“Why did those children stop playing with you, Shippo?” Shamira asked the little boy as they walked through the village.
“It’s because I’m a demon.”
“A demon?” Shamira’s eyebrows shot up.
“Yeah. Haven’t you ever heard of demons before?” His pointy ears twitched.
“Yes, I have but they look a little different.”
The little boy looked questioningly at her. “You’re not from around here are you?”
“Why do you ask?”
“You look funny.”
Shamira frowned, “How so?”
“Well, most humans here have black or dark brown hair.”
Shamira combed her fingers through her current blonde hair. She glanced at the villagers around her. Shippo was indeed correct. Not only did they have black or brown hair but their clothing were quite different from her white, haltered gown. While they had a big piece of fabric around their waist, she had a silver belt. The women’s legs were covered while her legs were exposed as she walked. The same villagers she gaped at were staring back at her. Wide blue eyes turned back to Shippo.
“Your eyes are strange too. Well, for a human anyway.”
Shamira smiled sweetly at him, “Well, you are very observant.”
Shippo blushed, “So where are you from?”
“Well, I’m from –“
“INUYASHA!” An exasperated voice interrupted. A girl stood in the distance. Her hands were on her hips. Standing in front of her was a boy with silver hair that flowed over his red pants. On his head were two furry triangles that appeared to flatten against his hair. Shamira could only see his side profile. His arms were crossed in front of him and he mumbled something.
“Sit boy!” the girl shouted. The red clad boy hit the floor causing dust to fly around him.
Shamira gasped and her brows shot up to her hair line. Shippo patted her leg.
“Don’t worry, this happens all the time. Besides, Inuyasha’s half demon, he’ll be up in no time.”
The red clad boy shot up.
“Whad you do that for?” He growled. Shippo ran and leaped to Kagome’s shoulder.
“You leave Kagome alone!”
“Stay out of this, runt! You don’t even know what we were talking about.”
“But you always say something stupid.”
Inuyasha snarled. Shippo stuck out his tongue. Inuyasha made a grab for Shippo.
“Sit boy.” Inuyasha’s face was replaced with a cloud of dust.
Shippo laughed and looked toward the spot that he had left his new friend, but she was no longer there. He glanced around.
“Where did she go?” He whispered
“Where did who go?” Kagome asked.
Shippo frowned. “Nobody.”
