Desperado 3 – His Queens
Inuyasha’s face froze stiff. What did all this mean? Who was the Queen of Hearts and who was this, Queen of Diamonds? The old fortuneteller stood up. Even though she was old, she stood up perfectly straight. It was almost as though her demeanor deceived her.
“Young hanyou, its time for you to leave. Keep in mind your battle, and keep the Queen of Hearts close to yours.” She smiled delicately, baring the toothless gums once more and shoved him out. Inuyasha heard the door slam behind him.
“Hey, what a second! Aren’t you going…” He paused. “Finish…. that…” Gone. She was totally gone. The hut. The smell. The old woman. Gone. He put his palm to his forehead and scrunched his eyes tightly. It was the air. The pollution was getting to his head. This whole thing…was just a dream. His imagination gone wild. There was no old lady and there was no fortune.
“I’m getting worked up for nothing.” He growled and stalked away. From the shadows of the alley, the woman smirked. Her lips were ruby red and her pale hair framed a slender face.
“Things will become clearer to you soon hanyou. You will understand this…” In her fingers she held the Shikon no Tama. It was whole. It was pure. “You’ll see me again soon…”

Kagome relax upstairs in her room. Her mother had come up earlier with some dinner for her, some ice and a pillow for her foot. It felt nice to get waited on. Inuyasha never waited on her, although she was sure he would wait on Kikyo is he could. The thought made her upset. Her cheeks burned with rage. Why did she continue to compete with here? Kagome felt as though she had won already today. When Inuyasha kissed her, she felt so alive so vibrant. She had felt as thought he had never loved another woman. She was his first and only. No one else mattered to him. But she knew that was a fantasy as well. She sighed and hugged her stuffed bunny animal. That’s all she would ever have is her fantasies…Unless Inuyasha really did want her like that. But, that would only happen if Inuyasha wanted –her-. Not her because she was Kikyo, but her, as Kagome. She wondered now if Inuyasha was really kissing her today, or if he had picture Kikyo in his mind. The thought made Kagome cry.
There was a gently knock at the door. “Kagome?” a small, masculine voice said through the door.
“Yes, who is it?” She blinked. She knew, she just couldn’t believe it was him.
Hojo opened the door. In his arms was a huge arrangement of flowers. Roses, daisies, poppies, lilies. Kagome could hardly believe her eyes. Hojo smiled gently at her. “So, it is true, you really did hurt your foot.”
Kagome blushed. Hojo had found out a few months ago that all of Kagome’s illnesses were just lies to cover up her passing through time to the feudal era. Kagome would never forget that day.
* Flash back *
She had come home from the past because of a huge exam she had coming, and because her and Inuyasha had had another argument. She went to school the next day, and like always, Hojo had something for her latest illness.
“It’ll help with the swelling Kagome. He smiled his innocent smile that made her friends giggles mercilessly. He blushed gently. “Kagome, I was wondering…I know that every time we go out, you usually leave because you’re not feeling well…”
‘If he only know the truth…’ Kagome thought to herself.
“But I was wondering…do you think we can go out tomorrow? I can help you study for your exam. Please say you will?”
Kagome smiled. She needed all the help she could get, and she didn’t feel like being alone either. “Sure Hojo, I’ll see you tomorrow after school.”
That’s exactly what she did. She met him after school the next day. The two walked to the park for their study time. Hojo made sure Kagome was comfortable, he almost spoiled her with attention.
‘I wish Inuyasha would take notice like Hojo does…Than again, Hojo thinks I’m always sick. Thanks Gramps.’ She smiled as Hojo went on about the latest remedy for ear infections.
“Kagome…theres something I wanted to know…” He blushed. “You see, I had an alternative motive for inviting you here today.”
Kagome blinked. He what?! “What are you talking about Hojo?” She sipped the energy shake he had given her. It tasted horrible.
