Chapter 3

When Inuyasha came back from the past Kagome had a very nice breakfast waiting for him. He walked in to a scent that made his stomach growl in excitment almost. On the table he saw fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, toast, eggs, ham, biscuits, and hashbrowns.

When Kagome saw Inuyasha step through the door she wanted to laugh at the joy on Inuyasha's face. It looked like he was in heaven. Not a second later Inuyasha ran to the table and started eating. Lilly walked in while Inuyasha was eating and just gave Inuyasha a wierd look. Lilly tugged on Kagome's pants. " Mommy, is that man gown to eat the table too?" Lilly asked hiding behind Kagome's leg, while still watching Inuyasha gobble down the food.

Kagome giggled at her daughter and looked at Inuyasha, wanting to laugh harder at him but held it in. " Inuyasha, could you slow it down some. Your starting to scare my daughter." Kagome said and then giggled again. Inuyasha just rolled his eyes, but slowed down a little. He even gave Lilly an apple to show he was sorry. Lilly accepted and kissed Inuyasha's cheek as a thank you before going back to the living room to eat her apple and watch TV.

When Inuyasha got done eating Kagome took the dishes and started to wash them. Inuyasha helped by drying them after Kagome showed him how to do it right. It only took five minutes with the help from Inuyasha so the two went into the living room to watch TV with Souta and Lilly, while Ms. Higurashi and Gramps went to the store to stock up on some more food.

When Kagome came into the living room she went to sit on the sofa. Lilly smiled at her mother before joining her and she crawled up to sit in her lap. Inuyasha sat beside Kagome with his arms crossed and Souta stayed on the floor to watch TV. Kagome wasn't too happy about the movie, since Souta was watching The Ring 2 and she didn't want Lilly to be scared, but after thirty minutes of the movie she figured out Lilly wasn't watching the movie, but copying Inuyasha.

Inuyasha was getting annoyed with Lilly since everything he did Lilly copied. If Inuyasha crossed his arms she did too. If he sighed she sighed too. What ever he said she would...try to say. Kagome just thought it was cute.

" Kagome, Lilly is getting on my last nerve." Inuyasha said as his eyebrow twitched.

Lilly just smiled. " Gome', Lilly is gettin on my las newve." repeating Inuyasha. Then Lilly lifted her eyebrow up and down to make it twitch, since she couldn't do it like Inuyasha. Kagome just giggled at how she tried to say it correctly and what she was doing.

" This twerp here needs a good spanking." Inuyasha said with a growl.

" This doggie here needs a good spankin." Lilly said giggling at Inuyasha.

" I ain't no dog!" Inuyasha yelled at Lilly.

" Yeah huh, you have doggie ears, so your a doggie." Lilly said pointing to Inuyasha's ears.

Kagome just giggled at the two. She should stop the two from fighting, but it was too funny to watch. Lilly just crossed her arms at Inuyasha and stuck her tounge out at him. Kagome just giggled as Inuyasha did the same thing back to Lilly. " Alright you two, stop with this. " Kagome said in a nice voice.

" Yeah doggie, before the ugly giwl come out of the TV to get you." Lilly said with a giggle.

" No, the ugly girl will come out of the TV to get you and maybe to teach you how to be nice." Inuyasha said crossing his arms and turning his cheek.

Lilly looked at Inuyasha then she looked at Kagome. Before Inuyasha could say anything Lilly started to cry real loud. Tears started flowing down her cheeks as she took her small hands and rubbed her eyes.

" Look, you see what you've done." Kagome said as she picked up Lilly to set her head on her shoulder and pat her back while sooshing her.

Inuyasha felt guilty to make the little girl cry so he gave a sigh. " I'm sorry Lilly for saying that. That ugly girl won't come out of the TV and get you." Inuyasha said before looking away.

" Okay." Lilly said quickly and her tears were gone. Inuyasha looked at Lilly strangly. ' That little demon child was faking those tears.' Inuyasha thought.

Kagome gave Inuyasha a glare before sitting up. " Come on Lilly, I'll put you in your playpen." Kagome said giving Lilly a smile.

Lilly smiled back. " Okay mommy." Lilly said giving her mother a hug around her neck.

When Kagome took her to the playpen Lilly stuck her tounge at Inuyasha behind her mothers back. Inuyasha just growled and stuck his tounge back at her.

Kagome sat Lilly down in the pen and patted her head softly, while giving her a kiss on the cheek. " You be good for mommy and I'll let you help me cook some peanut butter cookies for some of my friends." Kagome said giving Lilly a smile.

" Okay mommy." Lilly said excited to help her mommy with something.

Kagome turned around and came back to sit on the couch with Inuyasha. " Inuyasha, you won't mind to take some cookies back to the past for Sango and everybody else, would you?" Kagome asked.

" Why can't we all take them?" Inuyasha asked still with his arms crossed and mad about Lilly.

" Because, I don't know how Lilly will react to this whole thing. Its a good thing your dog ears are cute or she would think your some kind of scary monster." Kagome said taking Inuyasha's ear and giving it a quick rub before letting go. Inuyasha just gave a humph and looked in the other direction from Kagome. " Fine."

