Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Kagome and Inu Yasha were heading back to the bone eaters well after Kagome explained she wanted to go home for a while. As Inu Yasha sped through the forest Kagome tightened her grip on him, Inu Yasha smiled inwardly at the feeling of being so close to Kagome. Sango and the others had gone to Kaede’s to await her return; Inu Yasha was glad that Kagome would think over the possibilities of having two mates. Kagome didn’t know Inu Yasha had heard her and Sango’s discussion “Inu Yasha can we stop for a minute” asked Kagome as they got closer to the well.

“Sure” he replied letting Kagome down so they could walk the rest of the way.

“Inu Yasha I want to know why you and Sango have been doing this” said Kagome not looking up at Inu Yasha as they began walking towards the well.

“Kagome I’m not sure” he said, “we got together when we first met”

Kagome just listened.

“She said she knew right off even while fighting me that she wanted to be with me” he said “our first night in camp she snuck off with me and confessed her love for me”

Kagome was now looking at Inu Yasha as he continued.

“I needed someone for comfort and I was afraid you would reject me, so when she confessed her love we began to kiss” he continued “and you know what happened then and after two years I have grown fond of her but I will always love you”

As Inu Yasha confessed his love to Kagome she felt her heart flutter, but then her mind began to wander and she was reading Inu Yasha’s thoughts without knowing ‘please don’t reject me please! I love you so much, I can’t live . . .’

“Huh?” asked Kagome.

“I said I will always love you” he repeated his last statement.

Kagome could still hear him talking as his mouth stopped, she then realized she was reading his mind. She then began to wonder about Kikyo “Inu Yasha what about Kikyo?” she asked trying to read his mind but it went blank.

“I may love Kikyo, and I made a promise to her but would gladly give up that promise with my honor too, just to be with you” he stated sincerely.

The two hugged before reaching the well “Kagome are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?” asked Inu Yasha.

“Yes” she replied kissing his cheek, he began to blush as she continued, “I need to think things through I’ll be back in about two days.”

“Ok” he said before she smiled and jumped into the well.

Inu Yasha walked back to Kaede’s and sat down ignoring everyone; Sango looked at him and could not help her body’s reaction to him. She was getting aroused and she knew that when she got up to leave Inu Yasha would follow, she was glad he could tell when they were ready to make love so she didn’t have to whisper to him. She did not want to sneak around and now that Kagome knew she did not see why she should not let everyone know, but then again what if Kagome did not accept Shippo’s explanation of having two mates then it would be weird if everyone knew.

She walked out and went to wait by the Goshinboku for about ten minutes until Inu Yasha appeared “Mmm Sango I can already taste you” he purred.

Sango shivered and began to kiss him pulling on his clothing, neither noticed the brown eyes that only held death within them as they watched the two make love. Moans, grunts, and the occasional scream could be heard as the brown eyes watched; soon the two were done and lay in each other’s arms slipping off into sleep.

Kagome was lying on her bed looking at the ceiling ‘what do I do? Can I share Inu Yasha?’ she thought ‘if I don’t will he stay with Sango and if he does would I be able to face them while searching for the shards?’

She sighed and rolled onto her side ‘I love him and I know it would hurt terribly if I try and give up that love, it’ll hurt even worse if I have to see them all lovey dovey while we hunt for the jewel.’

As those thoughts filled and plagued Kagome she eventually fell into a fitful sleep, while back in the feudal era Kikyo’s anger and sadness was practically sparking off her. ‘So Inu Yasha you would betray me and not even for my reincarnation but the taijia’ she thought as she looked at the sleeping forms. ‘Inu Yasha you have betrayed me for the last time, I will take you to hell or maybe I should . . .i could see if that sword will work on me . . . and then how would are lives be?’

With that decided her soul collectors lifted her into the sky and she was taken away only to be returning in the morning.

Kagome woke up groggily on Saturday morning and yawned, normally she would have smelled breakfast cooking by now but her mother had to work early and her grandfather was at some antique auction. Souta was up watching cartoons, which she could here from her room; she slipped out of bed and grabbed her clothes before heading to the shower.

Inu Yasha woke up with Sango curled up next to him; he smiled slightly before waking her up.

“Hmm I don’t want to wake up” she mumbled.

“Come on Sango or we’ll miss breakfast,” said Inu Yasha.

Sango hesitantly agreed after figuring it was starving until lunch if she wanted sleep, or having a full stomach and resting later. She sighed as they got dressed and stood up “Inu Yasha I’m to tired carry me” she said.

Inu Yasha picked her up and ran to the edge of the village before stopping to let her down, he would let her go into the hut and after a few minutes he would follow. He watched Sango disappear into the hut and waited as he heard them ask questions about were she was, after about ten minutes he walked in as everyone eyed him for answers but he just sat down and ignored them.

“Sango my dear where were you?” asked Miroku as he scooted closer to her.

“I slept out in the forest,” she said while keeping an eye on the monk’s hand “I wanted to gaze at the stars last night”

Miroku seemed to hesitantly accept the answer and then looked at Inu Yasha, the hanyou just sat with his arms and legs crossed while glaring at the breakfast that Kaede was making.

“Inu Yasha?” asked Miroku but didn’t get to say anymore as Kikyo entered the hut.

Everything got quiet as the group in the hut stopped doing what they were doing; Kikyo said nothing but sat next to Inu Yasha while he eyed her warily.

She didn’t have her bow with her and she seemed calm, she smiled at Inu Yasha “how are you this morning Inu Yasha?” she asked sounding happy.

