Ryomaru looked around the dining table, at his family and smiled. He loved them all even though his aunt's and uncle's weren't blood related to him. His Aunt Sango tried to hide it but the scent was quickly detected, she was pregnant. Ryomaru hoped that one day him and Tomonori would be blessed with a pup or maybe two, who was he to complain. He was brought out of his thoughts by his sisters voice "Oni-sama, are you alright? you look tired" she whispered, he voice as soft as a dove. Ryomaru gave his sister a loving smile "I'm fine Sunshine, just tired" he said giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. He called had been Sango that ever since he was little. He remembered it like it was yesterday, Sango had been crying constantly that day. Aunt Kagome had been over a she sung this song called "Sunshine" to her and it made her stop crying.

Yes he loved his family with all his heart and soul, though they tend to annoy him here and there he still loved them. He looked over at Tomonori, they both always sat with one hand under the table. He took his mate's hand and began to caress it with the pad of his thumb. Tomonori didn't look down, he didn't want to draw any attention to them. The only assurance Ryomaru had was when he saw the slight blush spread across Tomonori's cheek. He peered through Tomonori's hair and looked lovingly at his mating mark, he realized he swallowed alot of blood that he might have created a blood bond.

He didn't know much about blood bonds only that he would be able to read his mate's thoughts. A evil smile spread across his face as he began to consentrate as herd as he could. At first all he could hear was a staticy mess but the more he tried it became more understandable.

~Can't these people eat any faster! I know father won't excuse me and Ryomaru from the table untill everyone's done. I just wanna be with him. Is that so bad, to want to spend time with your mate?~ Ryomar sat there emotionless but inside he was laughing his ass off at his mates thoughts. He looked over at Tomonori with a cocky smirk on his face but his mate just stared at his quizzicaly.

Before he knew it dinner was over and his father was calling him into his study. "Chichi-ue what did you want to talk to me about?" he asked sitting down. Sesshomaru looked at him blankly "You honestly don't know?" he asked calmly. But Ryomaru knew better the calmer he acted the angrier he was. "Iie Chichi-ue I'm afraid I don't know" he said pulling off the same calm demeanor. Sesshomaru smirked inwardly but he was still upset. "Your behavior tonight was beyond rude. I've always taught you to show respect for your elders, but tonight your dissapointed me. While other's were talking to you, you were staring into space like a fool.You are first born, you will be the next lord of the western lands. How will you be able to do that if you can bearly pay attention during diner" he said in a frustrated and dissapointed tone.

Ryomaru sat there, his head down and ears pressed against his head. He smelt his father come in and let his hang fall farther in shame. Inuyasha walked over to his son and hugged him close while he stared daggers at Sesshomaru. He whispered something in his ear that only those two could hear "Go, be with your mate" and hugged him once more. Ryomaru turned towards Sesshomaru "Forgive me ChiChi-ue, I'm sorry that I've dissapointed you again" he said and with that he was gone.

Inuyasha stared at his mate with a fire burning deep within his golden orbs. "How could you do that to him?!" he shouted his anger raising evey second. Sesshomaru just stared at him."For the last five years I've watched the boy go through hell to please you. To gain your respect, your approval, your love! It's no wonder he didn't tell you that he's chossen his mate!" Inuyasha barked staring dead into Sesshomaru's now shocked eyes."Mate?" he said shocked and hurt that he wasn't told before, Inuyasha literally read his mind. "Why would he tell you? He's never confided to you about anything because he doesn't think you'll listen. You don't let them see the caring side to you koibito and because of that...I'm afraid that they,your own children fear you more than they love you" he said as he walked to the doorway. But Sesshomaru was reading his thoughts.

~If onlt they could see what I see in Sesshomaru, if only they could understand that he's not as cold-hearted as he seems. I love him so much that it makes me so sad to truely know what my own kids think of their father. If he weren't so stubborn he's be able to see...Ryomaru doesn't want to be daiyokai, he knows in his heart that he can't handle the pressure.But he want's so much to have his father's respect that he won't even tell him that he doesn't want it.He just wants to have a family and know he and Tomonori have a chance at that.~

Sesshomaru sat there in the silence of his office.Was it true, are his children truely afraid of him? He sighed and went to follow Inuyasha, he hated seeing his mate in so much pain. He truely loved his family, he would die for them but he never knew how bad he had hurt them. His thoughts were disturbed when the faint sound of a female crying reached is ears. It was his daughter he realized as he followed the scent of salt, he slowly pushed open her door. The young hanyou gave a yelp of surprise and quickly dried her eyes "Oto-san if you needed me you could have called for me, I would have come!" she said frantically.Sesshomaru put his hand out to stop her, it was really true his children feared him."Can a father not come and comfort his only daughter, especialy when he hears her crying" he said softly. The young girl offered him a weak smile but her tears began to flow again. She was shocked when Sesshomaru walked over and dried her face with his hand "Why is such a beautiful child so sad?" he asked wipping more of her tears away.

The child wasn't really sure why her father was being so nice, but she like it and through her arms around him as she cried. Sesshomaru stummbled a bit but managed to sit down on the bed and craddle his daughter in his lap."He's gone!" she wailed letting her tears flow freely onto her father's silky clothing. Sesshomaru was confused "Whose gone?" he asked dumfounded. Sango took a breath to calm down when she realized her father didn't know about her friend."My friend, he is the prince to a clan neko's. I just recieved news of his death, he was attacked papa...he didn't so anything wrong" she sobbed. Sesshomaru nodded "I'm sorry for your loss little one, but you mustn't cry like this. Once you start to cry it's hard to stop, you must be strong like your fathers" he said soothingly.

Sango cuddled against her father's chest "May I go to his funeral?" she asked weakly, half expecting a no. "Yes but do not go alone. Have your father or your one of your brother's go with you" he said lying her down on the bed. Sango was surprised when he father began to tuck her into bed."Papa..Aishiteru" she said sleepily. Sesshomaru leaned down "Aishiteru little one, no more tears" he whispered as he gently kissed her forehead. He left the room knowing exactly were his mate was, in the gardens. But on his way there he was surprised to see that Inuyasha had been watching him. Inuyasha walked up to him and hugged him close "Let's go to bed" he nuzziling his cheek.

A/N:This is by far the longest chapter that I've ever written so I hope that you all enjoyed it! My left eye is still swollen shut so if there are some misspelled words bear with me okay! ^_^!
