Chapter 3: Inuyasha's Plan
A/N I know that the honeymoon concept was non-existant in the feudal era. I'm hoping that a modern-day Kagome will have explained this new custom to her friends
IT'S MY STORY! I'LL WRITE IT ANYWAY I WANT TO(pouts)!
INUYASHA,S PLAN.
It was dark outside. The clouds were covering the moon. They had made camp in a clearing not too far from their destination. They were almost back home. Strangely enough, that's the way he considered Kaede's village, now. How long had they been on the road, anyways? At least, what, maybe two weeks?
They had heard of an Oni that was rumored to have a jewel shard in his possession in a village further south and all the havoc he was creating.
The bastard had put up a good fight, too, but he'd made a fatal mistake when he went after Kagome. Between Sango's HIRAIKOTSU and his WINDSCAR, there was nothing much left but a pile of ashes when they were through with him. Thankfully Miroku had been close enough to Kagome, when she'd been backhanded by that son-of-a-bitch, to catch her before she fell on the ground. He'd thanked Miroku twice after that incident and he still chuckled at the strange look that he'd gotten in return. Luckily, Kagome wasn't badly hurt, winded mostly, but she WOULD be sporting a slight bruise on her right cheek for a couple of days.
"No one, but no one hurts MY KAGOME and gets away with it!" Inuyasha quietly growled out, enraged.
After that morning when he had awoken by her side, Inuyasha knew that things were never going to be the same. Oh, Kagome had tried not to let anything show and he hadn't done anything to contradict her or, for that matter, stand in her way.
They had gone down to breakfast as if nothing had happened. But one look from her mother towards them....and she knew. Inuyasha was sure of it. Mrs. Higurashi wouldn't mention anything, but just by the way her eyes were twinkling at them, she knew, he could feel it inside of him. And Inuyasha always trusted his instincts.
It had taken the better part of the day for Inuyasha to finally shrug off all of the after-effects of that stupid incense. He'd been pretty doped up and that wasn't something that he was proud of.
What had angered him the most, though, was the way Sango and Shippo had laughed when Kagome had spilled the beans on him. Miroku had just looked like he felt sorry for him.
Shippo had made himself into a really big pain in the ass. HIS ASS! It had taken him all of his will power not kill the little shit, after the way he started dancing around, pretending to be a 'drunk Inuyasha'. Sango had fallen onto the ground in a fit of laughter, tears streaming down her cheeks. She was choking for air by the time that she was finished.
And let's not forget about Kagome. He'd been so PISSED OFF at her. She had tried to apologise but he hadn't listened. Instead, he'd taken off for his forest with the excuse that he needed to make sure that there weren't any dangers lurking nearby. He had DESPERATELY needed time to cool off, and it was a good three hours later when he had returned to find a very contrite miko from the future waiting for him.
Inuyasha stirred on his perch. High on the branch, he could see all around the camp. Nothing felt amiss. He relaxed and jumped down a couple of branches so that he could get a better look at his sleeping companions.
Especially one in particular.
"KAGOME..." His heart skipped a beat just by whispering her name. When had he fallen in love with her, he had no clue. He watched as she turned over in that contraption that she called a 'sleeping bag'. She looked as if she had been swallowed whole with only her head sticking out. Her hair fanned around her like a halo and he couldn't help but grin. To him, she looked like an angel. Shippo wasn't with her tonight, having opted to sleep with Kirara. Inuyasha was glad.
The runt was starting to take up a little too much space, or at least HE thought so. She spoiled him rotten and that little twerp could just about get away with anything. How many times had Inuyasha gotten the word, that dreaded word...."SIT!!!" because of the way he had retaliated to Shippo's teasing? There would be no more suffering on HIS part. Inuyasha was fed-up. Shippo needed to learn his place. THAT KID was NOT the leader of this pack. Neither were Sango and Miroku for that matter.
And it was time. Time for Kagome to know. Time for him to show this girl exactly where he stood and what he felt. Time to pick up where they had left off in her bedroom. Inuyasha was tired of waiting, biding his time.
When Kagome had fallen through the well, she had been carrying the Shikon No Tama inside of her, unbeknownst to her. It took a demon centipede to rip it out of her. Ever since the jewel had been shattered, they'd been hunting for the shards. Now it was nearly completed. Only a few shards remained. Everyone was wondering what would happen to Kagome once this quest was over. Everyone except him. He knew. And now, Inuyasha would show them. He would show them all!
In the two weeks that they had travelled around, he'd been forming a plan in his head. He had stumbled upon, in very secluded area that was surrounded by beautiful, wild roses, a cave that was close by hot springs that ran off near the foot of a waterfall. The pool that was formed by this particular waterfall, wasn't too deep, with crystal clear water, and had a nice sandy bottom.
Huge, flat slabs of rocks were strewn here and there, as if they had been strategically placed around just for him, AND his plans. As for food, it was there in abundance. Either in the nearby stream that ran off from the pool, or by the woods beyond the roses.
And...it was close to their village. He'd found it when he had taken off to cool down. All in all, it was the perfect setting for what he had in mind.
This was the place that he had chosen. This was where he would bring Kagome. This was where he would ask her, on bended knee as young men did in her time, to be his mate, his wife. He would mate with her here by Inuyoukai rites, if she were willing, and then they would go back to her time, after their honeymoon, to tell her family, eventually getting married by their customs.
