Reunited Worlds

Chapter Three:

There was quite a hospitable air about the village after Sessha came back with Sesshoumaru. Inuyasha, Kagome, and the rest of their gang were surprised to find that Sessha was quite the aunt. While Inutaisha was busy with making supper, she was playing with Ichiro and Shizuka. The experience was almost phenomenal, because no one could think that she would ever participate in the lives of her niece and nephew, even though she was hospitable with Inutaisha.

Sessha did not have her sister's ears and would not tolerate Ichiro's playful biting though. She did playfully pull him in her arms and tickle his stomach with her hand until he nipped at her wrist. Inutaisha looked up at her sister and her pups playing together. She smiled as she finished putting in some daikon for the soup they were making.

"I think they miss you sister." She told Sessha.

Sessha chuckled softly. "Aye, I think they have. I don't see how you can keep up with them. Especially Ichiro."

"He's a handful, but don't worry, he's a mama's boy as well." Kagome and Inutaisha laughed as Sessha yelped from the surprise of being bit. "Be careful Sessha. I think Ichiro is going through a phase of some sorts."

"You can say that again." Sessha replied as she held her nephew still.

"So where have the guys gone off to?" Inutaisha asked Kagome.

"Their going hunting for meat."

"What about Mirra and Sango? Where did they go?"

"I think they are with Shippou and Shippa right now." Kagome answered.

"Hmm. So, tell me, when are you and Inuyasha expecting?"

"December. The doctor said that they were due in December."

"That's five months away from now. I am sure you are excited." Inutaisha said as she stirred the soup some more.

"Oh! Inutaisha! Would you come with me to my time? My mother wanted so much to meet you and now she can! She can see your babies and look at what might be the possibilities for her grandchildren." Kagome asked her as she looked on in excitement.

"Um now?"

"Yes."

"Well I suppose it will be okay. Ichiro, Shizuka, come to Mama. We're going on a field trip. Sessha, you think you can watch the soup for a while?"

"I'm not incompetent Inutaisha."

Inutaisha chuckled at her sister, "I take it as a yes then. Okay Kagome, let's go."

"Mama, i'm home!" Kagome shouted as she entered her house. Inutaisha looked around and noticed similarities in Kagome's home and Kagoru's home.

"I'm in here." A feminine voice answered.

"Mama, I have brought someone I would like you to meet." Kagome told her mother as she led Inutaisha into the kitchen. Inutaisha was surprised when she saw Kagome's mother and she knew her mother was equally surprised. "Mama, this is Inutaisha. Inuyasha's counterpart. Oh. The children are hers. The boy is Ichiro and the girl is Shizuka."

"Oh my." Kagome's mother simply said before smiling and grasping Inutaisha's ears gently. "They feel just like Inuyasha's and the babies are so cute. I hope your babies turn out like hers."

"I know. Aren't they cute?!" Kagome exclaimed.

Inutaisha smiled while trying to figure out what to say, "Hi..." She stammered.

"Call me Mama, Inutaisha. Why don't you sit down. We can have a bowl of ramen and tea and talk about how things are going."

"Very well." Inutaisha said as she sat down and let her children curl up in her lap for a nap.

Kagome and Mama sat on either side of her after the bowls and cups had been presented. "They are so adorable." Mama told Inutaisha.

"Thank you. Kagoru and I are probably going to have more in the future. They are a handful though." Inutaisha replied.

"Kagome has told me all about you. She never quit talking about you and everyone from your world." Mama said as Inutaisha slurped some noodles in her mouth.

"It's true. We have missed you so much." Kagome told Inutaisha.

"We missed you as well Kagome." Inutaisha responded.

"I can't believe I will be having grandchildren. I can't wait to hold them." Mama said in an excited tone.

"Children are such a blessing." Inutaisha said, "I don't know how I ever survived without Ichiro and Shizuka."

"You should tell Mama what Ichiro does." Kagome told Inutaisha as she giggled.

"Goodness. Ichiro is going through a phase of some sorts. He likes to bite my ears. Poor Sessha. I think she might never have children of her own after Ichiro biting her."

"Ichiro has the white hair?" Mama asked.

"Yes. He is such a Mama's boy. At least that is what Kagoru tells me. And he is. He still breast feeds though we have weened him away. He switches in and out at times." Inutaisha replied with a laugh.

Mama and Kagome laughed with her. "I can't wait to have my babies." Kagome said excitedly.

"I wish my mother and father had been able to seen mine in person. I also wish they would have seen Sessha and I get along better."

Kagome touched Inutaisha's hand, "I know, but they are watching on in spirit."

"Yes, I know Kagome. Still, it's not the same." She responded.

"Tell me more about your friends Inutaisha." Mama said as she changed the subject.

"Alright...well where to begin?"

Inutaisha told Kagome's mother everything about her friends and her husband. She told them about their plans for the future and how everything seemed to be going well for all of them. Afterwards, Kagome helped her mom clean up then they bid her a farewell before going to the past.

When Inutaisha and Kagome arrived back they found everyone gathered in the hut. Sessha was sitting and eating some soup and grilled meat. "Everything smells good." Kagome said as Sango smiled and handed her a bowl and a few skewers of meat.

"So where were you ladies?" Miroku questioned them.

"We went to visit Kagome's mother. She was nice." Inutaisha explained as she sat beside Kagoru. He fed her some noodles since she held the twins in her arms.

"It was nice." Kagome agreed.

"I am looking forward to seeing her again."

"I'll have to meet your mom Kagome." Kagoru said as he laughed softly.

"Sure. We can all go next time." Kagome said as she ate some of the soup.

Inutaisha noticed her sister leave the hut and looked at Kagoru. "I better go see what is going on." She told him then laid her two sleeping pups beside their father. She then stood up and left the hut as well. She got a few yards away from the hut before asking, "What is the matter?"

"I don't know. I sense something. It's familiar, like...Naraka."

Inutaisha narrowed her eyes. "We killed them. They can't be back."

"But what if your mate's counterpart brought them back with us? She might not of thought of how dangerous her wish was."

"Sessha, we'll keep an eye out, but I don't think they are back."

"Be careful Inutaisha. If we are wrong, then your pups are at stake too." Sessha told her as Inutaisha growled defensively.

"I will Sessha. You don't have to worry about my pups."

"I have to. After all, they are my niece and nephew."

Inutaisha smiled, "I'm glad you acknowledge them as such."

"Mother wouldn't want me to be bitter."

"Aren't you going to eat?"

"No. Besides, I have to check on my two wards. Don't worry though, I will be back soon."

Inutaisha chuckled. "I don't have to worry about you Sessha. However, be careful nonetheless."

"Yeah, yeah." Sessha said then waved at her sister as she walked off.

Inutaisha watched her sister leave then rejoined the party inside the hut. She hoped Sessha was wrong, however, she had felt it too. She wondered if Inuyasha had felt it as well. She knew that if they were to come back that Kagome, Mirra, and her pups could be in danger. She would never let that happen. "Is everything alright?" Kagoru asked.

Inutaisha smiled at him. "Of course it is." Though she felt like she was telling a lie.
