Preparations

Disclaimer: I don’t own Inuyasha. It belongs to Rumiko Takahashi. Nor the book “Enslaved” by V. Henley.

A/N: Thanks all of you who reviewed. Answering a question, yes, I believe that it will be a long story. Anyhow, on with the chapter. Enjoy!

Chapter 3: “Preparations”

That day Kagome went home and told Kikyo what Yura had said about the classes. She didn’t suspect anything.
The next day went by quickly with Yura and her, making her costume. When she was about to go home Kagome told Yura,

“I can’t make it tomorrow.”

“Oh?”

“Yes I know, but I have this stupid presentation ball at Almack’s and Kikyo and I have to go. There is no way I can escape.”

“Well then, we shall continue on Thursday.”

“Yes, thank you. But this Almack thing is every Wednesday so....”

“I know, I understand don’t worry.”

“Great! Well, see you on Thursday, bye.”

When Kagome arrived home saw Kikyo waiting for her.

“Kikyo.” She said greeting her with a nod. “And how are you in this beautiful morning?” She asked mockingly.

“You are late, as usual Kagome. We have to go, and you know it.”

“Well excuse me if my terrible delay has ruined your perfect existence! God, it’s barely over midday so don’t be such a control freak, and give me a brake.”

“I have had enough of this. Are you ready?”

“Yes milady, your Excellency, I am.”

“Let’s go then”

‘Alright. Deep breath, counting to ten... No, not working. I might as well let it pass, but is just that she is so-’

“Kagome, hurry up!”

‘Christ, because of her I’m beginning to have murderous thoughts! I’ll have to restrain myself from smacking the hell out of her if she keep’s this up.’ Kagome thought as she climbed the carriage and sat in front of Kikyo, who unaware of her cousin thoughts, was looking through the window.

“May I have the honor of knowing where exactly are we going?” Kagome said to let her head cool off for a minute.

“To the dressmaker.”

“What? Why? I never said I needed or wanted a new wardrobe.” Kagome said. ‘Please no, not another try out of tight corsets that barely leave air to breath.’ “Why am I going? If what you want is new undergarments or dresses go with your maid, there is no need to drag me into it as well!” Kagome snapped at her.

“Father told me that we must go shopping for tomorrow night.”

“To hell with that!”

“Watch your language. Only ill-mannered persons talk like that. Certainly no lady should use such vocabulary.”

Kagome stared at her. ‘Is she human? How can she be like that? I mean, how does she live???!!! My God, I hope she finds a suitable husband soon so she can lay off our backs!’

“Well then, I am no lady.”

“Yes, I had already notice that.”

‘Ok, that’s it. THAT. IS. IT!! I am going to give this bitch a piece of my mind.’

Just when she was about to say something the carriage stopped. Kikyo, still unaware of Kagome’s thoughts, got off and walked to the establishment. ‘I can’t believe this! The nerve of her! Kikyo, that stuck up bitch, who the devils does she think she is!’

It took a while for Kagome to calm down. When she did she descended the carriage and walked in.

Else where Koga Shinda was looking at the card in his hands, deciding if he should climb up the stairs of the number 21 of Grosvenor Square or not.

‘To hell with this,’ he thought as he climbed the steps. When the door was opened he gave his presentation card to the butler who lead him to the library. ‘I see I’ve been expected.’
Naraku was awaiting him, so he let all ceremony and tradition aside, and went strait to business.

Naraku watched as the young lord walked into the room. He knew because of Kikyo that he was of perfect lineage for his niece. So he put his cards on the table.

“The reason to why I gave you my card is because I know you are a man who likes the high betting game.”

“So? Everybody like’s to bet, once in a while.”

“Yes certainly. But not everybody can pay.”

“Well, until now I have paid all my debts.” Koga didn’t know if he liked the way this was going.

“Yes well....not everybody has a rich older step brother to support them.”

“Hey! I am not being supported by that mutt,” he answered with out thinking.

“Are you not? Pity, I thought I could interest you with a proposition that would benefit, us both, but it seems like we have nothing to talk about anymore.”

“Wait! I didn’t say I wasn’t interested, just that he doesn’t support me.”

‘Hooked! Now I’ve got you,’ Naraku thought.

“Maybe you would be interested in my niece. She is a young lady about to have her presentation, tomorrow actually, at Almack’s. Perhaps you would care to join her and my daughter?”

“Right. Well then if that is all, I shall go now, I have things to do. If you’ll excuse me.....By the way will I see you tomorrow night also?”

“Mmm, I do not think so, I have a client, you see.” He replied smirking. He was thinking of the girl, Kanna.

“Very well then. I bid you good day.”

And with that said he left, leaving Naraku with his fantasies.

Kagome could barely breath. She knew that if they tied that monstrous thing an inch tighter she would loose her conscious.

“Please, untie it a little bit. I can’t breath,” she begged.

Her prayers where unattended.

‘If this is what I have to bear to find a husband, I rather stay single’, she thought. Her breasts were being crushed and she feared that her ribs were about to brake when rage came into her aid.

“Enough!” She screamed as she turned away from her tormentor.

The dressmaker let go of the corset’s strips, and looked at Kikyo for support.

“Kagome, it’s absolutely necessary that you use a firm, tight, corset. All well raised woman have to suffer it. You don’t see me complaining, do you?”

“But I prefer the first one a tried on. It wasn’t so tight around my waist and it didn’t crush my breasts like pancakes.”

Kikyo blushed. “Is it necessary that you talk like that? It is not right for someone like you.”

“What’s wrong with the word pancakes?” Kagome said with an evil glint in her eyes. She knew Kikyo hated when she said those kind of words. ‘She is trying to regain her composure.’

“The first one you tried, was absolutely inadequate.”

“Why?” Kagome asked indignant.

“I see you will make me say it roughly. Alright then, I’ll please you... You have an abundant bust and when you dance it will move around if you don’t constrict them. Some of the balls, as you well know, even allow a man to put his hand on your waist and if you don’t have a good firm corset, they will think you are naked underneath the dress.”

‘What a charming idea,’ she thought with irreverence. She had to contain her self from asking: ‘Is the argument on favor or against it?’

“We will take a dozen,” Kikyo told the dressmaker.

‘A dozen? That will last a life time.’ She thought depressed.

“You can choose some of the loose ones...” Kikyo said.

Inside Kagome a small flame of hope started to burn.

“...To use under your sleeping gown,” she finished.

Kagome’s hopes burnt away. ‘Why do I have to put up with this?’ She sighed. ‘Just a little more Kagome, only till your birthday, after that... Freedom.’

When they where finished they went home. It was almost dinner time when her uncle told them he was meeting a client at his club so it would be just the two of them. Kikyo never came down and Kagome ate in her bedroom.

‘Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day.’ She thought as she blow the candle and fell asleep.
