Gothic Love

To every one who has reviewed my story so far I know it seems that the story is going really fast. It will really slow down after the next chapter. But right now Kagome is basically shattering the cold mask that she has wrapped herself up in for centuries. She's been in love with Sesshy for centuries and has been using her mask to hide everything about herself. I know people were shocked that I made Kikyo gothic, but I'm so tired of her being a slut or cheerlead like she usually is. I did it where Sesshy convinced her to kill Naraku because it marks the beginning of her mask falling away. As for her miko powers she has them because unknown to anybody in her family back at the beginning of her mothers bloodline they were chosen to aid the first mikos in the creation of the perfect miko born to protect mankind for all eternity. But after her mothers bloodline married demon after demon after demon the miko energy within the bloodline got smaller and smaller until like with Kagome it was unknown that they even possessed miko abilities. I know your all wondering why Naraku was killed so early. It was because Kagome's power easly could over take him at anytime and because Laviation is there and is going to be her perfect match in terms of power. I hope you like the new chapter and would love any suggestions you guys may have for the story. But, I hope this cleared up some points for people who were confused. Please R& R.


Chapter 3: No Longer Enemies But Quite Lovers Yet

Kagome walked into school with her head spinning and her eyes closed. She never opened them as she walked through the hallways never once bumping into anyone or anything. She could see everything around her though just not in the normal way she was seeing everything in heat signatures and sound waves. She punched the locker next to Inuyasha’s head and laughed when he jumped back in reaction. She never once opened her eyes as she walked pass him and spun back around catching his hand and bending it so that he went to his knees before her as he tried to punch her. Kagome bent low and brought her lips to his ear.

“I see everything Inuyasha and if you think that you can beat me you have another thing coming. If you don’t believe me ask your brother and he will tell you of my power. Tell him I said thank you.”

That said Kagome stood and walked away from him eyes still clamped shut. Her eyes snapped open just in time to back flip in the way of the blast sent at Inuyasha. It hit her square in the chest and sent her flying back her clothes in tatters about her though her bra and underwear were intact. She stood and went to Inuyasha’s side just as Sesshomaru appeared from nowhere. He looked her over and pulled off his shirt and handed it to her. Kagome shook her head no and conjured clothes to her frame, her eyes never leaving the large hole in the building. Then just as she felt the energy spike again she moved in front of Sesshomaru and blocked him from the attack. She was again blown back by the blow and growled low in her throat her clothes again in tatters.

“KAMI, CAN I AT LEAST KEEP MY CLOTHS ON?”

Sesshomaru smirked and snuck a glace at her again. Kagome didn’t bother to conjure clothes this time and walked forward with a look of death in her eyes as she walked she removed her concealment and conjured two swords to her hands and moved outside to face the new threat. She would keep the promise she had made long ago to her second father. She would protect Sesshomaru and Inuyasha at the cost of her own life. She jumped up into the air and hovered here for a second, Sesshomaru and Inuyasha looked up at her as she started to fall back to the ground. Sesshomaru caught her and set her on her feet. She thanked him but never took her eyes from her work.

“Go home right now.”

“You can’t order us around.”

“I can and will because you two are my charges. You’ve felt me around you for years just never seen me. Sesshomaru you know what I speak is the truth. Just as I protected Izayoi and your mother.”

Sesshomaru’s heart seized she was the energy he had always felt protecting him as a pup. She was the one who had saved him from his mother when she went into a rage and tried to kill him. She was the one who had ended his mothers’ life and in doing so given her the peace that his father had taken from her. Inuyasha stared at her shocked, he himself had felt her on several occasions and after his mothers’ death when he had run away for almost two hundred years. Still they stood unmoving and Kagome growled low in her throat in anger.

“Leave now or I will make you leave.”

They still stood stock still behind her and just as she moved to make them leave and attack was unleashed from a shadow in the distance she spun around and cut the attack in half before sending her own attack.

“You are in my way...LEAVE.”

“No.”

“Iie.”

Kagome growled and shattered all the barriers on her energy. The ground shook with such power the school was in danger of collapsing and still she pushed out more and more energy until she was releasing at least a third of her power. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru were on the ground the sheer force of her energy pulling them to the ground as if the gravity around them had increased exponentially. A pained scream ripped from Inuyasha’s throat as the pressure doubled then tripled. Kagome seemed lost in her own power but Inuyasha’s scream penetrated her mind and she pulled all her energy back and formed a whirlwind around only her body. She turned glowing eyes on them.

“Go and tell Inutaisho I will be severely weakened when I arrive. NOW GO.”

They stood and shoot off in Sesshomaru’s energy form. Kagome sighed in relief, she hadn’t meant to hurt Inuyasha with her energy only let them taste a friction of her power. Looking forward her eyes locked on her target and she walked forward to meet him. They stopped about three yards apart. Cerulean clashed with glowing red. Kagome reinforced her mask her voice colder than ice and harder than diamonds.

“I take it your Laviathen.”

“So you managed to at least get my name out of that little weakling before you killed him did you. Well it’s nice to make you acquaintance miko youkai Kagome.”

“Sorry I can’t say the same. What do you want from me?”

