When Christmas Comes to Town

The next morning Nina woke up stretching and yawning that was the bed sleep she had had in a very long time. She went into the bathroom and brushed her hair and then walked down stairs and began to look for the kitchen.

Sesshomaru walked up behind her already dressed in his business suit.

“Are you lost?” his voice rang in her ears.

Nina jumped with a gasp her heart began to beat quickly. She turned around and saw Sesshomaru standing there.

“You scared me…I was just looking for the kitchen to get some breakfast.” Nina said looking up at him

Sesshomaru shook his head “no need for you in the kitchen.” He lead her into the dinning room once again this time she sat herself and a servant came out.

“Ill have my usual and get her some eggs sausage toast and hash browns with a fruit bowl” Sesshomaru said

The servant nodded and walked off.

“After lunch I will be sending someone to drive you to get some new cloths for you to wear and once you are done shopping around 5 im going to meet you at the cocktail club introducing you to the manager and let you see around befor you start there in two days. Today I will also call and make you a doctor’s appointment for tomorrow.” Sesshomaru said looking at her

Nina nodded “thank you”

“you might not see me very much in the mornings the next few days I have some business planning if you have any questions just ask Mizuki I will be home for dinner and probably in my study most of the time but feel free to do as you wish around the house.” Sesshomaru said informing her

“Uhhh Sesshomaru may I ask you something” Nina asked sheepishly

“Yes” Sesshomaru said flatly

“Why don’t you have any Christmas decorations” Nina asked

“I do not have any and it’s just me and my servants so I never saw a point in putting them up.” Sesshomaru said

“You wouldn’t mind if I went to my old house got ours a decorated here would you, it is the holidays and it really seems to warm up a house when it’s decorated.” Nina said looking at Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru thought for a little bit and then nodded “if it would make you happy you may decorate. Get some of the servants to help you get the decorations and to put them up” Sesshomaru said.

Few moments later the servant brought their food out. Sesshomaru had a stack of pancakes sausage and bacon 2 eggs over easy and hashbrowns.

Sesshomaru finished his befor Nina finished hers and left for work.

Mizuki came in with a smile.

“Miss Nina while you are showering would you like me to bring you some cloths to pick from to wear for when you go out?” Mizuki asked

“yes Mizuki I would appricate that but please call me Nina” Nina said with a smile taking her last bite then getting up going to her room with Mizuki.

“Mizuki do you think you could get some of the servants together and come with me to the house Sesshomaru just bought I need to get some things from there.” Nina said looking at the older woman

“Yes I can do that when do you plan on going” Mizuki asked

“Sometime tomorrow I think today Sesshomaru wants me to go shopping for cloths and meet the manager of the cocktail club and then tomorrow I will have a doctor’s appointment.” Nina said

Mizuki nodded.

Later that day Nina was shopping with Mizuki by her side they laughed and talked as she shopped. Nina really enjoyed Mizuki’s company it was almost like having a mother again.

Nina got a lot of jeans and soft turtlenecks and some shirts like the one she wore the other night. Once five o clock hit they where at the cocktail lounge and walked in and she walked over to Sesshomaru.

“Nina this is Keiji he is the manager of this cocktail lounge.” Sesshomaru said introducing the girl to the man who stood befor her.

He was a very sleek looking man he had short silver hair sleeked back and he wore a suite much like Sesshomaru.

Nina smiled “its nice to meet you Mr. Keiji”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss. Fujiko my boss here tells me you have a wonderful voice.” Keiji said

Nina blushed some “I wouldn’t say its wonderful its just normal to me”

“Would you mind just singing a small song for us” Keiji asked

Nina looked at Sesshomaru and he nodded to her.

“Yeah I could sing something.” Nina looked at him.

Keiji led her to the mic as Sesshomaru took a seat in on of the arm chairs at a table Keiji soon joined him as Nina stood in front of a mic and she took a deep breath.

“This use to be a song my father would sing to my mother around Christmas time.” Nina said she took another deep breath and slowly blew it out.

“Dawn slowly breaking
Our friends have all gone home
you and I are waiting

there’s a present by the tree
Stockings on the wall
and knowing you’re in love with me
is the greatest gift of all.” Nina sang looking at the two men that sat in front of her

Keiji watched her mesmerized by her voice. Sesshomaru stared at her she was simply gorgeous up there and her voice just enhanced everything he wanted to be able to listen to her every time she sung. She was so tender and graceful.

“The fire is slowly fading
Chill is in the air
All the gifts are waiting
For children everywhere
Through the window I can see
Snow begin to fall

Is the greatest gift of all.” Nina sang her eyes begging to get watery

Something began to stir in Sesshomaru as he saw the tear forming in the corner of her eye. He did not like the fact that something was upsetting her.

“Just before I go to sleep
I hear a church bell ring
Merry Christmas everyone
Is the song it sings
So I say a silent prayer
For creatures great and small
Peace on Earth, good will to men
Is the greatest gift of all.” As the song ended a tear slipped down Nina’s cheek. She quickly swiped it away and looked at them.

“Please excuse me” Nina said befor running out of the lounge and out the front door she turned the corner into an Ally and began hitting her fist on the cement wall.

Sesshomaru stood and shook Keiji’s hand.

“Your right she has a wonderful voice. I hope she is okay I didn’t mean to push her any.” Keiji said

Sesshomaru nodded and left walking out and looked around and took a sniff at the air and followed her scent into the ally way where she had her head and fist resting against the wall as she cried hiding her face.