Hojo took her hand, which made her heart jump. “Kagome, I wanted to know…if you….you see…I want to take care of you…and I want to know…if…if you’d let me.” He looked her in the eyes. “Kagome, will you be my girlfriend?”
Kagome nearly dropped her drink. ‘His girlfriend?! What about Inuyasha…what about the feudal era? How am I supposed to be his girlfriend when I’m always in the feudal era, not sick in bed!’ She started to panic. What was she going to tell him? Should she say yes? No, she knew better than that. Inuyasha would go through the roof. “Hojo, I….”
“It’s okay Kagome…I understand. You’re ill too often, we would have much of a relationship anyways.” He never let go of her hand. Instead, he stared at her more intensely. “May I kiss you though Kagome? Its something I have always wanted to do. Can I at least have that, if I cannot have you?”
‘Curse you Hojo! Why do you have to be so romantic? Why can’t I be a normal girl, and have a normal boyfriend?’ She hardly realized she was nodding until his hand was on her face and his lips gently touching hers. It wasn’t her first kiss, but there was more in this kiss she thought. He was so gentle. Kagome closed her eyes and returned his kiss. She almost regretted doing that. What would Inuyasha say? ‘Oh to hell with Inuyasha. Its not as though he never kissed Kikyo!’
Kagome never took notice as to how long they were kissing for, but it had been a while. When they finally pulled away from each other, her lips were numb and red, as were Hojo’s. He smiled broadly at her and took her into his arms, to cuddle her. “I guess we should go back to your place and study for your biology exam tomorrow, huh?” Kagome blushed, which earned a gentle laugh from Hojo.
“Hojo, there’s something you shou..” She stopped and tossed her head to the water. ‘No way! A jewel shard? Here?!’ She bit her lip. She would never make it to the well in time to call for Inuyasha. “Hojo! RUN!”
“Kagome…what…what are you talking about?” He blinked as she dragged him from the blanket on the ground. He followed her, amazed at how fast she could run for someone who had back problems. He found it quite odd really that she looked healthier than ever, and yet she was sick all the time. But why were they running?
Kagome could hardly believe it. A jewel Shard here in the modern era. She could only remember one other time when a jewel shard was found here. It was in the Noh Mask that had been sealed in the storage shed. Inuyasha saved her that time, this time, she was on her own…and she had to protect Hojo too.
“Kagome! Duck!” Hojo jumped at her and tackled her to the ground. The demon had shown its ugly face. It was a Cyclops demon, gray and wrinkled. It dripped with water and had a stench that could kill a dog. ‘Thank God Inuyasha isn’t here.’ Kagome thought plugging her nose.
“Hojo! We need to find cover hurry!”
“This way Kagome!” He jumped to his feet and grabbed her hand. Kagome noticed he was holding his left side. ‘Oh no, he’s hurt!’ Kagome winced herself. He got hurt protecting her. True, Inuyasha had been hurt a million times worse…but he was a half demon, Hojo is a human. The demon roared.
“Jewel shards! I need more jewel shards!”
Hojo pulled Kagome into a shed of some kind. He leaned against the wall, wincing in pain. Kagome rushed over to him. “Hojo, are you okay? Let me see your chest.” With out an answer from him, she ripped open his shirt. There was bruising, but she couldn’t feel any breaks, however, he could have a cracked rib. She felt so bad for this. “Hojo, we need to get you to a hospital and soon.”
He nodded and looked at her. “Kagome…what is that thing?” He was scared.
“A demon Hojo.” She said no more than that. He nodded. He understood. But he had a million questions to ask her. How did she know? They heard screaming coming from outside. The demon was attack people. He kept screaming for Kagome’s jewel shards.
“If only I had a bow with arrows…” she frowned and looked around.
“A bow? Why do you need a bow Kagome? You aren’t going to fight that thing are you?” Hojo’s eyes widened.
