Gone
Chapter Three
They all turned to see a young girl with short black hair wearing peasant clothes break through the trees. Her appearance was disheveled, tears running down her face. Inuyasha automatically pushed Kagome behind him in case of danger. The girl smiled at the gesture. Miroku was standing next to Kouga who growled at the hanyou.
The girl stumbled towards them, and the scent of blood hit the air. "Please, help me. Demons." She threw herself into the arms of the man standing next to her target. He must be a houshi from his clothing plus the staff he carried. His hand started stroking her hair and he tried to comfort her.
"There there, its okay. Where are these demons?" Just then the herd came crashing into view. Their purpose to distract the group as the girl did what was needed.
"Don't let them hurt me please." She sobbed into his chest. She mentally patted herself on the back. They were falling for it, it caused guilt to assail her knowing she was decieving them. But it wouldn't really cause any harm. She was just going to make to people that already liked each other, go at it. Not like anyone was going to die and she had no choice.
"I will protect you," He placed her behind him giving her a quick smile. She almost snorted at him. Someone was full of himself.
"Thank you, housi-sama." She hid behind him, it gave her the perfect opportunity to do what was needed unobserved.
Inuyasha unsheathed the Tetsusiaga, after he killed these demons he'd teach that wolf a lesson. Everyone else stood prepared for any that came close leaving the killing up to the hanyou.
Sango let her weapon fly at a group splitting off to the right, "Hiraikotsu." It cut several in half and came back to her waiting hand. Kagome felt the hairs on the back of her neck begin to stand up and looked around. She couldn't sense anything but those demons. Inuyasha unleashed the wind scar taking most of them out.
"Hmph, what a waste of time."
Belitha felt panic well inside her, she needed another minute. Yet that hanyou had taken out most of the demons within under a minute. She gave up trying to be sutle and began to chant loudly.
Kagome turned when she heard the chanting. Where was it coming from? The peasant girl no longer stood behind Miroku, a demoness stood there. Her hair was bright red flowing behind her back as magic poured over the clearing. Kagome tried to call out a warning but it was too late. A rush of wind swept through the area as did the magic.
Inuyasha heard the magic crash through and turned around. Miroku turned around to find the girl transformed, she'd been cute before. But the demoness before him was stunning in appearance.
A growl escaped her mouth, "Dammit!" Something had gone wrong, the miko was still here. Naraku had said she was the one the wolf lusted after. At seeing her spell fail she called upon her magic and turned into her true form.
Inuyasha yelled after her. "Come back here you bitch, where did you go?" He looked around, he could still sense her but couldn't see her.
"Kouga?" Kagome had watched the wolf disappear before her eyes. "She did something to Kouga."
"Sango is gone too." Miroku saw Hiraikotsu laying on the ground.
"Where they hell are they?" Everything had happened so fast they didn't have any clue. To who the strange girl had been or where their missing friends were.
Sango was staring at the herd of demons one minute the next she was looking at a stone wall. A curse came from behind her, she turned around and came face to face with Kouga. He didn't look to happy not that she could blame him. She looked around, a cave. Her stomach was feeling odd as she looked around. It wasn't very large, maybe twice the size of Kaede's hut. In the ground against the back wall was a small pool. Water was running down the wall to fill it. Kouga spotted the way out and went for it. His thoughts on Kagome and getting back to her. He hit the barrier full force and was sent flying back into Sango. They hit the floor, him landing on top of her.
"Do you mind? Get off me." She shoved him off. Stupid wolf.
"Where the hell are we?" Kouga walked up to the door again. His claws ran along some type of barrier. He tried punching his way through but that didn't work. "Damn it."
Sango reached out and touched it. Not only was it keeping them inside, it was emitting some type of magic. "It's some form of magic. It will soon fill this small cave. I'm afraid there is no other way out either."
There was no way he was going to be killed inside this cave stuck with her. He ran for the barrier again, he'd get through.