Kagome smiled, " Thanks Inuyasha."

Kagome got up and went into the kitchen to get the materials ready for the cookies. Once she got everything out she went back into the living room to pick up Lilly and take her into the kitchen and leave Inuyasha to play video games with Souta.

In the kitchen Kagome set down Lilly on the floor. " Okay Lilly, I'm going to get the peanut butter out and we start to mix that up with the eggs and everything else. " Kagome said taking out the peanut butter from the small pantry.

Kagome handed Lilly a jar of peanut butter and then she heard the phone ring. Kagome told Lilly she would be right back and not to get into anything before going to get the phone.

Kagome didn't want to leave Lilly in the kitchen all by her self but the kitchen phone broke and her mother hadn't bought a new one yet so she had to answer the living room phone which was five steps away and through a revolving door.

Once Kagome answered the phone she heard Hojo greet her. ' Oh great its Hojo.' Kagome thought. Kagome opened the kitchen door and saw that Lilly was just sitting on the kitchen floor smiling at her. She moved out of the doors way and let it close before answering Hojo.

Hojo kept talking about how school was going for him and how he would give her some medical supplies for all the things wrong with her that she never heard of. " Okay Hojo, thats just too nice of you. Thank you though." Kagome said smiling through the phone. She noticed Inuyasha watching her and she gave Inuyasha a quick smile before turning the other way.

The next thing Kagome could hear was Hojo ask her out on another date. She knew that must have been the only reason why he called in the first place. She kindly told him she was busy before saying goodbye and hang up.

When Kagome hung up the phone she could hear Inuyasha growl. " Oh Inuyasha calm down. I wasn't going out with Hojo anyways so stop growling at me." Kagome said crossing her arms and giving Inuyasha a glare.

" I wasn't growling. I was clearing my throat. I don't care what you do with that Hobo." Inuyasha said glaring back at Kagome.

" His name is Hojo, not Hobo. Could you at least get his name right." Kagome said.

" No, and shouldn't you be cooking something right now anyways?" Inuyasha asked trying to change the subject in a way.

" Oh no." Kagome said before she ran through the door to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Kagome came face to face with a peanut butter painting on her kitchen floor and right infront of the painting was a peanut butter little girl.

" Hey mommy, I made a pictuw for you." Lilly said still adding peanut butter to the picture.

" Baby, when I said not to get into anything...I ment anything." Kagome said taking a towel and wiping the peanut butter from Lilly's cheek.

" Mommy, I was bowed and I wanted to help." Lilly said wiping the peanut butter in her hands.

" Sweety, this isn't helping. Now I can't take the cookies to my friends until I get some more peanut butter." Kagome said picking up Lilly. " Come on, I'll give you a bath and then put you to bed. It is getting late and then I'll come back and clean up the mess in the kitchen." Kagome said walking up the stairs.

" I'm sowey." Lilly said giving her mother a hug.

" Its okay, but you need to learn how to wait until mommy is with you to help on some things." Kagome said setting Lilly down in the bathroom. Kagome undressed Lilly and started the water to make it warm. Kagome took Lilly to pick out the outfit she wanted to sleep in then took her back to the bathroom. Once the water was ready Kagome put Lilly in the tub.

Once Lilly was clean of all the peanut butter Kagome took Lilly out and dressed her. After brushing her teeth Kagome put Lilly in her crib and gave her a kiss and told Lilly goodnight before closing the bedroom door.

Kagome walked down stairs and into the kitchen to clean up the mess but the mess was gone and left was a clean kitchen that smelt great. Kagome looked around in wonder. " Where is all the peanut butter?" Kagome asked herself.

" Its in the trash. I walked in and saw the mess and thought you might needed the help. Does it look alright?" Inuyasha asked.

Kagome walked up to Inuyasha and gave him a hug. " Thanks Inuyasha, that was so sweet of you and it looks great." Kagome said letting go.

Inuyasha just blushed and looked away. " What ever." he said

Kagome smiled anyways, she knew he was just embarrassed and all. Kagome fixed him some Ramen, since he did that little thing for her when he didn't have to. While he ate she fixed the sofa up for him to sleep in and got him an extra set of clothes for him to wear to sleep and put on the next day to wear so she could wash his outfit he normally had on.

Once he was done she handed him a pair of pants to put on and when he did he came back in only pants and bare chest. Kagome looked at his well built chest and licked her lips. Inuyasha saw the look in her eyes and how her scent spicked. He blushed and cleared his throat.

Kagome smiled and cleared her throat and let him sit down on the sofa. " If you need anything just come and get me. I'll be up stairs and goodnight." Kagome said giving him a hug.

Inuyasha hugged back and then let go before sitting down on the sofa. When Kagome left the room he got under the covers and went to sleep.


Kagome went up stairs and took a quick shower and changed into a pair of black shorts that stopped at mid-thigh and a white shirt with a sleeping dog on it. Kagome brushed her hair and then brushed her teeth.

After she was done she went inside her room and shut the door. She checked on Lilly and saw she was alright before going to bed.