“I have to Hojo…Look, when this is all over, I’ll explain everything to you. I promise. I won’t let the demon hurt you again.” She turned and looked out the door. She had to stop it. Innocent people were getting hurt. But how? She had no weapons…And she didn’t have Inuyasha. She clenched her fists tightly. The demon turned in her direction. It knew she was there. ‘I have to get away from here….I have to leave Hojo…’
“Kagome…” Hojo held her shoulder. “There’s an archery club building down the road.” The look in his eyes made her want to cry. They were so still, weak, and yet full of faith and trust. Kagome nodded. Gently, she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him goodbye.
“I’ll be back.”
Kagome ran as fast as she could. She could see the building Hojo has mentioned. She never knew it was there to be honest. She figured it was because she had been in the feudal era too long to notice anything new in Tokyo. Kagome’s heart was racing at an unbelievable pace. She could feel it pump faster than she could run. ‘Almost there, almost there.’ She repeated over and over in her head. The demon was catching up with her. She could almost feel it breath on her neck. She dared to look back. It was on her heals, no more than 10ft from her. She panicked again. There was no way she was going to get to the building in time. She shut her eyes, wishing for Inuyasha to come and save her. At that moment she tripped. With a scream she landed face first on the ground. She groaned pushing herself up slowly, turning to see the demon hovering over her, and the building within arms reach.
“KAGOME!” Hojo’s voice rang through her ears and time stood still when she saw him jump into the air and swing something that looked like a baseball bat over the demon’s head. It snapped like it was a twig. The demon stopped its assault on Kagome and turned around to Hojo. It was not happy.
“Kagome! Hurry and get inside! I can hold it back!” He trembled. Kagome wasted no time and ran into the building. She looked around. ‘Where did they keep everything?!’ Outside, she could hear Hojo’s cries.
“HOJO!” Kagome backed up seeing the demon carrying in what looked like a dead human teenager. Tears ran down her cheeks. “HOJO!” She took off running down the hall again. ‘You’re weak and pathetic. Why don’t you just give up already and stop running? He’s already killed Hojo, just give up!’ A voice in her head kept saying. She could hear the demon’s musty laughter behind her. She hadn’t realized she has her eyes closed. When she opened them, she found she was a dead end. There were 2 doors on either side of her. She went to her right. Arrows.
“What luck!” She smiled and looked for a bow. There wasn’t one. “This won’t help me any…” Kagome frowned, seeing the demon again. She moved left and opened the door. The bows. Kagome’s heart jumped for joy and she grabbed the nearest bow. “Alright, that’s it mister, you are so going to pay now for interrupting my day! Huh…AHHH!!” The demon threw Hojo at her…They hit the wall behind her with a hard enough thud to crack the drywall.
“The jewel shards….give me the jewel shards now!” It demanded. Kagome groaned…trying to get to her feet. When she had, she growled dangerously, the wind picking up around her eerily.
“Over…my…dead…body!” She put the arrow on the string and pulled back. The arrow radiated brighter that ever before. A piercing twang filled the now silent building. Hojo’s eyes opened to see. The arrow struck the demons heart, embedding itself in the core of the demon’s power. It hollered in pain before being purified. The jewel shard fell to the floor and Kagome picked it up, turning to Hojo.
“There’s something I need to tell you…” Kagome started, and then fainted.
*End Flashback*
“Hello? Earth to Kagome?” Hojo smiled. He had recovered wonderfully from his injuries. He never told anyone what happened…He said the last thing he remembered was hitting the demon before it could harm Kagome. Kagome said she couldn’t remember anything passed that point either. No one seemed to want to argue with them either.
Kagome blushed. “I’m sorry Hojo, I was just thinking about a few months ago.” She smiled. “You were really brave.”
Hojo put the flowers down and sat on her bed. “I was terrified…But I couldn’t stand the idea of that thing hurting you. If anyone is brave around here Kagome, its you. You have to deal with that every time you go back to that era. And from what you’ve told me, there are far worse demons than that one.” He held her hand and she smiled.
