Brothers Promise

Wow it’s like 3:00 in the morning where I live, and I am going to bed now. This was a very long chapter. Hope you like it. Please review!

Chapter 3: What is that smell?

“Inuyasha smells funny” Shippo commented only to get a dirty look from Kagome “What he does” the fox child cried.

“Shh, Inuyasha is sick you will only make him feel worse if you say he smells funny” Kagome told the demon child.

“…..” Shippo just crossed his arms and staired into the fire, the others couldn’t smell it but Shippo could and Kirara was off with Sango some where, but he bet the demon cat would be able to smell it too.

Sango left a few days ago to scout out the area that they had been camping in; a day ago Inuyasha just woke up with a high fever and began complaining that his entire body was sore as if he got the beating of his life the day before.

At first he tried to ignore it but collapsed when trying to carry fire wood back to the camp for lunch. If Miroku hadn’t been with the half demon who knows what might have happened to Inuyasha.

And poor Kagome was stressing over Inuyasha who was lying alone in the hut they were temporally using. None of her future medicines or herbs from this time where working on Inuyasha, all she could do was give him pain relievers.

“There is no evil spirits around Inuyasha yet his fever won’t go down” Miroku mumbled, Kagome set down her cup of noodles and looked over at the hut worry was easy to see in her black eyes.

“I don’t know what to do; I am beginning to get really worried. Do you think we should take him to a doctor?” She asked, Miroku shook his head and also turned his gaze to the hut.

“No doctor will see Inuyasha because he is a half demon, unless we have a large amount of money no one will help him” Miroku said sadly.

“But that’s not fair! Doctors are supposed to help everyone!” Kagome yelled and stood up knocking her cup of noodles over. Shippo watched at the broth was absorbed by the ground before looking up at Kagome; he wanted to eat that if she wasn’t going to.

“I know, but that’s now it works here. Maybe in your time, but not in this one” Miroku said calmly.

“Kagome” a weak voice called out, everyone’s attention turned to the huts open door way, Inuyasha stood there leaning against the door way panting as if he ran a mile in a minute. The half demons shirt was missing leaving him only in his baggy red pants, sweat made his hair clung to his body and even Inuyasha’s once bright golden eyes seemed dim.

“Don’t worry. See I am getting better already, before I couldn’t even move” Inuyasha’s words seemed as if they took every ounce of his strength to say.

“Inuyasha you idiot your never going to get better if you don’t rest!” Kagome yelled and stomped over to the silver haired teen and helped him back inside and into the homemade bed.

It wasn’t fair that Inuyasha got sick and right after his 17th birthday. Kagome had only found out when Inuyasha’s birthday was when she asked about three days ago.

The half demons exact words were “Its today why?” then since Inuyasha was Inuyasha he didn’t understand why Kagome was mad at him for not telling her.

“Do you want something to eat Inuyasha?” Kagome asked softly as she pulled the blanket over Inuyasha.

“No thanks” Inuyasha muttered and kicked off the blanket “To hot” he told her.

Kagome frowned, even thought she and Inuyasha weren’t interested into each other romantically she still cared about the silver haired teen. Inuyasha had refused to eat anything since the fever started, and when Kagome tried to force Inuyasha to eat he threw up, all over her brand knew school uniform.

Needless to say Kagome didn’t try force feeding Inuyasha again.

Sesshomaru stared in the direction that the sent came from, it was faint but it was definitely Inuyasha, and he was in heat.

“Jaken” Sesshomaru called out for his faithful toad servant.

“Yes milord?” Jaken ran up to his master’s feet and looked up with his big round bug eyes.

“Watch Rin” Was all Sesshomaru said before walking away from the clearing that Rin had fallen asleep in.

‘Finally brother I can make you mine’ Sesshomaru thought as he ran across the land. Fighting with Inuyasha was the only way Sesshomaru could ever see his younger brother since the younger sibling’s nose had gotten so good at sniffing things.

Sesshomaru was not angry about his missing arm; he would get that back when he claimed Inuyasha. But that was all he was going to do, claim Inuyasha and leave.

