring her back. However the poison and heat will cause her death to be long and excruciating, No one who is an enemy of the Raven should suffer so. If she suffers and dies, the raven bitch would have won a victory. She will be responsible for the death of one of my subjects from my lands. I will not allow that to happen¡K Hmmm, there is another way to get the poison out of her system without her dying. I will just have to seduce her, that¡¦s simple enough. That fact that her scent tells me that she cannot conceive makes her a rare creature indeed. She will be saved and I will be relieved from this tiresome heat. Now to get rid of the boy for a little while¡K¡¦

The raven woman had been the perfect ¡¥cold shower¡¦ for the daiyoukai heat. However, as soon as she left, and he really paid attention to Kirara¡¦s scent a certain part of his anatomy stated acting up again. Especially since he knew she could conceive. He could have his fun save two allies (one from grief Kohaku and one from death Kirara). He smirked as he headed toward the cave.

Kohaku sat in the cave waiting on Sesshoumaru ¡¥I wish he would come quickly Kirara is fading fast.¡¦ He thinks as he washes her in a small stream in the cave. Her breathing is labored and she felt like she was on fire even after she has been soaking in the stream. She has also lost consciences. Sesshoumaru walked in the cave behind Kohaku. Kohaku had his back turned to the entrance of the cave as he frantically tried to cool of the cat.

¡§Kohaku.¡¨

¡§AHHHH¡¨ Kohaku turns around and lets out a breath. ¡§Lord Sesshoumaru you startled me.¡¨

¡§You as a tajya should know better then to turn you back to any opening.¡¨ Sesshoumaru chastised in his own way while looking impassive (even though it was hard for him to keep that look. Considering he was ready to jump up and down in excitement.)

Kohaku said ¡§I know Lord Sesshoumaru, but I am trying to cool off Kirara. She is in heat and it is really bothering her this time. He said in a concerned voice.

¡¥This time? So this is not the fire cat first heat, yet this is her first time taking on a human form. Interesting¡¦ Sesshoumaru thought.

¡§Lord Sesshoumaru, is there anyway you can help her?¡¨

¡§Give her to me.¡¨ Sesshoumaru ordered.

Taking this as a yes, Kohaku handed her over.

Kohaku bows low and says ¡§Thank you Lord Sesshoumaru.¡¨ Kohaku exclaimed.

Sesshoumaru merely nodded and said: ¡§Go visit your sibling and the rest of the pack in Inuyasha¡¦s village.¡¨

¡§How did you-¡§before Kohaku could finish, Sesshoumaru raised an elect eyebrow and said: ¡§My nose.¡¨ As if it should have been obvious.

¡§Oh.¡¨

¡§I will bring the fire cat too you within two weeks.¡¨

¡§Why two weeks¡KOH! Mating season for mammal youkai. Sesshoumaru gives him an impassive look. Then Kohaku says: ¡§I will go and help the villagers bury the dead then I will head for Inuyasha¡¦s village. It¡¦s about four days walk from here.¡¨

Sesshoumaru nodded.

¡§Lord Sesshoumaru may I ask why you told me to go to Inuyasha¡¦s village?¡¨

¡§I did not spare your lives so you can waste what few human years you have running from your sibling and your past. Go to her.¡¨ He commanded in a curt tone.

Kohaku smiled and said ¡§Thank you for everything you have done for all of us¡Kthe pack.¡¨ Even though Sesshoumaru was harsh, he knew he meant well. He should at least visit his sister and the rest of the gang once in a while. They should enjoy each others company. Life is too short to waste it by staying away from the people you love. Kohaku guessed he needed to hear it said.

Sesshoumaru looked at him with an impassive face and said ¡§Your thanks is not necessary, be gone.¡¨ He didn¡¦t care about the details of Kohakus trip nor did he want his thanks (someone thanking him means that some one appreciates him doing something good. He just didn¡¦t like his good deeds to be acknowledged; it messed up his badass image.) He just wanted him gone.

Kohaku smiled and said ¡§Ok, bye Lord Sesshoumaru, bye Kirara feel better soon.¡¨ And with that, he was gone.

¡§Now for this one.¡¨ Sesshoumaru said out loud as he proceeded to suck some of the poison out with his mouth¡K
