Chapter 3

A/N: Hey guys thanks for the review. I appreciate the encouragement. I hope that I can meet everyone’s standards. Here's my newest update. I hope to get a lot more feed back.

Disclaimer: I don't own any characters in this fan fiction.

"This was the room my half brother's mate, Kikyo. She died during a raid of the ship, when I did not hold the position of Captain. He no longer resides on this ship and the room is now yours until we make port at the black market. Good day." That was all he said and then glided from the room. That was the first time Rin heard Sesshomaru refer to himself in the first person. She, for the briefest of moment, saw a skid of emotion pass through his eyes, but what she saw upset her. It was sadness, an uncertainty, even anger. There was an unspoken bond between them and maybe before she escaped this wooden prison, she'd find out what it was.

Chapter 3

Rin had tried everything, right down to scratching at the walls of the ship, to escape. It was just impossible for anyone to escape this place. Sesshomaru had made weekly visits to see Rin. He'd question her on her past, but not once did he mention his or at least not a thing more than he let on about whose room she was sleeping in. He wasn't what she expected an enemy to be like. He wasn't like his ill mannered crew. Rin had a feeling that he wasn't exactly the cruel hearted person he made himself out to be.

Rin heard the tell tale knock at her door. Sesshomaru entered, just as she sat down on the bed. She had barely finished seating herself down and straightening her dress. She was supposed to be eating her dinner, which was soup and bread. Rin hadn't touched and that was the first thing Sesshomaru noticed.

"Evening Rin. Not hungry?" Sesshomaru nodded to her full dinner tray to emphasis her point.

"No, it's not that. I was simply letting it cool." It was an obvious lie, but she couldn't out and out say "Oh quite, but I was too busy trying to escape". Rin pulled the food to her and began to eat it daintily. Sesshomaru pinned her with a piercing gaze that sent a chill racing down her spine. He obviously had something to tell her. She may not have known him for very long a couple of months at best, but she had engaged him in many conversations.

"Rin in a week’s time we will be pulling into port. You will be cooperative." It wasn't a question it was command. She wasn't about to let him bully her without something in return. Without showing her motive, Rin continued to eat and then picked up the conversation in her cheery voice.

"Well, I beg you to understand that even though I wish not to make trouble, Captain, I do wish for two things in return." Sesshomaru quirked a brow at her last statement.

"What do you require Rin?" His voice was calm and indifferent to her, but a spark of interest flared in his eyes.

"The first-" Rin was cut off by an explosion. The ship rocked violently and sent Rin to the floor. Sesshomaru glided to her side and gently pulled her up to her feet. The sea beat against the side of the ship and another explosion went off and Rin fell tight to Sesshomaru's chest and he gripped her in a firm embrace. Placing her on the bed more securely Sesshomaru walked to the door.

"Rin, stay put. I'm going top side and will be down shortly. Do not let anyone other than myself in. Do you understand?" Rin nodded as that was the only thing she could do at the moment. Her father had always stayed with her until last moment before going top side to take control of her deck.

*********On Deck********

Cannon balls were flying through the air and enemies were sailing over from the other ship. Jaken rushed up to the captain. His tiny obscure voice pierced the surrounding dim. His hands waving frantically. "SESSHOMARU" That was the only thing that he kept shouting until he reached the object of his attention.

"Jaken." Sesshomaru was calm despite the chaos flying around him. "Explain yourself." It was as if the pandemonium around him wasn't explanatory.

"My lord, it's your brother’s ship. He's-" Sesshomaru didn't wait for the imp to finish his sentence, which probably would have turned into a long drawn out triad. A gun shot rang out and the imp jumped and shrieked. Sesshomaru stepped over the demon and drew his sword as a man came in on a rope. 'My little brother wants a battle. I'll give him one' with that final thought an all out war began.

**********Rin's Cabin**********

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! Rin jumped and nearly fell off the bed. She ran to the desk and pulled out the chair. Crawling under into the small cove of the desk, Rin pulled in the chair and waited. A few moments later the door landed on the bed from the sever hit it just received. Rin pulled on her knees tighter. Closing her eyes she prayed to god no one would see her.

"Mistress Rin." It was Ummei, the demon who gave her her dinner. Despite what Sesshomaru had said she shoved the chair away and crawled from her spot. In her desperation, Rin threw herself at Ummei and he pulled her up straight. "Mistress Rin, I've been sent to take you somewhere to hide. Come along now and be quite." Rin nodded and followed the man out the door in haste.

They entered the Captain's cabin. Ummei kicked aside the large rectangular gray rug to revel a medium sized trap door. After three hard stomps the door sprang upward. Rin understood and placed her hands on either side of the trap door before hoisting herself up on her arms and then descending herself slowly into the dank small hole. The split second she was placed in the hole the lid was shut with a loud thump and the rustling of a gray rug could be heard.

Rin waited quietly for the fight to cease. Time passed slowly and the battle waged on and with her wary nerves she slipped into an uneasy resting state. A sound of noisy steps and shuffling roused Rin from her sleep. A light seeped through the creaks of the wooden planks. The fight was still going on and she could here noise, she tried to pull her knees closer to her and push herself against the underground wall. The trap door flew open and a man who looked like Sesshomaru appeared.

The next thing Rin knew she was being roughly pulled from her spot in the ship. "LET ME GO", her feeble shout went unheard. Rin tugged, kicked, and punched her assailant. Her last kick got him right in between the legs, he growled and slapped her so hard that her eye lids became heavy and her vision blurred, then everything went black.

**********On Deck*********

Sesshomaru was whipping through the insolent poor excuses of pirates, his brother called a fearsome crew. None of these men were worth his time. Then he saw something that made him pause mid-swipe. Rin was thrown over his half breed weak excuse of a brother’s shoulder. Fighting with renewed vigor, Sesshomaru slashed his way through a dozen battling men. 'Brother you had better not harm her'. He was caught up in a whirl of men and the next thing he saw touched something in him he didn't know existed.

InuYasha was on the edge of the ship and was about to leap off. Despite his might Sesshomaru couldn't reach them. InuYasha turned back and gave his infamous smirk then clung to the rope and shoved off; flying across the gape between the two ships and landed on his deck. The men finished there sparring and abandoned the Deadly Sea. They got what they came for, Rin.

Sesshomaru watched as his brother sailed off with the girl. He would let him have her for a day before going after them. False security always made pirates slip up. He on the other hand was always on guard. Kagome wouldn't let Rin be injured, he wasn't worried about her well being, and he knew he needed her for the upper hand in his war with her father, but he'd grown to know the girl. After all she'd been with their ship for several weeks. There was definitely something hidden in her aura that he couldn't quite distinguish, but he knew, there is something more to Rin Owasi than meets the eye and he was going to find out what!

A/N: Okay so there's chapter 3. I know that it picked up a very fast pace and it seems to be moving quickly, but there some important thing to come and I have to hurry it along a bit. Hope everyone enjoyed the chapter and all will review. I appreciate all the reviews very much, but it's too much to keep up with all of them, to answer. If you do have questions or don't understand something do ask and I'll answer it. Thanks. Until next time.....Egyptian Kiss!