Sesshomaru looked at her as she looked up and over at him and befor he knew it she had run into his arms wrapping her arms around his waist and cried into his chest. Sesshomaru didn’t know quite what to do but his arms seemed to know as they slowly wrapped around the crying girl. He held her for a few moments and then led her to his car they got into and drove back to his house she had seemed to stop crying as she sat in the passenger seat and looked out the window. They had entered the country side.

“Im sorry about that, I…I don’t know what got into me, you where there and I just was wishing someone would be there just to hold me. It wont happen again I promise.” Nina said not looking away from the window.

Sesshomaru looked over at her and then back to the road “its okay” he said flatly.

They pulled up to his house and Nina got up walking inside and began up the stairs when Sesshomaru stopped her.

“Nina I want to show you something. Will you follow me please?” Sesshomaru said

“Im really tired can it wait?” Nina asked

“It will only take a minute” Sesshomaru said begging to walk down the hall and Nina followed he opened the door to the lounge.

“Ive already seen everything in…..” she was cut off when she saw her family’s piano and the pictures on it she slowly walked over to it picking up a picture of her and her brother. She turned around and looked at him confused.

“I figured you must be really close to the thing to have broken into my house just to play it and by technicality the pictures belong to you. And you only work two nights out of the week so I thought you would enjoy something to do while you stayed here.” Sesshomaru said looking at her.

“I…I don’t know how to thank you….” Nina said she could feel herself getting light headed she went to grab for the edge of the piano to support herself but missed and began to fall to the floor as she passed out. In one swift motion Sesshomaru caught her befor she hit the floor and laid her on the couch. He pushed the hair out of the way and sniffed the air to see if he could sense if anything was wrong. Everything seemed okay he concluded she probably had just gotten to worked up today or over did it. He slowly took in her scent once again he had never really paid it much attention but she smelled of fresh newly fallen snow and lilies. He slowly put his hand on her stomach resting it there gently he could feel the small baby in her kicking. He smirked a little.

“Must be a boy seems to be pretty feisty.” Sesshomaru thought.

Nina began to slowly wake up. Sesshomaru looked down at her as he eyes slowly began to open. She thought her heart skipped a beat as she saw Sesshomaru golden eyes peering into hers. She just laid there looking into his eyes then she saw it exactly like her father had said his eyes had seem cold every other time she had looked at them but looking at them closely hidden in them was concern and care.
She blushed some and bit her lip some.

“Umm I think I should go lay down in my room.” Nina said softly.

Sesshomaru didn’t move he just continued to look into her blue eyes, and then to her surprise he pressed his lips to hers. Her body froze and her eyes widened for a second but then her feel of his lips against hers and his comforting scent melted what ever froze her body and she slowly closed her eyes and opened her mouth and Sesshomaru nipped at her bottom lip asking for her to part her lips. Sesshomaru placed a hand tenderly on her cheek as their kiss deepened. After a few minutes Sesshomaru slowly pulled away and gazed into her eyes again as she slowly opened them.

“Ummm can I ask where that came from” Nina asked softly still taking everything in.

“Nina I don’t know what it is about you but you not only calm the beast inside me but drive him wild at the same time. I look at you and hear your voice and all I want to do is be near you and protect you, I have lived for over a thousand years and no one has even made me feel the way you make me feel. I want to take all the pain and hurt you have weld up inside of you and tear it apart. I never want to be another day with out you. I can understand this coming on so suddenly for you and can easily over whelm you so I am willing to take it slow but when you are ready I want you to be my mate.” Sesshomaru said looking into her eyes.

Nina blushed “ummm yeah you can call that a little sudden, I have to admit Sesshomaru I am very attracted to you and you are the first one since my parent’s death that has shown me kindness. As for the mateing thing we will have to see I still have my own child to think about right now and though I might not seem it but im scared out of my mind right now about having this baby. Trust me when I was a little girl I would of jumped at the opportunity of being the mate to the great lord of the west but I right now I just need support and comfort and someone to be there for me untill my head is at ease.” Nina said placing a hand tenderly on Sesshomaru’s cheek.

Sesshomaru smiled a tad and nodded “very understandable and I will be here to support and comfort you. I would feel better though if you moved into the room next to mine just so your closer to me in case you do need me.”

“I think that can be arranged” Nina laughed slightly.

Sesshomaru kissed her forehead.

“I made you a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning that way I can come and just got to make sure I really am paying for the best” Sesshomaru said

Nina laughed a little at this and took in a big breath and let out a relaxed sigh. “You know this couch is pretty comfy I might just take a nap here.”

“I got a better place follow me” Sesshomaru said

He helped her up and guided her up the stairs informing Mizuki he would be in this upstairs study. He led Nina down the hall and into a room that had a desk couch and wide couch the two people could easily lay on and book selves that lined 3 of the four walls and a rather expensive stereo system sitting on one of the book selves. He led her to the couch and grabbed a remote putting on soft relaxing music and laid down with her on the couch resting a hand on her stomach gently rubbing it. Nina smiled at Sesshomaru as her eyes got heavy. Sesshomaru nestled his head next to hers and growled softly into her ear. The rest of the night went quickly and befor she knew it she was going back to sleep not that she mind Sesshomaru made sure everything was fine and to her liking befor he dismissed himself to his room that was just right next door.

A/n i know this one is comeing a little late but i have been extremly bussy with the christmas seasson and christmas just around the corner. if i dont get my next chapter up befor christmas I hope you all have a happy holidays and ill get the next chapter up as soon as i can.
