Chapter 3
A baby is born
Her pregnancy went relatively smooth her mother took midwife classes and birthed her baby boy and she was glad she did! it was her mother's idea that she train to birth the child in case he or she was born with hanyou ears or a tail. Kagome knew full well that hanyou's often held a 'mark' of their heritage like Inuyasha and his ears or Jeniji and his horse look plus the many other hanyou's she seen with un-ningen like looks (green hair or red eyes!). she knew that if a doctor was to see inu ears her baby would be taken from her and placed in a lab for testing and she would not allow that!
She has been in labor for the last 5 hours contraction after contraction she thought she was going to die. nothing she had ever experience felt this bad not even being shot through the back with an arrow! the worst was when her water finally broke the pain intensified ten fold and the contractions were closer together she knew it would be soon.
Mrs. Higurashi sat with her child in a room she set for the birthing couching her to breath trying everything she could to help with the pain. She could not give her child amnesiac because she was not licensed for it and she knew first hand how hard natural birth can be Kagome was after all a natural birthing. "breath Kagome Breath in in out, in in out. that a girl sweetie just keep breathing." Mrs. Higurashi said reassuringly.
Kagome followed her mother's instructions and found it did not help her any! all she kept thinking was 'i wish Sesshomaru was here with me' but he was not and there was nothing she could do about it at the moment and that fact killed her inside. It was the fact that she was not with him. she knew that were she with him he would have never turned into the youkai he did and that angered her. it angered her that he the great Sesshomaru revered and known for being emotionless allowed those emotions to sway his soul into darkness. she was disappointed.
"Ahhh" she screams as another contraction hits and her water brakes all over the birthing table.
When Kagome's water broke her mother went into birthing mode. water, face cloths, clamp and a knife all the basics for birthing a child. she was excited this was her grandchild hanyou or not she would love her grandchild regardless.
Mrs. Higurashi sat at the bottom of the birthing table with a clear view of her daughters unmentionables. she checks to see how far along her daughter is dilated "10 centimeters" she called to her daughter letting her know it was time. "push with your contractions" she told her daughter while looking at her with a smile it was almost time.
"Gahhh" Kagome screamed as she pushed with all her might. 'god it hurt worst then i could have ever imagined!' she thought in total dismay.
After a few pushes on Kagome's part her mother was able to see the crowning of the child's head in the birthing canal. "I can see the head Kagome we are almost there." she called excitedly "Push!"
"i am pushing! Gahhhh!" Kagome screamed as she pushed once more.
"Kagome the head is out! this one will be the hardest we have to get the shoulders out now!" her mother told her as she held the baby's head in her hand ready to support it once the shoulders are out.
Tears in her eyes she pushes with everything she had she felt like she was being tore open there was no greater pain. "Oh GOD!" she screamed in pain about ready to faint but she did not she held on desperate to see her child born safely.
The shoulders came out and her mother guided the rest out the hardest part was finished. she did not have time to actually see the child she was to busy with the cleaning of his nose, eyes, and mouth it was not until she actually handed the child to his mother did she notice.
"The baby! its not hanyou" she stated voice in total awe. there were nothing to show that the baby was a hanyou he had elf ears! "at least i don't think" she added in a confused voice. she had never seen a full youkai before so she had no clue what to expect.
"What do you mean mamma?" asked Kagome as she was waiting to see her baby. she was getting nervous what did her mother mean it was not a hanyou? of coarse it was a hanyou she is ningen and the father was youkai.
Mrs. Higurashi came to the bed with the baby boy cleaned and wrapped in a blanket "It's a boy!" she said handing the baby to Kagome.
Kagome gasped he was beautiful! he had silver hair 2 maroon strips down his cheek bone on each side of his face and a indigo blue crescent moon on his brow. she had no doubt that if the child's eyes were open it would be gold. the baby did have her lips, nose, and chin but he still looked like a splitting image of his father which was why the first name that left her mouth was the name of her new child "Sesshomaru".
"is that to be the baby's name?" her mother asked sitting beside her exhausted daughter after she had cleaned up all the after birth etc..
"He looks so like his father it makes only sense he be named just as much." Kagome said adjusting herself to feed her now wailing child. she looks over the child with not just her eyes and was surprised to see that the baby did not hold an aura of an hanyou instead her held the aura of a full blooded inu youkai.
Kagome did not care her child was a youkai she would love him all the same. she did however wonder how it was possible that she birthed a youkai and not hanyou. she later figured it had something to de with her being a Miko and thought on it no longer.

4 months has pasted since the birth of Sesshomaru and she was finally ready to continue her search for her mate. She was nervous to leave her baby but she knew it could not be helped she had to if she wished to find her mate. She had more of a reason now that the child was born then she had before. her child needs its father even if it is just a tombstone. It would offer a kind of closure that in other words would be in possible.
Her mother has been a godsend within that time she knew she was blessed with such a wonderful mother and told her as much often. For the first few weeks after the baby was born it was her mother that helped her with the feeding and everything else that needed to be done. it was her mother that searched for a week straight for an old magic book that offered her a spell to conceal her babies youkai marks so he could go out in public. she knew she would probably be a mess if it was not for her mother.
The baby was waned off the tit at 3 months when his fangs started to come in. she had the bit marks to prove it on one single breast. it was then that she knew her child would need to consume *gulp* blood. when the baby's fangs pierced her skin it was more interested in the blood from her wounds, it scared her at first but she realized it is in youkai nature after all. she could not count all the times she heard her mate say "I do not eat ningen food" he just meant that he eats raw meat. he was a inu after all and they are carnivorous. So now 1 month after the baby started to consume raw meat she decided it was time to seek out her mate and his father.

She was ready to start her search. her trust pack was full of food and camping things. she took her bow and a quiver of arrows in case she ran into an animal on her trek up a mountain. she knew exactly where she would start and it was in the western part of Japan her mates land. there was not much space left in the western part of Japan that was left untouched but there was one reserve and it was conveniently located around the mountain range in the Western Lands.
"Good luck honey and be careful." her mother called out to her as she got in the car to start her journey.
Kagome smiled and waved at her son and mother "Thanks Mom I will" she replied before she started the care and left the shrine. she hoped it would not take to long because she did not like leaving her mother with all the responsibility of taking care of her child , but of course her mother was supportive.
The drive took a good few hours before she was parked near the reservation ground. Kagome looked out the window at the huge fence blocking her way and hoped her arrows would work. she got out of the car with her pack, bow and quiver of arrows she walked towards the fence and slipped her bow off her shoulder and notched an arrow and took aim.
The arrow started to glow with her Miko energies and she let it fly. Kagome watched in fascination as the metal of the fence start melting under the power of her ki. With the hole ready Kagome drove her car into a nearby parking area and retrieves her camping gear in a familiar yellow pack.

A baby is born
