Chapter 2

Two Months later

Night came upon the small village and outside sat Inuyasha and the strange female. He glared at the Hanyou woman who continued to sit and stare at the night sky. Being a Hanyou himself, he didn’t understand why she was just sitting there. Sure, being half- demon sucks, but… he sat across her, willing her to speak. She seemed to only speak to Kaede, the old hag, and it innerved him to no end. He was usually able to get anyone to speak with him. “Look, you’re really starting to piss me off.”

“Am I?” She said absently.

Dumbstruck, the Hanyou looked at her a moment before responding, “Yeah. Why don’t you speak or something?”

“I am looking toward my home. I just want to go home.”

“Home?”

She smiled, “Hai. It is right there, right in the belly of the Pegasus constellation.” She pointed and he saw the outline of the Mythical horse. She frowned slightly. “At least it’s in that direction, I think.” The hanyou couldn't remember much of her childhood and knew that it was somewhere in that general direction.

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes. All he could see was a smudge. “Wait a second, your home is in the sky? In the stars? That little smudge is what you call home?”

She shrugged and continued to look in silence. It wasn't her to explain to the confused hanyou that it was in that direction. Inuyasha waited for her to elaborate. She didn’t speak again. He glared at her again. “Don’t you have some sort of jewel shards to find?” She said softly.

He was caught off guard by her question. “Yeah, I do. But Kagome’s not here, the wrench. She went home.”

“So? Go get her. It’s obvious the way you mope about that you miss her. Don’t deny it.” She spoke those words nonchalantly. Inuyasha opened his mouth to deny it but closed it.

“I can’t. She made me promise to stay here for a few days.” That had been a few days ago. He wouldn't admit it to himself, but he was miserable without her.

She snorted, “If you miss her and if she doesn’t live but a few miles away, go get her. She misses you too, when you leave for even a bit.”

His head snapped to her at that. “She does?”

The Hanyou woman nodded and failed to explain further. “Especially at night. Look. You are annoying me. Do you understand? You miss her and we all know it. Go get her before I force you to.” She stood up, raising her arms in a feline stretch. “Well, I must be off. Kaede-sama is probably waiting for me.” She turned and walked toward the village. “Sayonara, Inuyasha-san.”

He sat there and pouted for a few moments. Inuyasha hated the fact she was right. He did miss her and he fervently hoped that Kagome missed him too. A scream alerted him and Inuyasha ran towards the village. He was too late, however, the Hanyou woman was there. Her fangs were bared and Inuyasha realized she had one of Kikyo’s soul stealers in her clawed grasp and she was growling. Really, really growling and scarily enough to send shivers down his spine. It was then that Inuyasha noticed Kagome behind her, her small hands clutched in the other female’s yukata, which was her only form of clothing. He sniffed and could smell Kikyo’s scent of bones and earth and some unknown scent, the female Hanyou’s fury, Kagome’s fear, anger and… her blood. Inuyasha snapped to attention. Kagome was hurt, bleeding.

Inu ran towards the females when the other Hanyou’s voice snapped out. “Don’t move or the shimandachi will capture you and take you back to their master. I have heard of your undead miko. What a bitch for not seeming to understand that it was not your fault for her death but the other Hanyou.” He saw the female Hanyou’s eyes flash. “Naraku… He will die soon. Shimandachi, tell your mistress that. Also, tell your mistress if I catch her scent, she will die a second time. Do not attempt to come near the Inuyasha-tachi again.” She threw the shimandachi and it took off like a bat going through the seven hells.

Inuyasha was furious. “Why the hell’d you do that, you wretched female hanyou? Kikyo is none of your damned bu-”

She turned on me and he backed up a step when he saw his death and her fury in her eyes. “Let’s get a few things straight right now, Inuyasha-san. One: I am not a Hanyou like you; I am am nearly full Youkai. Two: The undead miko is my damned business. I hope you could smell the scent of her last tryst with that abominable Hanyou Naraku? I could. She is trying to double play the both of you. It’s making me sick when you have a wonderful woman who is here waiting for you. You need to make up your damned mind!” She roared the last sentence, her hands diving into her hair as she began to pull at it in anger. She roared in confusion and twisted around. Her foot stomped into the ground, the simple action shaking the earth and creating a crater. Inuyasha gulped and backed up another step when her first words caught up with him. He recalled the other scent and eyes widened and he gasped, shaking his head in disbelief.

“No, Kikyo wouldn’t, she wouldn’t. She hates him. Hell, she hates me.” Inuyasha growled and looked at the woman, who was now turned around and staring at him a cocky little grin on her face. It only served to make him angrier. Inuyasha growled again and pulling Tetsusaiga from his belt, attacked her. She froze but at the last second dove from the attack.

“What in the hell is that thing? An oversized molar or what?” Inuyasha snarled and refused to admit the truth as he attacked her again. She, however, didn’t move and simply, amazingly, caught the tip of the Tetsusaiga with one hand. She smirked at him and whispered, her voice like a whiplash, “Pathetic. You think to kill me? I rescued Kagome-san from the undead miko. She would have most likely been killed by her had I not been here. Do not attempt to attack me again.”

Sigh... Gomen for not giving you another chapter. I forgot that the next one wasn't finished and I was not going to give the readers (AKA you...) a half finished chaper.
Soon for another chapter, Chickadee01!!!
