Kagome woke up with a start ~ Ware am I? How did I get hear? ~ Memories from the night before came rushing back causing her to come fully awake. “Sota !?” Kagome called out “Yes?” Sota’s head appeared in the door to the kitchen. That’s when the delicious smells of eggs, bacon, toast and other goodies hit her nose. “Hmmm that smell great, when did you learn how to cook?” “Well when Mom got so sick and dad went to jail I really didn’t have a choice it was starve or teach myself. You can’t believe how many times I almost burned down the house at first.” Kagome looked thoughtful and then asked “Why are you hear alone didn’t they send some one to pick you up when Mom went in? And why is Kenji in jail? Tell me every thing.” Sota became silent and stared at her for a few minutes before he said, “Well okay”



-Sota’s flash back-



Sota felt a dip in his bed as he began to wake a hand rested on his chest. “Now that Kagome is gone we will have to get to know each other a little better.” Came a whispered voice from the dark behind Sota’s closed eyes. ~ You’re the reason she left. ~ Sota opened his eyes when Kenji’s hand began to move down his chest. Sota’s body trembled as tears welled up in his eyes ~ What can I do? ~ “Umm dad tonight I don’t feel good I think I’m going to throw-up.” Kenji drew his hand back in disgust. “Well get some sleep and we’ll talk some more latter.” Sota rolled over in his bed his back to his father. ~ He hurt Kagome, he’s the reason she left. I have to do some thing.



So the next day at school he went to talk to the school counselor and explained every thing to her, about his father sister and how sick his mother was. The counselor instantly alerted the authorities. Kenji Hammrua was whose name was found to be Naraku Kenkotsku, a convicted child molester, was found guilty of child molestation and in violation of his parole.



Soon after the conviction Mura became very sick and had to take regular trips to the hospital. Sota had to stay home and watch the house making sure every thing ran smoothly. Mura had often asked Sota if his sister had returned home and she never lost hope that Kagome would come back

“You see Mom is only visiting the hospital right now she will be back soon, I wish that I had realized sooner what was going on, I mean you changed so much after your birth day but I was to into my life I didn’t care about yours. I’m so sorry, I really am.” Tear slipped down his cheek as he starred at the floor not really knowing what to say. All the sudden arms slipped around him from behind and he was pulled close to a rather thin body but he felt warm any way. “It’s not your fault you were just a kid I should have gone to some one like you did, the reason I never did was because he said he would go after you. I should have realized after I left he would go after you and I was too selfish to even care. I’m the one who should be sorry I didn’t protect you.” Sota turn around and hugged her back not feeling like arguing with her. Kagome stood wiped the tears from her eyes “lets eat before it gets cold.