“Your power, loyalty, and body.”

“Why?”

“You need not know the reason only that I do want what only you possess. Besides I have the answers you seek pertaining to your miko powers. You’ll come to me if for no other reason then your want the answers I possess.”

“I will kill you because I know it was you who tried to kill Inutaisho.”

“So that means you know that am unable to die I am an immortal and you or nothing but a weak little onna who believes she can beat me when millions stronger then you have tried and failed.”

“You have yet to see my true power but if you keep messing with my family you will die by my hand and no others.”

Kagome turned and walked away her hips doing a teasing roll with each step she took. Leviation through one of his strongest attacks at her back and Kagome spun and spin kicked it back at him. His eyes widened and he was forced to reabsorb the energy. But because he had to reabsorb so much energy he was thrown back several feet and had to take the brunt of the attack. Kagome smirked and disappeared as she rushed to Taisho Manor to check on Inutaisho and the others. Walking into the manor she followed all of their scents to Inutaisho’s study. Kagome had yet to summon clothes to her body and clearly didn’t care that Sesshomaru and Inuyasha were looking at her in such a state of undress.

“What happened?”

“It was Leviation he came to kill the boys since he failed to kill you. But, he was dealt with accordingly and thinks he has seen the brunt of my power when he saw merely about a fifth of my true power.”

“The earthquake earlier was you?”

“Hai, are you surprised that I command such energies father?”

Kagome were a smug smirk on her face but it quickly faded. There was something different about the room and she saw it on the wall behind Inutaisho’s desk. It was her picture the one Sesshomaru had taken in a frame on the wall she walked over to it and traced it with her claw gently.

“Sesshomaru?”

“Hmm?”

“Why did you take my work?”

“It fascinated me that you would draw such a sad picture when you yourself seem to be numb.”

“Trust me of all the things I am numb isn’t one of them. Father I take my leave now.”

Inutaisho stopped her by grabbing her wrist.

“It is to dangerous for you to be by yourself. I want you to move in to the manor for a while.”

“I will be fine.”


“I wasn’t asking Kagome.”

Kagome whipped around and glared at him as anger seeped into her aura and her energies began to leak out of her body. Inutaisho moved closer while Sesshomaru and Inuyasha moved back.

“I will NOT be ordered around Inutaisho of the West. Now I take my leave.”

Kagome whipped around and was almost to the door when Inutaisho appeared before her. His eyes were tainted red in his anger at being disobeyed. Kagome sent a blast of power at him and sent him flying back into the wall hard. As soon as it happened Kagome regretted it. She moved to his side and picked him up so that she was supporting his weight. Sesshomaru growled low in his chest and Kagome glared at him.

“I will not argue with you puppy now move out of my way.”

“I am no puppy bitch and you will give me my father.”

Kagome gently set Inutaisho on the floor and then ran at Sesshomaru she pent him to the wall by the throat. Inutaisho woke up with a start when Kagome’s power spiked.

“Release him.”

Kagome sighed and let Sesshomaru fall to the floor.

“What has gotten into you lately Kagome you haven’t attacked me since you were a pup and your parents died.”

Suddenly it hit him, Inutaisho pulled Kagome to his chest and hugged her tightly.

“Do not fear it Kagome you feel it again don’t you? That sense of dread that always kills those closest to you. We will never leave you, ever.”

Sesshomaru looked at her as Kagome shook with emotion. She tried to suppress her pain and sadness.

"It is not a feeling it is a vision going to come true if I don't stay away from all of you. Just know that I love you and will aways be here even when you can't see, sense, or feel me."

Kagome elbowed Inutaisho in the stomach hard and was gone a second later. Inutaisho regainied his feet in moments and hung his head sadly. Walking into his study he closed his door as the first of tears long hidden came to the surface and fell from his eyes. Sesshomaru went to his room and lays on his bed thinking. He know that his father was worried for Kagome and he knew that because his father had only ever cried three times in his life before Sesshomaru and each time he had been in a state of worry and or grief. Sighing Sesshomaru rolled over and went to sleep with thoughts of the past on his mind. Inuyasha sat in the hall on the floor a fear so great it was crippling finally releasing it's hold on him. It had been hours since Kagome left the manor and his father had retreated into his study with tears in his eyes. Standing Inuyasha made up his mind he was going to talk to Kagome even though Sesshomaru didn't understand her fear he did. He just hoped that Kagome would hear him out.

Leaving the manor Inuyasha ran through the night making his way to Kagome's home. He was almost there when he was grabbed and everything went dark. To all who passed by it looked like a shadow had fallen then it was gone and a figure was on the ground. Inuyasha's body was found the next morning by two joggers out for their daily run at dawn. News spread quickly and when it reached Inutaisho and Sesshomaru they could do nothing but sit there and grieve. Neither knew what Inuyasha was doing out that late or even why he was over in that area but it only mattered that something be done and that is exactly what was going to happen.