“Yeah, that’s true. But I have my friends to protect me.”
“Oh yes, the demon slayer, the monk and the half demon, right?” Kagome nodded. “Well, I’m glad you have such strong friends.”
“Me too.” Kagome stared at Hojo for a while. The experience with the demon had changed him a lot. He seemed more protective of Kagome, but no as obsessed with her as before. She guessed it was because he learned that she wasn’t a wimp and she wasn’t really sick. It was all a hoax.
“So, uh…Kagome…how did you hurt your foot?”
“Oh…that…well…I fell…silly me.” She laughed, not wanting to tell him she hurt herself running away from Inuyasha. “I fell going to the well. Its nothing big…I’ll be fine in a couple days.”
“And then you’ll be back there?” His face shadowed.
Kagome nodded. “Hojo, I have to go and help. I need to get back all the jewel shards. We’ve been over this.”
“I know, I know…I just…I have a hard time dealing with it, that’s all…I can’t stand the thought of you running for your life every day. That…that…half demon might not be there to protect you all the time Kagome.”
“Inuyasha.”
“What?” Hojo blinked at her.
“His name is Inuyasha…He won’t let anything happen to me. He protects me with his life every day.”
Hojo smiled gently. “I’ll have to thank him then when I finally meet him.” He leaned down and kissed Kagome’s lips. Kagome blinked. He hadn’t done this since she told him she couldn’t be his girlfriend. She didn’t know what to do. Kiss him back, or push him away? What if Inuyasha walked in? There would be hell to pay. But before she could do anything, Hojo pulled away, smiling.
“I’ll see you later Kags. Hope your foot gets better and I’ll make sure I have all you’re homework ready for you when you get back. I’ll come back over and help you with it.” He left the room with a wave. Kagome blinked and then sighed deeply to herself. ‘Fine mess you’re in now Kagome…’
Hojo descended down the shrine steps. He saw a young man walking up to the temple with a bag of stuff. He seemed to be in a daze. ‘Does Kagome have a boarder or something?’ He stopped and watched the man.
Inuyasha looked up at the strange scent. He saw Hojo and his skin started to crawl. He smelled Kagome on him and he smelled the faint scent of an arousal. Inuyasha growled.
Hojo instantly froze when he heard the growl. He clenched his fists. Something wasn’t right about this guy.
“Who the hell are you?” Inuyasha barked.
“I’m…Hojo…Kagome’s friend…”
“Oh, so you’re the little twerp that nearly got killed a few months ago.” He got into his face. “What were you doing with Kagome?”
“I…I brought her flowers…I heard she hurt her foot.”
“What else?”
“Nothing!”
“Liar…I can smell your arousal.” His eyes burned with anger. “Don’t ever touch Kagome again, or I’ll rip your arms off, you got that?”
Hojo nodded shakenly, and then ran down the temple steps. Inuyasha snarled and looked at Kagome’s window. ‘What’s you’re game Kagome? Lead me on, and take what you want?’ He shook his head walking into the house. Instantly he was at Kagome’s door, pounding on it. “Kagome! Open up!”
“What is it Inuyasha?!” Kagome whipped open the door and watched him barge in. “HEY!”
“What was he doing in your room?!” Inuyasha growled.
“Who?”
“HOJO!” Inuyasha yelled.
“He brought me flowers. That’s it. He wanted to see how I was!”
“Oh, is that it?! Why was he aroused?! What were you doing that turned him on?”
Kagome froze and stared. “What…are you talking about?”
Inuyasha snorted. “I’m part demon remember. Part dog demon. I could smell it.”
Kagome blushed. Hojo was turned on by her? Wow…She turned to Inuyasha. “I can’t help it when I turn a guy on…Its not like I do it on purpose.”
