Battle Cry

Inuyasha thought with
confusion.  Why does she look at me with so much hate…and most of all regret? style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  His mind was swimming, clouded by naïve
notions.  What did I do? I have to go look for her.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  On that last thought, Inuyasha’s nose
perked, Blood?...but,
whose?  He closed his eyes and tried
to concentrate on the smells that surrounded him, when suddenly… it hit
him.  Kagome…

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Breaking into a frantic run, he raced through the
forest until her saw her frame leaning against a tree.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Her sobs were pulling at his heart sorely,
and upon focusing on her he could see the blood trailing down her arms.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  His blood froze and his eyes went wide in
terror as he stormed up beside her.

“Kagome
what the hell are you doing!”
Inuyasha cried in alarm as he vainly struggled to pry the knife from her grasp.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “No leave me alone!” She screamed as the tears
streamed down her cheeks.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Never, I will never leave you alone Kagome!”
Inuyasha said in a low and shaky voice. 
Kagome just stared at him coldly.

“Liar,
how dare you say that to me?”  She
countered as she slid down to the base of the tree.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  She suddenly looked as if she were in a daze
as she drew the knife to her forearm and made a deep slash right in front of
him.  He winced as if she had cut
him.  “Liar you’re full of lies,
Inuyasha.  You said you would always
protect me and stay by my side.”  She
snapped from her daze and locked his amber eyes in an icy stare; her voice
becoming almost mocking.  “Are you
protecting me from my pain now Inuyasha? 
Were you by my side when I needed a shoulder to lean on?style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  No, Inuyasha you never were. So stop the
crap!” Kagome yelled.

“Kagome…
I… I'm so sorry, I didn’t know I hurt you so much. Sit my ass to hell … I
deserve it for what I have done.” Inuyasha said, lowering his head in shame at
the last part.  Kagome stood, slowly
walking up to the hanyou; placing her hands on the enchanted beads at his neck.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Rolling the strand between her fingers, her
gaze met his for only a moment; coldly. 
Blinking away stray tears, she ripped the necklace away; sending the
freed beads and fangs to the ground. 

“Those
moments are erased this pain is something that will never fade. Inuyasha, you
are a disease that would never vanish from my body… there was no antidote, but
I found one when you left.” She smiled bitterly.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  “I found one the only way
I can make the emotional pain subside is by making those scars you left me with
real… feeling my blood stain my skin… but this is not me hurting myself
Inuyasha...” Kagome looked away from him in tears, yet she felt numb.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  “It isn’t me who hurts myself Inuyasha, it’s
you…you are the one who causes this skin to be adorned with these hideous scars…
it’s you that makes this blood pour from my veins.”style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Inuyasha was silent, he couldn’t move, he
couldn't breath.  When he looked up from
the spot he had found on the ground, she was already gone.

style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Kagome
I’m sorry. Inuyasha thought painfully as he kneeled to the ground.style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  Sullenly he began to gather the freed beads
of subjugation.
