Kagome stayed home on the following Saturday instead of going to one of the seniors parties knowing she’d end up seeing either Inuyasha or Kouga there. “Kagome where were you? You said you’d catch up but never showed!” Sango yelled over the phone.
“Something came up that’s all. I don’t want to talk about it.” Kagome couldn’t believe she was lying to her best friend like this. ‘Well its not really lying, I mean she didn’t ask what came up.’
“Really, what happened? Rin was really worried.” Kagome was now stuck. What was she suppose to do. If she told, Sango would either hate her for not saying so earlier or beat the crap out of Kouga. It took her a while but she thought of something.
‘I hope she didn’t notice my pause.’ Kagome took a breath and started. “Well I was on my way out when Kouga wanted to talk, but then Inuyasha showed up and…” She froze. That’s as far as her thoughts went for this.
“Yeah and… what? Don’t worry you can tell me.” Sango said in the best voice of reason she could. “Ok, so we talked a while, and he just said I look nice. That’s all.” Kagome felt like crap. ‘I’m so going to hell for this.’
“OMG! I told you. This is so out of notice.” Kagome just wanted to die at that moment after hearing her friend’s cheerful glee.
“Its funny how at the same time, after leaving the locker room I found a note on my car windshields. At first I thought it was a ticket and was about to tare it but then I saw the big purple letters saying ‘SANGO’.”
“Ooh… so you have a secret admire?” Kagome was glad the subject changed.
“I know isn’t it great? It said he’d be asking me out at the party tonight.” ‘I can’t believe this. Now I’ll be the only one without a boyfriend.’
Kagome was frustrated with this, but was still happy for her friend. “That sounds great.” ‘Yeah, great for her.’ “I can’t wait to show you the note at the party tonight.” That’s when she was shocked into her senses. ‘I completely forgot.’
“Sorry I won’t be able to go. Since I missed the study session. I’ll have to study on my own tonight.” That’s two lies in a row. She’s a mad woman. “Oh Okay. I’ll talk to you later then.”
Kagome was feeling a bit bad about this and decided to go for a walk. “Maybe I’ll stop by the Mega Scoop head over to the park.” She needed to think this through. ‘What if Sango finds out?’ That’s was her first thought but definitely not her last.