“Feh.” He growled again and grabbed Kagome. Without hesitation, he took her lips into his, forcing his tongue into her mouth, getting a small and pleasured moan from Kagome. Kagome’s arousal instantly perked up. Inuyasha wanted more than just the smell. He wanted it all. He had to have it all. The feeling of another man taking Kagome from him, it was too much. The thought of someone taking Kikyo…that was painful as well. But he had Kagome here with him now. He wanted her now.
Kagome groaned. She felt her hands trailing along his body to his jeans. ‘God, those jeans…they’re just…so different on him.’ Kagome’s tongue fought with Inuyasha’s. She was losing. She kinda like it. She let her finger undo the button of his jeans. She could barely contain herself. There just something about the way he was kissing her that sent her over board.
Inuyasha nearly fell through the floor when he felt the pants fall to his ankles. He was completely nude from the waist down now, his arousal slowly peaking its way up. Without thinking a second longer he took off his shirt and earned a gasp from Kagome. She realized he was completely naked and wanting her now. He pushed her to the bed and laid inbetween her legs. Kagome moaned in his ear.
What was she doing? Kagome felt her body begging him to take her, but her mind said no. His hands were trailing up her shirt, removing it and her bra at the same time. Kagome arched her back when she felt his warm lips take her still soft nipple into his mouth. The feeling sent a wave of electrons through her body, down to her sensitive region. Inuyasha was not playing games this time. This time, she knew he would take away her innocence. She felt her skirt leave her body and her panties soon followed. There they were, both naked as the day they were born. Their bodies fitting tightly together. Inuyasha rocked into her body, not penetrating her yet. Kagome bit her lip as his hand ran down her leg and onto the inner part of her thigh. Inuyasha brought his mouth to hers, keeping her quiet for the moment as he roughly stuck two fingers inside of her. She felt a pain scurry through her body. She could not believe she was letting him do this. She had always imagined him being inside her, but now that it was happening…she wasn’t sure if she wanted it. His thumb rubbed against her clit, waves of pleasure numbed the feelings of doubt in her mind. She needed him now, more than ever.
Inuyasha loved the smell of her now. He would never forget this scent and would try to make her smell like this every night for the rest of his life. Regardless of who was around. Miroku, Sango, Shippou, Kirara. They could all watch for all her cared. That thought alone made him harder. Making love to Kagome in front of crowd to prove to the he loved her and not Kikyo…Kikyo? What about her? This was right. He knew it was. Kagome was the one he loved…She was….she was his Queen…his Queen of…
‘What is she the Queen of Inuyasha? Are you sure she’s your Queen of Hearts?’ The old woman’s voice rang in his ears. Inuyasha stopped what he was doing and stood straight up…Kagome had hit her orgasm at the same moment and was riding it out on his fingers.
‘Dear Inuyasha, have forgotten what I told you? Are you sure Kagome is one of your Queens?’
“Stop it…” He growled out loud.
‘Oh come now young half demon. What about Kikyo, do you not desire her as well?’
“No.”
‘You do. You want her to be your Queen of Hearts. But can you be so sure that’s the truth? Are you sure Kikyo isn’t the Queen of Diamonds?’
“Stop it!!” Inuyasha held his head. Kagome, recovered from her orgasm, sat up and looked at him.
“Inuyasha?” She touched his face but he pulled away.
“No, stop it! Shut up! No, I don’t know…..stop it! Stop it!” He fell to his knees. Kagome instantly wrapped her arms around him.
‘Don’t forget your fortune Inuyasha…the mistake will cost you your life.’ Imagines ran through his mind. Kagome…covered in blood, being taken from him by Naraku. Inuyasha unable to help her. Kikyo laid on the ground infront of him, lifeless. Sango and Miroku holding onto each other for dear life. Inuyasha’s voice unable to be heard.

Okay, so that’s the third chapter. Thanks to everyone who has reviewed and sorry for the late update. I had a bit of an accident that kept me from writing for a couple days. Fell off a ladder while painting and hurt my shoulder. So, thanks for your patience. And thanks for the encouragement.
