Stuck

Chapter Three

Kagome rolled over in her bed and moaned, the pain was becoming unbearable. She kicked the cover off her legs as sweat rolled down her body. What was wrong with her? Not long after coming home, she'd began to feel weird. Every muscle in her body had begun to ache so she'd taken some medicine and layed down. Now hours later it was almost unbareable, she was burning up. A whimper escaped her parted lips as she felt the muscles begin to tear and rearrange themselves.

A pulsing sensation enclosed her body keeping her screams of pain contained from any that would hear. Her joints dislocated then popped back into place, her muscles reformed. She felt the nails on her fingers being pushed forward tearing the meat as claws came forth. The cartalidge in her ears began to reshape making the tips a little pointer. Her scalp began to heat up and burn as the hair began to grow.

The energy inside her collided, clashed and finally settled into one. Her breath caught in ragged gasps, her breathing labored. Her eyes closed, her body now burning in pain. Darkness claimed her finally, the girl fell asleep.

Hiei sat on the tree staring at the portal once more and swore. He couldn't believe that the girl had gotten away, it angered him to no end. The bitch had tricked him, playing on his softer side. He should have known better, he was getting too soft. More than likely the fox's influence had something to do with it. He should have taken the girl's head, now there was another youkai running around loose. The only comfort he had was knowing that he had wounded her maybe she would perish from it. He somehow doubted it but anything to ease his mind.

He had followed her scent and aura to that park. Then the aura had suddenly disappeared, ceased to exist. Her blood had lead him to the woods then that lead had ended. Where could she have gone? He'd looked around the occupants of the park, none of them were her. Only humans had been there, going about their day.

The only one that had caught his attention was the young girl playing with her siblings. She had appeared to be nothing but an average girl to him. Her smile had caught him off guard, most people tended to stay away from him. Yet she had looked right at him and smiled. He'd found her to be prettier than most human females. He'd begun his search once more after snapping out of it. He'd never see the girl again and he had bigger problems to deal with. Koenma would be pissed if he thought Hiei was starting to slack in his duties. His gaze turned to the sky, it was a beautiful morning. Maybe today would be better.

The girl rolled over in the bed. The first thing she noticed was the sticky feeling coating her whole body. Her hand came up to remove a strand of hair from her face. She sat up in bed and groaned from the tenderness of her muscles.

'I feel like shit?' Kagome thought to herself.

'You and me both.' Another voice spoke.

A gasp tore through the room, the girl's hand flew to her mouth.

'Am I talking to myself?" Kagome asked herself.

'No, you aren't. What the hell did you do to me? Why do I feel like I've been run over? Is this your idea of help?'

'The girl from the park? How is this possible?' She stood up and walked over to the mirror to look at herself. Kagome wasn't Kagome anymore, someone else stood there. "What's going on?" Her face was different, stunning in appearance. Her hair now hung to her waist and was streaked with white. She had claws instead of regular nails and her ears were shaped different. Shock filled her when she saw her eyes; one was blue, the other a dark red.

'Not bad, considering we are covered in blood.' The other voice spoke. She raised a hand to touch her face. 'I thank you for saving my life but I don't know if I wish to be stuck with you.'

'Is that what happened?' Kagome could remember the pulsing of the jewel before the girl disappeared. 'The jewel must have done it but I'm not sure why.'

"We are stuck together." The girl turned and walked into the bathroom thankful that the occupants of the house were still asleep. She climbed in the shower and cut on the spray. The blood washed down the drain as the girl thought to herself.

'How does this work?' Kagome was confused.

'Seems we are both aware and in control. But we are but one person.'

'Oh, this is begining to freak me out. What am I going to do? I can't stay here like this. I'll have to leave.' She stepped out the shower and wrapped a towel around herself.

'This is true. I am Killany, pleasure to meet you.'

'Kagome.'

'I like that name.' The girl stepped back into the bedroom and found something to put on for now. As she pulled her shoes from under her bed, her fingers slid across the rusty fang. It pulsed under the touch. "The Tetsusiaga." She brought the fang out, deciding to take it with her.

Mrs. Higurashi called for her daughter once more before deciding to go up and get her. She was getting tired of Kagome's mood swings. It was understandable that the girl was upset about her friends dying. Yet she was becoming more angry and spiteful as the days went on. Now she seemed to be refusing to answer when she was called for.

The older woman knocked on the bedroom door and still got no answer. "Kagome!" She turned the knob and walked in. Her scream filled the air as she took in the bloody sheets.
