Chapter 3 – They did what!?

The small hand delicately traced the features of the face and sighed softly ‘tonight you would be a human…’

The dark sky hid the figures in the night, a soft crying could be heard nearby, and the figure standing over the hanyou’s body stood up. It held up a shard of the Shikon jewel that was tainted black, the being looked over to a human child it had tied to a tree “ok let’s start…” it said as the child began crying harder.


In the village everyone ate dinner quietly still unable to comprehend why someone would steal Inuyasha’s body. Kaede put her dishes aside “ye can stay here for the night if ye wish…”

Miroku stood “I’m not tired” he stated, “I’ll get a torch and search the surrounding area’s again.”

Kaede nodded knowingly and looked at the girls “Kagome would you stay behind?” the older miko saw she was about to object, “we need someone here to watch the village and Shippo.”

Kagome looked to the kitsune who had fallen asleep on her backpack “ok” she whispered.

Sango stood “I’ll take Kirara and see if she can catch his scent this time…”

They all agreed to meet back later and went there separate ways, Kagome felt somewhat useless but shook it off as she covered Shippo up and waited for her friends return.


He blinked and scratched his head “where am I?”

“Your with me” said someone from the shadows “your mine now Inuyasha.”

“Who are you?” he asked standing up.

The figure emerged from the darkness “I am Kanna the Void.”

Inuyasha smiled slightly “hello Kanna.”

She had the jewel embedded into his spinal cord enough to give him life but also block his memories; she had learned it from Naraku when she watched him do it to Kohaku.

“I need you to protect me,” she said as she held a clay jar up “this holds my heart, I took it while Naraku was weakened.”

Inuyasha scratched his head confused but agreed “ok.”

Kanna handed him the jar and held her mirror carefully as she grabbed his hand “you’ll be more powerful in the morning” she said softly.

He didn’t understand but nodded making his long black hair move around, Kanna began pulling him towards the west “my sister has gone to Sesshomaru for help.”

Again he didn’t question it he just held her hand and allowed himself to be led away.


The sun would rise within an hour or two and Miroku was tired but he still searched on, he felt something amiss nearby and followed his instincts. He gasped when he broke through the clearing as he saw a small child tied to a tree; he rushed over to inspect “he’s already dead,” he said as he started praying.

He was startled slightly when he heard a loud thud behind him, but relaxed when he heard Sango “Houshi-sama?”

He stood and turned “I found this child tied up here” he said, “he’s dead.”

Sango looked away sadly but spoke “Kirara found Inuyasha’s scent here.”

Miroku nodded “lets go tell Kagome and Kaede, if we move fast enough we may be able to catch up to the person responsible for this.”

Sango nodded and helped the monk onto Kirara’s back before taking off to the sky.


Naraku felt his body returning to it’s original state as the sun began to rise, when he was finished he dressed and made his way from the basement. He quirked an eyebrow as he felt something was out of place, he entered his chambers and saw Kohaku waiting for him.

The boy spoke in his emotionless tone “Kagura and Kanna have found their hearts and made a run for it.”

Naraku snapped and his aura flared, outside the castle the animals in the forest took off when they heard him roar “THEY DID WHAT!?”