After being blood-bonded, her fate would be sealed. The well would NEVER close itself up, for the very simple reason that HIS blood will have been mixed with hers. It would recognize his, from the past, along with her own from the future. And BECAUSE of this, his blood BEING from the past, that both HE AND KAGOME...,AND EVENTUALLY THEIR PUPS, would be granted continued access from one time to another, from one family to the other, of this he was sure of. He could feel it in his bones.
"PUPS" Inuyasha murmurred out loud, blushing. 'Would Kagome want any kids of her own? Our own?' he asked himself. She was good with them. Any dolt could see that just by the way she treated Shippo, and Rin whenever she saw her.
Then Inuyasha scowled angrily;
'Unfortunately, for Shippo that is, there were a couple of changes that were gonna be made after they'd returned from their honeymoon. Of that he was DAMNED sure of. There was no way in HELL that he was gonna share THEIR bed with that little twerp!!'
He shrugged himself off and jumped down from the branch that he'd been sitting on ever since the others had fallen asleep. He walked over towards Kagome and looked down at her sleeping form, remembering what had transpired in her bedroom only a couple of weeks ago.
Inuyasha had seen her watching him when she thought that he wasn't looking. He knew that she'd wanted to talk to him about it. Kagome had even tried to broach the subject a few times, but had been interupted at every attempt. He smirked at that thought.
"Soon, my sweet Kagome, very soon. Not only will we talk about it, we shall relive it." Inuyasha softly whispered as he caressed her hair.
She stirred slightly, turning towards his voice, recognizing it even in her sleep. Stealthily, Inuyasha bent towards her, being careful so that his hair didn't fall over and tickle her. He wet his lips and brushed them against hers in a good night kiss. Well, to HIM it was, at least. SHE'D been sleeping for several hours, now.
Tomorrow would find them on their way back to Kaede's. If they were lucky, they'd arrive a little before lunch. Everyone could finally take a well deserved break. Inuyasha was willing to let Kagome rest a couple of hours, but after that he would make his move.
Everything was finally ready. He'd go to the cave to prepare it for them as soon as everyone had settled in at Kaede's hut. He wanted to make sure that everything was going to be perfect. But, even the best laid plans could go awry! Inuyasha was no fool, and he didn't want to tempt fate. He knew that he had to be very careful, and he would be. Kami help him!

They had made good time. By ten in the morning, they were all enjoying a hot cup of tea at Kaede's. Shippo had asked Kagome if he could go and play with his friends and she had agreed, knowing exactly just how much he'd missed them. Sango and Miroku had decided to go and sit together under their favorite tree. Kagome hoped that he could keep his hand under control this one time because she knew just how tired Sango was. And when Sango was tired, she became extremely short-tempered.
'WHACK!!!' "YOU HENTAI!!!"
"SANGO!!!" "I'M SORRY!!! IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!"
'BAM!!!' "THAT'LL TEACH YOU!!!"
Then silence fell over the village as everyone went about their seperate ways.
'Well, I guess HE'LL be sleeping for a little while, now.' Kagome thought to herself. She looked up at Inuyasha, who smirked, then winked at her, making her blush. Her eyes followed him as he got up from across the room.
"Kagome, would you mind watchin' over the fire for a little while? I need ta talk to Kaede. In private. Kaede, would ya mind walkin' with me? I need ta ask ya somethin', if ya don't mind?"....was what came from Inuyasha as he addressed both of the women in Kaede's hut.
"Uhh, sure, Inuyasha. What's up?"
"I said it was private. Okay, Snoopy?" Inuyasha chuckled at her nosiness, then turned to Kaede and asked: "Kaede, if you please?" The elderly miko stared at him. She had known this was coming from the minute that he had entered her hut.
"Aye, so now he's ready, is he? Tis about time that he sees her for the soulmate that she truly is to him. But is Kagome-chan READY for this BAKA? Ye can't help but wonder. And....maybe pity Kagome just a wee bit." Kaede chortled to herself as they turned to go walking down towards the river near the village.
About an hour later, Kaede returned to find a sleeping Kagome by the fire that she'd been tending. She didn't have the heart to wake the little miko, knowing that very soon Inuyasha would be taking care of that himself. It was exactly like she had felt it when their group had arrived.
They had walked all the way down to the river before he'd felt comfortable enough to start talking. After explaining his elaborate plan to her, he'd asked her for some advice.
She had deliberately taken her time, thinking it over very carefully (and letting him stew a bit), then Kaede had wholeheartedly agreed with him. She was clearly surprised by what he'd thought of, and very impressed. She had even said as much, making Inuyasha blush, but Kaede could tell that he was a bit proud of himself. She looked back towards Kagome and chuckled softly.
"Aye, sleep is exactly what ye be needing, my dear Kagome. If all works as your intended, Inuyasha...plans, come tomorrow night ye shall be a married woman and on yer honeymoon. By that time, sleep will be the farthest thing on both of yer minds."
Kaede whispered to the sleeping girl who was completely unaware of what lay ahead of her.
Well, here's Chapter three. I hope that everyone likes it, and yes, there will be a chapter four. In all liklihood, that's where the lemon is gonna be. I swear, I'm working on it, please just gimme some time. Thank you. lol
Until next time, I will luv ya and leave ya. JA NE
