Chapter II
Chapter 2
"Miroku, have you seen Kagome?" inquired Sango, glancing down the streets for any sign of their friend. Kagome was supposed to come over to their place for dinner, but she was running more than an hour late, and it was starting to get dark out.
"No, not since this morning." replied the monk, cupping his jaw within his hand as he thought of her possible whereabouts. He looked up at Sango after a moment of thought.
"How about you head towards the gates and search down the various streets, and I'll go have a quick chat with some of our neighbors." added the monk as he stood up and grabbed for his trusty staff.
"You don't think she's in danger, do you?" asked Sango, scooping up her ever trusty boomerang weapon.
"I doubt it, but it never hurts to be prepared for trouble." replied Miroku, heading out of the hutt door and down the street to the next several hutts. Sango soon left the hutts as well, heading towards the main gate.
* * *
"Lord Sesshomaru." spoke Miroku, coming to stand before the demon lord and his entourage.
"Monk Miroku. What is your buisness with me?" asked Sesshomaru, getting right down the point, again not wanting to waste time.
"We are looking for Kagome. Some of the villagers last saw her speaking to you. Can you inform me of her whereabouts?" inquired Miroku.
"She once again mis-took me for my dead half brother. After not so politley informing her of her mistake, she took off running towards the castle gates." answered Sesshomaru, simply and straight to the point.
"Night falls soon. I have a suspicion of where she is, I just hope she's all right." muttered the monk as he bade farewell before the demon lord, and exited the hutt.

Sango had no luck looking for Kagome within the castle walls, and was about to exit when Miroku joined her.
"Miroku, any sign of Kagome?" inquired Sango, becoming more worried by the moment.
"No, but I know where she is. She had another episode with Sesshomaru, and if I'm guessing right, she's probably at the tree of ages as we speak." replied Miroku.
"Ok, what are we waiting for, let's go." stated Sango. The two of them hurriedly went through the gate and started up the trail leading to Inuyasha forest.
On their way, they came across a group of three humans, standing in a small group, apparently talking amongst themselves.
"Men, you should enter the castle walls. It's night even as we speak, and no telling what dangers you may face out here." warned Miroku as he and Sango started to pass them.
"Oh, no need to tell us of that. It should be your own skins that you look out for, lest they be ripped from your flesh and bones." replied one of the humans, before the three of them moved to encircle Miroku and Sango.
"Bandits?" whispered Sango, asking the question that was on her mind.
"I'm not sure." whispered back Miroku, before turning again to address the three men.
"I don't know what your buisness is with us, but I warn you, you are getting in over your heads if you seek to challenge us." threatened Miroku.
"Is that so?" asked another one of the men.
"Indeed, it is. Now I suggest you stand aside before you join the land of the dead." came a voice from behind them. Two of the humans turned around to see none other than Lord Sesshomaru coming up the trail from behind them.
"Ah, the final player has arrived. Well brothers, shall we put on our performance?" asked the final human, looking between the monk, demonslayer, and demon lord.
"Indeed we shall. Look to the moon, brothers, and let our powers be unleashed." said what appeared to be the leader of the three humans, turning to confront Sesshomaru head on.
The three humans turned their gazes heavenwards, taking into their eyes the sight of the full moon hanging above their heads. All at once, something strange started happening to the humans.
Sesshomaru was the first to notice that something was different.
'Their scents, it's changing from one of a normal dirty human to one more....wolf like...' he thought to himself.
The three humans began growling in pain as, to the shock of their opponent's, their skin started turning to fur, and their hands began growing claws.
"They're transforming." said Miroku, in disbelief. This would be the first instance where he had seen humans transforming into demons.
What was strange though is that none of them could detect a demonic aura.
Their transformation complete, the three....wolves...., standing on their hind feet, let loose ferocious snarls, before heading on the attack.....