He refused to lower himself far enough to sleep with the half breed, though at one point of time around 50 years ago the demon lord thought about actually taking Inuyasha to his bed.

After all Inuyasha had proven he was strong for a half breed, smart to a certain level, and had great potential in becoming as beautiful as Sesshomaru.

But as he watched Inuyasha fall in love with that human priestess and give his first kiss to her he became angry that his brother would lower himself to being with a human. And Sesshomaru was completely outraged when Inuyasha said he wanted to become human.

It was not pretty when Sesshomaru confronted Inuyasha about it, though it still surprised him to this day that no blood was spilt that day.

(Flash back 50 years ago)

The demon lord of the western lands walked onto the grass covered hill that had a breathtaking view of the entire village where the priestess that claimed Inuyasha’s heart lived.

“Inuyasha”

“Sesshomaru” Inuyasha grunted and didn’t even bother to look at his older brother.

“Is it true?” Sesshomaru asked, he had heard rumors about Inuyasha and the priestess and ever since he saw them kiss he was beginning to believe in what the rumors where saying.

“What?” Inuyasha asked playing dumb, Sesshomaru knew better though the half breed was refusing to look at him for a reason.

“That you are going to become human.” The full demon said with annoyance towards his younger half brother.

“Yes” Inuyasha said quietly and still refused to look up at Sesshomaru.

“Pathetic even for you Inuyasha” Sesshomaru said coldly trying to control his anger.

“What would you know Sesshomaru?” Inuyasha growled and finally looked up at his older brother; his golden eyes showed the same anger that Sesshomaru felt.

“You have it easy! You have father’s land and the respect from the demons that live there” Inuyasha stood up and walked closer to Sesshomaru “You fit in with other demons! What about me though? Who do I fit in with Sesshomaru? Demons? Not a chance. Humans maybe? Never! You have it all Sesshomaru yet you aren’t happy why is that?”

“None of your concern Inuyasha” This response only seemed to make Inuyasha angrier

“Fine, don’t tell me! But unlike you I want to be happy, and I now have the chance to be happy and I plan to take it” The half demon shouted not caring anymore that Sesshomaru could kill him easily.

“Then why not use the Shikon Jewel to become a full demon?” The older brother asked softly still trying to control the animal urge to tear Inuyasha’s throat out.

“I want to be with her Sesshomaru, I know you know who I am talking about. I have smelt you near by; I have felt your eyes on me. And she understands my want to fit in to be normal to actually be happy”

“And I suppose that is something I can never do?” Inuyasha blinked in surprise he wasn’t expecting that question.

“…No I don’t think you can” Inuyasha told his older brother who showed no signs of anger or any other emotion that could possibly get Inuyasha killed.

“Good-bye then Inuyasha, I hope you see how foolish you are being before you make the mistake of your life” Sesshomaru forced himself to leave then. After that encounter with Inuyasha he couldn’t help but feel as if he lost something important and wasn’t going to get it back.

(End Flashback)

Of coarse when rumors spread that the priestess had died Sesshomaru went back to see what happened to his younger half brother, only to find him sealed to a tree in an eternal slumber.

At first he believed that Inuyasha had took his advice and tried to become full demon by stealing the Shikon Jewel and his plan backfired, and it left Sesshomaru feeling guilty which was something so unbelievable Jaken’s head might explode just trying to imagine Sesshomaru feeling guilty.

Then he found about the half demon Naraku (It was only after working for Naraku did Sesshomaru find out that his arm could regrow and that Naraku was involved with Inuyasha being sealed to the tree)

Speaking of Inuyasha, Sesshomaru could smell that his brother was very close less then a mile.

The full demon frowned, he was hoping Inuyasha would prove himself to be a profitable mate, but Inuyasha had nothing to offer the great demon lord. If it wasn’t for the promise Sesshomaru would kill his brother and take a much better mate, but whores in his estate would have to do for satisfying his upcoming lust.

Oh did Sesshomaru forget to mention that after taking a mate the first month of being mated side affect is being horny as a teenaged boy in a whore house?

Shippo felt like crying, but no matter what he did he could not block out the screams of profanities coming from Inuyasha.

