Chapter 2


I follow the young miko into the depths of Inuyasha’s Forest, but before I follow her all the way,
I slip off and notify Jaken that I may be out for a short while longer then I thought I would be.
Before I return to the young miko, Kagome, I give him a warning glance that says with all
meaning behind it, ‘Do not let Rin get hurt, if she does, I swear it is your life.’ with a few
muffled apologies and several hurried bows Jaken goes off in search of Rin.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

When I return to the girl, she is in a clearing with a well just sitting on the well ledge. I watch
her closely masking my presence well. Then, “I know you’re there Sesshomaru-sama, and I know
you have been following us for awhile.” is the young Kagome’s echoed voice. I tense as her
words make there mark known. “And tell me young miko, if you know I am here, then why do
you not reek of fear?” I question careful to not let her know my exact location. “Do not try to
mask your presence anymore Sesshomaru-sama because I know you are right behind me in the
forest boundary.” Kagome states before turning around and looking straight at my spot. “Miko,
you try my patients, and have yet to answer my question.” I state cooly stepping into the clearing.
“Of course Sesshomaru-sama, I do not fear you because I have no need, or reason to fear you.”
she says not moving from the well lip. “You should be fearing me onna.” “Why?” “Because
ningen, I could have killed all of you in a instant if I wished too.” I coldly say to this slip of a
woman-child, Kagome. “Hai, you can, but I know you wouldn’t harm us. You just wish for us to
fear you because you dare not fear yourself.” the words fly from her lips so smoothly, as if she
had planned this for years.

Shortly after our conversation, I leave her to her gadgets and return home. “LORD
SESSHOMARU-SAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!! This poor Jaken is grateful for your return.” is the nearly
squealed greeting from my advisor, Jaken. “Tell me Jaken, how can a ningen pup beat you so
easily?” I kind of laugh growl at the thought. “Mi’lord, she is a demon hiding among the
humans.” Jaken squawks as he grovels before me. A few moments later two little arms attached
themselves to my legs, “Welcome back Sesshomaru-sama, Rin missed you.” I raise my eybrow to
the young girl, “Rin.” I say simply to her. Rin’s little eyes widen, “I mean I missed you
Sesshomaru-sama.” she corrects her speech with a smile. “Well done Rin.”

Kagome looks thoughtful as she looks back to where I stood just moments ago. Thinking that I
am really gone she jumps into the well and appears on her side of it. ‘Well that was an interesting
conversation, but how did I know he was there.’ Kagome thinks to herself as she climbs out of
the well.
