Day 2

Kagome wakes up to someone pulling her hair. "Shippou what are you doing"

"Checking out your ears" Shippou ran his hands around the top of her head.

"My ears aren't on top of my head" Kagome looked up at Shippou

"They are now" Shippou jumps off Kagome when he feels her starting to get up.

"What!" Kagome jumps up and goes to her backpack and pulls out her mirror and held it up so she could look at her head. There on top of her head was two ears that looked like Inuyasha's except they were black. "Where did they come from and why do these things always happen to me?" She looked around the camp hoping that someone had the answer. Then she remembered her dream. Could this be what Uzume meant about changes? She could have at least told me this would happen. At least that way I would have been prepared for it. Well maybe not prepared but at least somewhat ready for it. She glanced around and found all the others looking at her in awe.

"Do you think this is from yesterday?" Miroku asks

"It could be but why would she be turning into a hanyou?" Inuyasha looked at Kagome

"Don't look at me I have no idea." Kagome started rolling up her sleeping bag and putting it in her backpack. "We have to leave now if you want to make it to the village soon."

Sango turned to Miroku "Is it me or is she taking this rather well?"

"It does seem that she is taking it rather well. You don't suppose that she knows anything to do with this do you?" Miroku looked at the shard hunters.

"You heard her last night she is in the dark as much as we are she is probably waiting until we see Kaede to really start worrying." Inuyasha turned and watched Kagome.

"That is probably so." Miroku turned to look at Inuyasha.

"Come on guys its time to go" with that said Inuyasha jumped to the top of the trees and took off.

"We had better hurry or we won't ever catch up." Sango stood beside Kirara and waited for her to transform into the fire cat and jumped on. "Miroku and Kagome you all should ride with me" Kirara waited till they were all on her then took to the skies. A short time later they caught up to Inuyasha. They were traveling peacefully for a little while each person caught in their own thoughts.

"Kagome is changing into a Inu-youkai I wonder why and why now after all this time? I know this has something to do with what happened yesterday. But we really don't know what happened so I can't say if that is the cause or not." Inuyasha glanced back to get another look at Kagome. "Yes the ears are still there."

"Why does Inuyasha keep looking at me?" Just because I have Inu ears is no reason for him to keep staring at me. I didn't think they made me look that bad," Kagome looked at Inuyasha and watched him turn his head when she caught him looking at her.

"I am sure that Kagome knows more than she is telling us. But what is she holding back?" Miroku whispered to Sango then he looked at Kagome but at least she couldn't see him looking at her.

"I heard that!" Just then Kagome felt a pulse hit her. She turns and hollers "Inuyasha, there's a jewel shard down there" pointing to the forest below them.

The group lands "It's that way!" Kagome points to her left.

"Its about time we found another one. Its been days" Inuyasha draws Tetsusaiga and starts walking into the forest. Sango changes into her taijiya outfit and puts her boomerang on her back and takes off after Inuyasha. The rest follow them. Before long they come upon a bear youki.

"The shard is in his chest Inuyasha." Inuyasha nods his head at Kagome in thanks.

"It was so nice of you all to bring those shards to me instead of making me come after them." The bear youkai looks towards Kagome and holds out his paw. "I will take them now."

"Not while I'm around you won't." Inuyasha brings Tetsusaiga down and slices the bears arm.

"You are going to have to do better than that to stop me you fool." The bear youkai runs at Kagome and slices at her with his claws, catching her arm and knocking her to the ground.

Kagome grabs her arm and rolls out of the bears way. Miroku hits the bear with his staff and barely manages to avoid the sharp claws headed toward him. He runs to Kagome and creates a barrier that would keep the bear away from them. "Hiraikotsu" Sango threw the boomerang and hit the bear youkai sending him away from Miroku's barrier. Inuyasha brought Tetsusaiga down again "Kaze no Kizu" the fire leapt at the bear youkai and soon he was turned to dust the only thing remaining was the shard that had been in his chest. Miroku drops his barrier and Kagome runs to the shard and picks it up and purifies it.

"1 more down who knows how many left. I wish I knew how many Naraku has that would give me an idea of how many are left." She puts it in the jar around her neck to meld with the others to the piece of Shikon no Tama that was on a chain around her neck. She looks around at her group "So is anyone else hungry?"

"I think that before we eat you should let me tend to your wound Kagome." Sango walked over to Kagome and pulled her sleeve up her arm. There was dried blood on her arm where her shirt sleeve was torn but when the sleeve went further up her arm there was no evidence of her ever being struck.

"So how bad is it Sango?" Miroku looked over at the girls a little concerned. He had been close enough to see Kagome get struck and was certain that the slashes were going to be deep.

Sango looked up from Kagomes arm "There is nothing here no slashes or anything just some dried blood."

"What" Kagome turned her head and looked down at her arm. Sango was right there was no sign of her ever being struck except for the blood. "I know my arm got hit I felt it."

Miroku and Inuyasha and Shippou came over and looked at her arm. Then they looked at each other none of them knew what to think. After a few minutes everyone settled down around the clearing and waited in their own thoughts as the food was being prepared. The girls got a fire going and started the water for the Ramen then they got the bowls ready and served everyone. After eating everyone just sat around resting for a short time.

Inuyasha looked around the group "We are not going to just sit around here all day lets get moving."

Sango, Kagome with Shippou on her shoulder, and Miroku got on Kirara and once again took off after Inuyasha. Kagome watched the hanyou jump from tree to tree. This is going to be a long day. I guess that he is in a hurry to get to Kaede's. Suddenly Inuyasha stopped.

"Sesshoumaru" He jumps to the ground and draws Tetsusaiga while Kirara landed behind him and the rest of the group jump off to join him.

Sesshoumaru walked out of the forest towards the group. "Hello little brother are you ready to hand over your sword yet?" He saw the anger his question created in Inuyasha and almost smirked.

"Give it up Sesshoumaru you are not going to get the sword." Inuyasha tensed when his brother walked closer to the group.

Sesshoumaru glanced at the group of people standing behind Inuyasha it was the same group nothing different so if they none of them were the one he could sense he wondered who it could have been for he has found no others in the area. Just then his eyes flew back the miko that traveled with Inuyasha and he noticed her ears were those of a Inu-youkai. His eyes actually raised in surprise if only for a minute but Kagome saw it. "Don't worry little brother I am not here to take the sword today. I am investigating a disturbance in my lands and I think I have just found the cause."

Kagome watched Sesshoumaru with wary eyes and gasped in shock as she suddenly found herself flung over his shoulder and lifted into the air. "Let go of me." Once Kagome came out of her shock she started trying to kick him which caused him to hold her legs tighter with his arm and then started hitting him with her fist. Suddenly his tail wrapped itself around her arms making them unmovable.

"Wench you will cease attacking me now. I am not going to hurt you, I just have some questions for you that I didn't want that hanyou of a brother of mine to hear."