“YOU ALL ARE IDOITS, STUPID BAKAS” The half demon screamed, and thrashed inside the hut. Miroku had to suppress Inuyasha using powerful charms, while Kagome tried everything she could think of to try and calm down Inuyasha.

“LET ME GO YOU BASTARDS! I SWEAR I’LL K-”

“Silence yourself Inuyasha!” Miroku yelled over Inuyasha’s threats and screams of pain.

“KILL ME DAMNIT, DO IT NOW!” Kagome’s sobs and Miroku’s pleas went to deft ears; Inuyasha couldn’t hear anything but his own pounding heart. He couldn’t feel anything but his skin that felt like thousands of needles were pricking him and his insides, oh how Inuyasha wanted to rip them out. His insides felt like liquid fire, everything in or on Inuyasha gave him nothing but pain.

Shippo had to keep wiping the tears away but they kept coming pouring from his eyes and seemed to be never ending.

The fox demon caught a whiff of a familier scent behind him and whipped around, only to look up and see a handsome silver haired demon. It took Shippo a moment to recognize Sesshomaru since the fire was dieing and slowly the darkness was consuming their camp.

“Please don’t hurt Inuyasha” Shippo pleaded with the dog demon who completely ignored the fox child.

“No leave him alone!” Shippo screamed and attempted to block Sesshomaru who was advancing on the cabin. “Please don’t kill him!”

Sesshomaru was shocked to here his brothers screams for death, was his heat that bad?

The dog demon knew heats were painful, he himself had to go through one once a month, but what must it feel like to have a heat that was meant for a full demon for a half demon?

Judging by Inuyasha’s screams it was an unbearable torture that even the half breed couldn’t take and thought death was the only escape.

“I am going to help him” Sesshomaru said to the demon child who was hugging his leg and begging him not to kill Inuyasha.

“Really?” the bushy tailed child asked and looked up with wide eyes, Sesshomaru nodded and walked into the hut only this time when he took a step the child was not attached to his leg.

“Sesshomaru!” Kagome and Miroku yelled in surprise, the priest was about to unleash his Wind Tunnel when he saw Shippo standing next the dog demon.

“Miroku he is going to help Inuyasha!” Shippo yelled over Inuyasha's screams.

Miroku and Kagome looked at each other both thinking ‘What choice do we have’ and stepped aside for Sesshomaru.

The demon eyed the paper charms used on Inuyasha before looking at Miroku, who smiled weakly before scrambling to pull the charms off his friends sweat covered body.

Inuyasha arched upwards but besides that he didn’t have the strength to move, his throat was raw from screaming and yet the pain was still there!

“No matter what do not interfere or I will kill you” Sesshomaru said calmly, he was secretly glad his brother stopped screaming but slightly concerned that Inuyasha was crying in pain instead of screaming.

Kagome wasn’t sure if she wanted Sesshomaru getting close to Inuyasha but Inuyasha might not last the night at this rate if she didn’t let Sesshomaru do what ever he was about to do.

Miroku was thinking along the same lines and could only offer Kagome a hand on the shoulder to show the girl he was feeling the same thing to.

In one swift moment Sesshomaru pinned Inuyasha under him, since he was going to be the dominate mate he needed to mark Inuyasha first.

“Sesshomaru?” Inuyasha said weakly through heavy breathing, his voice was scratchy and hurt from screaming but that wouldn’t stop him from asking why his brother was on top of him.

“Hold still” The older sibling ordered and began nuzzling Inuyasha’s neck sending chills down the half demons body.

“Sess-Sesshomaru” Inuyasha moaned and arched up into his brothers touch, his skin was getting colder as long slender fingers roamed his torso.

Kagome and Miroku were red as tomatoes as they watched the scene before them, Shippo on the other hand didn’t under stand what the touches meant and was absolutely delighted that Sesshomaru was making Inuyasha’s pain go away.

“What, what’s happening to me S-Sess?” Inuyasha asked not even realizing he was using his childhood nickname for Sesshomaru. He was breathless, hot and cold at the same time, and moaning to his older half brothers touches that were making the pain disappear.