Everyone was suspicious at her behavior while Sango was also angered that Inu Yasha seemed happy, Inu Yasha smiled “I’m fine but what brings you here?” he asked “you seem awfully happy.”

“I needed to talk to you but we can do that after you have had breakfast” she explained then looked at the rest of the hut’s occupants “don’t worry I’m not planning to harm anyone, if you are a friend of my Inu Yasha than you are a friend of mine.”

Sango wanted to throw hiraikotsu at the dead miko but suppressed the urge as Shippo crawled into her lap, Kaede served out breakfast and they all ate in a tense silence.

When breakfast was over the group looked at her and Inu Yasha was about to ask questions when Kikyo hugged herself to him. Inu Yasha gasped feeling heat coming off her and finally smelling her scent, he put his hand on her face as he pulled back slightly.

Kikyo had tears of happiness in her eyes “you know Inu Yasha?” she asked and he nodded “I did this for you.”

The group looked around at each other wondering what they had missed, Kikyo was kissing Inu Yasha and he was kissing back until Kaede cleared her throat “mind explaining what ye are talking about?” she asked.

“Sorry little sister that was rude of me” said Kikyo sitting down next to Inu Yasha “a little while back I was watching Sesshomaru using his sword once and after much deliberation I approached him . . .”

“ . . . He said he would try to revive me if I would stop trying to kill Inu Yasha so I agreed, he used his sword and it worked my body became flesh and bone” she said happily while they gaped at her “then I came here to show Inu Yasha I am back almost as if I had never left, I love him and we can be together now . . .”

Sango began to cry and everyone looked at her as she got up and ran out of the hut Inu Yasha remembered she loved him, he sighed and stood up receiving a questioning stare from Miroku as he went after her.

“Oh my I forgot about her,” said Kikyo almost as if she was thinking it aloud.

“What do you mean?” asked Miroku quickly.

“Hasn’t Inu Yasha told you?” she asked.

“Inu Yasha doesn’t want to hurt him that’s why I had to keep quiet,” said Shippo.

Miroku was getting nervous “what are you two talking about?” he asked panicky.

“It’s not my place to tell you monk,” said Kikyo “you’ll have to ask them . . .”

Miroku was pissed at not getting a straight answer and got up to find the two that had left, Kagome was getting ready to go through the well at about the same time.

Inu Yasha caught up with Sango “hey . . . look at me Sango” said Inu Yasha and Sango cautiously looked up at him “Sango what’s wrong?”

“Why ask that when you know what’s wrong . . . Kikyo is what’s wrong” said Sango “don’t you remember that I love you and what about Kagome?”

Inu Yasha had forgotten about her and Sango’s feeling and was now painfully aware that he might have to make a choice in which someone would get hurt, he sighed “Sango I don’t know what to do I know you two love me . . . but so does Kikyo and has returned from the dead for me . . . I don’t know what to do that won’t cause one of you girls heartache.”

Sango nodded and before she could say anything she heard Kagome calling them, she turned around to see Kagome walking towards them “hey guys” she said cheerily waving.

When she stopped next to them and noticed their sad looking faces she got worried “What’s wrong?” asked Kagome.

Inu Yasha opened his mouth to answer but instead Kagome heard and saw Kikyo coming up behind him “Inu Yasha we were wondering if Sango is ok” she said.

Kagome stared wide-eyed as Kikyo came up and hung herself onto Inu Yasha and kissed his neck “what’s wrong Inu Yasha, why so quiet now?” asked kikyo.

Kikyo looked at Kagome and hugged her, which shocked everyone even more “I’m sorry for being so cruel to you but now I’m alive and I can live with Inu Yasha . . .” she said.

“NANI!?” screamed Kagome pushing Kikyo away and looking at Inu Yasha.

“Umm Kagome I-I . . . you see Kikyo . . .” began Inu Yasha.

“Inu Yasha what is going on and what is she doing here?” asked Kagome getting pissed and sad knowing that Kikyo would always have a place in his heart.

“I have gotten my life back, now Inu Yasha and I can live together,” said Kikyo as Kagome’s heart began to hurt as she watched Kikyo pull Inu Yasha into a kiss “I love you Inu Yasha.”

“I-Inu Yasha” Kagome said her voice breaking slightly as unshed tears formed in her eyes “what are you going to do?”

Inu Yasha knew what she meant, who would he chose ‘I won’t hurt either of them if they all become my mates’ he thought ‘now how do I ask?’

“Why don’t all three of you become my mates?” asked Inu Yasha just laying it out there.

“I will always be with you Inu Yasha no matter what you choose” said Sango.

“I was ok with Sango but I can’t compete with Kikyo,” said Kagome.

“Inu Yasha you love me why do you need them?” asked Kikyo.

“I have grown to love them in your absence” he said “if you love me you know how much it would hurt to lose me, so I can’t do that to them.”

“Well as long as I’m with you I guess it’s ok,” said Kikyo “I love you enough to agree to this.”

Inu Yasha looked at Kagome “you have no reason to compete with either of these two I love all three of you equally” said Inu Yasha “I want to be with you Kagome will you let me?”

Kagome was torn between loving him and having to share him, she sighed wondering what to do “but Inu Yasha you loved her so much, how can you love me like that?” she asked.

“My love is spread equally now and if you don’t agree I don’t think I can chose between you three” he replied calmly.

The other two girls looked expectantly at Kagome waiting for her answer, Kagome was waging an internal war within her heart.

Miroku came upon the group and interrupted them “what the hell is going on, I want answers.”

The group stood in an awkward silence not sure hot to answer “Well?” he asked.

“umm . . .”

A/N: yep left ya hanging.
