The Races

Chapter 3

Inuyasha and Naraku both pulled there cars up to the starting line and waited until they got the sign to go. They both peeled out and took off down the road. Naraku followed closely by Inuyasha.

Being a higher level race the race was longer and at a higher speed what Kagome’s had been. The both maneuvered and swerved avoiding whatever obstacle that was placed in their way. Naraku and Inuyasha both fought for first place as they came closer to the finish line. Inuyasha pulling ahead won by a nose as he pulled in front of Naraku just after the last bend.

“Shit!” Kagome yelled. “He lost, Damn it.” Kagome swore.

“Such language on a lady.” Sesshoumaru said.

“It’s not like I have to impress you Sesshoumaru Tashio.” Kagome said.Sesshoumaru was shocked but he didn’t show it except for a slight widening of his eyes. “Yes I know you and who you are.” She said after she caught his shock. “I also know you are the heir to the western Domain, and you father co. owns Tashio-Kitsune Inc.”

“So you have done your homework I will give you that, but if you plan to use that and weasel your way into my money forget it.” Sesshoumaru growled.

“Please Mr. Stick-up-your-ass. I have my own money; from my inheritance and my winning from the races I have won so go shove it.” Kagome bit out, “And besides it’s not like if I ever ran out I couldn’t ask my step-father or my older brother. God, you’re so stuck in your own little world thinking that every one is out to get you. Well wake up and smell the cappuccino Sesshoumaru not every one is like the gold diggers you obviously hang around.”

Once Kagome was done with her rant she was being held a foot off the ground by a clawed hand. “Wench you know nothing of this Sesshoumaru.”

“Oh, struck a nerve did I?” Kagome said with a smug smirk on her face before the hand around her throat tightened. Shippo went to make a move but Kagome stopped it, “No, Shippo I will handle this.”

“How, little human, do you plan to handle…” His little speech was cut off by the miko energy forming around her person. “Bitch you’re a miko.” He said as he dropped her.

“Thank you, I worked hard for that title, unless in fact you were referring to me being your bitch then I would have to disagree.” She said as she took deep breaths through her abused throat.

“Kagome are you ok?” Shippo ran to her to help her up to her feet.

“Shippo what would your father say to you hanging around this riffraff?” Sesshoumaru asked as Shippo helped Kagome up.

“He wouldn’t say any thing Sesshoumaru, she is my sister.”

Again his eyes widen slightly. Sesshoumaru looked at her “So you’re Kagome Hiurashi. As in Krane Higurashi’s only daughter.” He emphisized the last part.

“Yeah so what of it. Now you see why I know so much about you?” Kagome asked as Naraku walked up.

“Know what about who?” Naraku asked as he noticed Kagome’s bruised neck. “What the hell happened to you?” he asked inspecting her neck.

Kagome pushed him away, “Nothing just a disagreement between friends, right Sesshoumaru?”

“Hn.” Was the only response she got.

Inuyasha came walking over then with a hug grin on his face. He grabbed Kikyo up swung her around and then kissed her until she fought for breath. “I won babe.” He said as he finally set her down.

Kagome now noticed how both were dressed to match white tops and red bottoms. When are as Kikyo wore a red mini-skirt where Inuyasha wore red leather pant. ‘Ew’ Kagome thought.

“Sesshoumaru your race is coming up.” Inuyasha said trying to break the tension in the air. His efforts were rewarded because immediately you could feel every one relax a bit.

Sesshoumaru started to walk away until he threw over his shoulder, “Sit back little girl and watch how a real racer drives.”

At that he walked away. “Well guys I’m tired I want to go to bed. I wish to get some rest before school tomorrow.” With that Kagome walked off to get her winnings.

“She’s not going to stay and watch he’s really good.” Naraku said.

“No, this is her way of getting even with him.” Shippo said as he walked away to go after Kagome.

Sesshoumaru sat in his car and watched as Kagome walked away from his brother, towards ‘The Race Master’ as she liked to be called. He watched as she handed her, her money and then Kagome and Shippo head to her car and drive off.

Sesshoumaru growled while he thought ‘That Bitch, she didn’t even stay to watch me race.’ He thought as he got the go.

He, being in the top level of racers had the longest, fastest and hardest course. But he maneuvered with ease and finished first as always. He collected his winnings and he and his brother headed home so they could get a few hours of sleep before school.

When they got home Inuyasha pulled Sesshoumaru aside, “Hey what was up with Kagome’s neck after my race, Please, tell me you didn’t attack her.” He said.

“Yes, I lost my patience with her and I grabbed her by her neck.” Sesshoumaru replied.

“You like her don’t you?”

“What is to like she is nosy, stuck up, and a bitch.” Sesshoumaru replied.

“Yeah but you wish she was your bitch and she gives you a challenge unlike most of the other girls you come into contact with.” Inuyasha laughed. “Just don’t be too hard on her; her step-father and our father are good friends.”

“Thank you Captain Obvious, tell me something I don’t know.” Sesshoumaru said sarcastically.

“You have a booger hanging out of you left nostril.” Inuyasha said while smirking already knowing his brothers reaction.

“Are you serious?” Sesshoumaru asked as he wiped his nose.

Inuyasha just laughed and walked away to his room.

Kagome and Shippo got home and parked the car and went into the house silently. Until they reached the top of the stairs, “And where the hell have you two been, and don’t lie.” Tasukie asked from the door way of his room.

“Well you see I was out street racing and Shippo Just happens to be my biggest fan so I brought him along.” Kagome commented.

“You know I told you not to lie.” Tasukie said with a sneer.

“I don’t think she was dear.” Kagome’s mom said from inside the bedroom as she laid a hand on his shoulder.

“I’ll bet you were out doing a drug deal and now you’ve pulled my son into it too haven’t you?” Tasukie accused with a finger point.

“Oh yes, cause I love crack, I am absolutely coo-coo for crack. And I have no consideration for any one and want to drag the whole family into a never ending abyss of crack houses. Doesn’t that sound like fun Shippo?” She looked at her younger brother before continuing. “Look if you don’t believe me then you can come tomorrow night when I race again.” Kagome said before walking away into her room.

“That girl is no good I tell you.” Tasukie said to Mia as he shock his head and headed back into the bedroom. He paused when Shippo spoke up.

“Father she would not have been so sarcastic should you have believed her.” Shippo said before he too went to bed.