“Err Kagome I think we should go” Miroku suggested when Sesshomaru glared at him silently ordering him to leave. Kagome nodded and picked up Shippo who was doing the happy dance and walked out of the hut making sure to close the door behind her and Miroku.

“Your in heat Inuyasha” Sesshomaru whispered in a low husky voice, Inuyasha’s scent was starting to affect him it would be best to make his quick the dog demon thought.

“Heat?” Inuyasha asked and stared at Sesshomaru who was now nipping and sucking on his neck. Sesshomaru looked up with annoyance on his face.

“You don’t know what a Heat is?” Inuyasha shook his head, and Sesshomaru sighed.

“When a demon reaches their breading age they go into heat, telling other demons with their scents that they are looking for a mate to claim them. If the demon doesn’t mate they shall go through a heat once a month, it is painful for full blooded demons but since you’re a half demon it can be worse then death itself.”

“Once a month?” Inuyasha cried, and then let the rest of the words sink in, slowly if Sesshomaru might add. “Wait I have to get a mate… How do demons mate?”

“The dominate get to claim first which is biting on a visible place for a dog demon, mates don’t necessarily have to sleep with each other it helps with making the bond stronger between two mates, but it is not a requirement”

“Uh Sesshomaru what are you doing on top of me?” Inuyasha asked after a moment of silence with slight hint of fear in his voice.

“I am on top of you so I can claim you”

“WHAT!” Inuyasha screamed then winced in pain, a metallic tasted touched his tongue that couldn’t be good.

Sesshomaru smelt the blood and shook his head, his mate had to be an idiot, not just any idoit but an idiot half breed.

“Our father made me promise to claim you as my mate.” Sesshomaru explained

“Why? Why make brothers mate with each other? I am not worth much, so why have you mate someone who can’t offer you anything?” Inuyasha asked quietly and looked away from Sesshomaru ashamed of the truth.

“Inuyasha you are our fathers son, you may be a half breed but because you share the blood of our father you are a worth much more then most demons” Inuyasha looked up at Sesshomaru his golden eyes wide “You are a worthy mate because your children are already guaranteed to be strong and powerful”

“Do I have to mate with you?” Inuyasha asked eyes pleading Sesshomaru would say ‘No we don’t have to mate’.

“Sadly for the both of us we have to mate because of that promise” Sesshomaru said and lowered his head and began kissing Inuyasha’s neck in hopes to relax him, it had the opposite affect.

“Please don’t” Inuyasha whimpered and closed his eyes, he didn’t want this, this was wrong. Sure plenty of nobles and royalty marry cousins and brothers/sisters to keep there blood line pure but Inuyasha guessed that none of them had an abusive brother trying to claim them.

“Inuyasha if I don’t another demon might, someone much worse than me, at least I have enough pride not to force you into sex. Other demons will not be so lenient, they will force you whether you want it or not.

Also do you really want to go through that pain again? It last for an entire week, and as soon as I get off you the pain shall come back full force.”

Inuyasha bit his lip; he didn’t have much of a choice did he?

“Fine” he muttered, and closed his eyes. Sesshomaru stared at Inuyasha like it was the first time seeing him in along while. Inuyasha only showed this much feeling to Sesshomaru a handful of times, but every time Sesshomaru got to see what Inuyasha was really feeling it was always sadness, fear, or someother negative emotion.

Sesshomaru silently wondered if Inuyasha was ever happy, but that would be found out shortly. The bond between two mates was to be able to feel each others emotions, and shortly Sesshomaru would find out what Inuyasha truly felt most of the time...

“I need you to bite my neck after I bight yours, hard” Sesshomaru added and licked the spot on Inuyasha’s neck he was going to mark him. He felt Inuyasha’s breath on his neck and had to suppress a shiver.

And then the moment came, Sesshomaru sunk his teeth into the flesh below him making Inuyasha cry out with a mix of pain and pleasure. He stayed there for a moment letting the metallic taste of Inuyasha’s blood fill his mouth before bighting down harder signaling for Inuyasha to do the same.

Inuyasha didn’t bight nearly as hard as Sesshomaru did but still managed to get some blood inside his mouth.

Both of them stayed like until… (CLIFF HANGER, I know I am evil ^_^)
