"Inuyasha when is Kagome coming back?" asked Shippo.

"For the last time Shippo she said that she would come back in two weeks"

It had been a week since Kagome had left to go back to her own time. And every day that she had been gone Inuyasha had been asked the same question over and over again. During those days he and Sango found ways to be together without raising suspicion. While with the rest of the group the acted as they usually do but at night they would sometimes sneak out to be together. Little did they know that Kaede had found out their secret and attempted to keep the others from finding out.

"Shippo why don't you go play with Kirara. Inuyasha and I need to have a talk." said Kaede

Hearing this Shippo nodded his head and went off in search of the fire cat. Inuyasha jumped down off Kaedes hut and landed right next to her and asked "What’s up Kaede?"

"Inuyasha what are you're feelings for Kagome?" she asked bluntly.

Slightly taken aback Inuyasha said "what do you mean?"

"I mean do you love her or not"

When she received no response from him she said “I noticed that you and Sango have become very close as of late. Is she perhaps the one you have given your heart to?

Hanging his head in defeat Inuyasha nodded his head.

"I see. I must admit I was surprised to see the both of you together as lovers but not completely unexpected.

"Kaede I don't want anyone else to know right now. I want to wait until the right time to the pack."

"Raising an eyebrow at the word pack she said "Do not worry Inuyasha I promise that I will not tell a living soul."

"Thank you Kaede." he said as he turned to leave.

"One more thing Inuyasha." she said. He turned to look at her.

"What?"

"Be kind to Sango. she has been through much in her life and I would hate to see her heart broken again."

"Kaede I couldn't harm her even If I tried. I love her to much."

"Good. Oh and Inuyasha? Congratulations"

Hearing this he couldn't help but smile as he turned and left to find his lover.(Inuyasha I truly wish you happiness with Sango. And I pray that Kagome won't be to heartbroken when you tell her.) thought Kaede as she entered her hut.
Inuyasha found Sango underneath the god tree sitting there overlooking the village. As he approached her she smiled invited him to sit next to her. He did and told her about what happened with Kaede.

"She promised not to tell anyone so our secret is safe for now" said Inuyasha.

"Good. I’d hate to see what would happen if she told Kagome and Miroku before we could."

"Come on lets go get something to eat, I’m starving. “said Inuyasha.

By the time they got to Kaedes hut they could smell the beef stew as it was being handed out to Miroku.

"Hey you two where have you been?" asked Miroku.

"I was out patrolling for demons." Replied Inuyasha.

"And I was practicing with my Boomerang." (Forgot the weapons name)

"Where's Shippo? Isn't he going to eat?" asked Inuyasha.

"He already ate and went back out to play." replied Kaede.

They all ate in silence but Inuyasha noticed that Miroku was staring at Sango.

(What is going on?) Miroku thought.(Why is Sango going out so much. If she’s not practicing with her weapon she’s patrolling for demons or finding herbs to use incase we get injured. Is she mad at me? Did I do some thing wrong?)

As they finished eating Shippo came into the hut looking scared out of his wits. "Shippo what wrong?"
"D-Demon !!!"

"Demon!?! Is it Naraku?!"

"I-I don't know but he’s powerful."

"Shippo, you stay here with Kaede. Miroku and I will go and try to stop the demon from reaching the village. Sango you stay here and guard the village incase we fail.”

“Hell no. Kirara and I are coming with you.”

“Damnit woman just do as I say!” Said Inuyasha growling.

“Fine me and Kirara will stay here.”

“Shippo where did you last see the demon?" Asked Inuyasha

"He was on the road east of here."

"Ok. Miroku lets go."

As they made their way towards the demon Inuyasha caught its scent. (Wait I know that scent but why? I can’t remember who it is.) Thought Inuyasha.

Once they got to the outskirts of the village they found the creature standing there as if waiting for someone. It was draped in a old cloak that’s looked as if it was once a very vibrant in the beginning but years of traveling and battle have left it faded and torn. The hood was drawn over to prevent anyone from seeing its face.

"What is you’re reason for coming here demon?" said Inuyasha.

The demon raised his left hand and pointed his finger directly at Inuyasha and said “You.”

In hearing this Both Inuyasha and Miroku dropped into their battle stance. But before Inuyasha could draw Tetsuiga (sorry if I spelt it wrong) the demon rushed at Inuyasha and punched him in the gut to which Inuyahsa doubled over in pain and then struck him on the back, knocking him to the ground. In seeing this, Miroku attempted to open his wind tunnel but before he could remove his sacred beads the demon flung Inuyashas body at the monk, knocking him and Inuyasha to the ground.

“Damn you” said Inuyasha as he slowly got up.

“That’s it you’re dead!” Yelled Inuyasha as he reached for his sword, only to find it gone.
He looked up only to find the both the sword had been stolen and was in the hands of the demon fully transformed!

“Not bad Inuyasha.” Said the demon taking a few swings with the sword. “I see you’ve unlocked the full power of tetsuiga. Your father would be proud.”

“Monk I want you to return to the village and stay there. Don’t worry I won’t kill your friend.” The demon said.

Miroku just recovering from shock look to Inuyasha who nodded his head and Miroku took off. (Inuyasha I hope you know what you’re doing) he thought.

“Well Inuyasha it’s been a long time.” It said.

“Who are you? I remember your scent but I can’t remember you.”

*chuckle* “well you were only a pup when we first met so I’m not surprised you don’t remember me. Let me remove my hood and then perhaps you will remember.”

The demon removed its hood revealing white hair and piercing sky blue eyes. He was fairly handsome and was slightly tanned and held a scar on his left side moving downward over his eye from his forehead to his cheek.

“Well Inuyasha do you remember me now?”

Inuyasha closed his eyes and tried to remember where he had seen him before. (Wait I remember now! I was holding onto mothers kimono when we found him lying in the forest bruised and cut he was near death. Mother called for help and the servants brought him into the house and stayed there for days. I wondered why he smelled so funny and she said it was because he was a half demon just like him. Once he was finally healed he thanked mother and told her that he was in her debt. He said his name was Shrugen and if she ever needed anything he would be more than willing to do it.)

“I remember you Shrugen. What are you doing here?”

“Well I’m glad to see you remember me. And to answer your question I’m here to fulfill my promise. I’m going to be your guardian.”

“My guardian? I don’t need a guardian! Who asked you to do this?”

“Your mother.”


Authors note: Well I guess that turned out ok. As you could’ve guessed I’m tweaking a few things here and there like adding my own character and a few other things that you’ll find out later. Sorry if theirs too much dialog but I really couldn’t think of anything to do to help the story along. But I promise the next chapter will be better. So until then I bid you farewell.