Kagome turned on the news and was shocked to see Inuyasha's picture on the screen. She listened for maybe half a minute before she was gone. She knew what he was doing and who had killed him. She let the tears fall from her eyes in thick streams. Her aura flared and her eyes bled red she was invisible to all she ran pass only the burn of her energy left any indication that she had even gone pass. Both youkai and humans felt her energy and hid in fear. Inutaisho felt her coming and looked at Sesshomaru who nodded as well. Kagome walked calmly into Inutaisho's study still in the hoari she had worn to bed.

"Explain this."

Sesshomaru looked over at her and sighed. True he and Inuyasha were always arguing or something but he was family and he would be damned if someone would get away with killing his brother.

"We don't know anything."

Kagome shook her head as she sighed in sadness.

"Nine times out of ten he was coming to see me to talk me into coming to stay here. Damn, brat he should have known better then to come after me at night."

Inutaisho looked up sharply.

"How do you know that? You saw it happen and didn't help him? LEAVE MY HOME AND NEVER RETURN HERE."

Kagome's eyes widened before she looked at the floor a single tear hitting the carpet before she was gone. Sesshomaru looked at his father with wide eyes. They both knew damn well that if Kagome had been there she would have done all in her power to save Inuyasha and yet Inutaisho had just accused her of lettig Inuyasha die.

"Father, you are a fool if you think that Kagome let Inuyasha die."

Inutaisho said nothing just sat there slupped in his chair as he cried for the son he had lost. The hours turned to days and days turned to weeks and weeks to months. Sesshomaru looked for Kagome at school and even went to her house but couldn't find hide nor hair of her. The last time he had seen her was at the funeral for Inuyasha when he had stepped inside for a moment. Kagome had appeared before him in a black skirt and shirt her eyes so sad and forlorn. Every thing about her radiated her sadness. Her eyes were outlined in black, her lips, fingernails, toenails, and eyelids were all black. She had had managed a sad smile before she sent a dozen black roses on the table before him and a rolled up paper. Her last words still fresh in his mind, even now.

"Tell Inutaisho I'm sorry I was unable to protect Inuyasha and even sorrier that he has to endure this pain. I hope that you in the least don't hold this against me Sesshou in the end I did everything I could. I've devoted my whole life to protecting you and Inuyasha and now that I've lost Inuyasha I think it my be best if I leave you be as well. Goodbye Sesshomaru or as the case maybe my little Sesshou."

Sesshomaru had reached out to her but found her gone. The air still smelled of her and he had taken the moment to imprint her scent into his mind. He remembered the soft words she'd spoken to him when he was little though he had never actually seen her he remembered someone calming his tears and calling him Sesshou. He smiled sadly and felt his beast whimper. He sighed he knew that she was the one it wanted and if he was going to be honest with himself she was the one he wanted as well and no other would ever do. Since Kagome had disappeared the Western Lands had suffered greatly and Sesshomaru knew it was because his fathers heart was broken so completely that only one person could never possibly mend it and even then it would remain forever cracked. Sesshomaru was starting his third year of college in a few weeks, when he smelt a familar scent and followed it to a secluded grove of trees and standing there before him was the woman who had captured his mind and heart so completely without even being before him physically in almost four years since the death of Inuyasha.

"Long time no see Sesshou."

Kagome looked at him with unwavering eyes her emotions shimmering in her eyes freely for the first time in centuries. She had finally taken her fathers words to heart and found a way to open up without feeling so lost and the reason for her change stood right before her. She had found that he had kept a part of her with him even after she had left. She had always failed to see when things changed about her but noticed everything that changed about others. She was sure that somewhere between him not backing down from her and him bringing her that picture he'd painted he had captured her heart.

"Why?"

"Father wished me gone and so I left."

"He didn't mean it you know that so why leave?"

"Because we often speak the truth in our anger and hid it in our calmness. He words hurt more then you would ever know and so I left to seek a purpose in which my life was my own not someone elses to control and to protect you the last of my charges. The one I watched grow into a cold and calculating youkai who fears being rejected."

"Why did you not show yourself to me?"

"Because my own fear wouldn't let me do so."

"What is this fear of yours?"

"I feared the fact that I fell in love with you and yet might not be able to protect you."

Sesshomaru stood there in shock for a moment then slowly he begna moving closer to her until he was a breath away from touching her. He wanted so bad to touch her to tell her about how he'd fallen for her and desired her in a way no other could compare.

"You love this Sesshomaru?"

"Yes, I do. I've never left your side though you didn't know it I was always with you. Except when you took the other girls and woman to your bed. I always gave you your privacy then."

He could hear the hurt in her voice when she spoke of the other woman. His heart clenched and he made her look him in the eyes.

"They were nothing but stress relievers. This Sesshomaru loves you as well Kagome. I've spent the last three years wishing you would appear before me again so that I could hold you. I have missed you, onna."

Kagome smiled her first true smile in over eight hundred years and leaned into Sesshomaru holding him to her body. Sesshomaru leaned down and captured her lips in a searing kiss. It felt so good to be back with her and yet she had never really been his until now. A smile graced Sesshomaru's face after he pulled back from their kiss and simpliy stood there holding each other.

A/N: Please review and tell me what you think and where you think I should go with this story. But I can say in complete confidence that in they next chapter Leviation and Inutaisho will reappear since I kind of cut them out for a little bit while skipping up in time frames.
