The Truth Shall Set Him Free

Shortly after the sun had risen Inuyasha and Kagome were still embracing in the window sill. It was a perfect view for both of them, both of the sun and in the arms of their beloved.
"Inuyasha, did you ever think you could find someone so perfect for you that you wouldn't care what happened as long as you were with them." Kagome said drowsily.
"Yeah when I first met Kikyo I thought it was her. But in hind site she wasn't right. I knew that it was nothing more than puppy love, which is nothing compared to the love I have for you, but when she sealed me to that tree I... I thought it was because I was weak that I had condemned myself. But when you found me I knew something was there. You cared about me and tended to my wounds. You even put up with me when I acted tough and like a jerk."
"I knew it was a show and I thought as long as I can break trough your barrier than some dayouldould tell you how I felt."
"I don't deserve someone like you. I thought that if I was a demon like my father than maybe I would be happy like he was."
"Loved like your father was? What do you mean? Wasn't your dad an almighty dog demon who terrorized the western domains?"
"Oh wait I never told you did me. No my father was beloved by the people. He was their protector; he made sure that every village under his authority was not plagued by other demons. That's why he was hated so much by the other demons. They saw him as a weak human lover he didn't deserve his power or reign."
"Wow... I never knew. Your father must have been a great person and OH MY GOD." Kagome suddenly screamed.
Jumping up fhis his position and drawing Tetsusaiga he shouted, "Kagome what! What is it? Is something about to attack us?!"
"No its nothing like that but I have school today and I've missed too much if I miss the exam today than I won't be able to go to the next grade. I got to get ready! Um Inuyasha I trust you enough can you please turn around while I change."
"Um... Err. Oh stupid baka me, yeah sure." He said as he turned his back. "Here I'll just go get you something to eat." As he began to leave the room.
"Thank you Inuyasha, at least you have some more restraint than Miroku." She gave him a real quick kiss on the cheek and began to rummage through her drawers.

Inuyasha made his way down st and and found Kagome's Mother, Grandfather and Sota eating breakfast. Kagome's Mother and Sota already knew he was there and because Sota had spied upon them, her grandfather knew as well. Also thanks to Sota they know basically that Inuyasha and Kagome are finally together.
Inuyasha calmly walked into the room and said good morning to everyone
"Oh good morning Inuyasha," said Kagome's elders in unison.
"Good morning big brother." Sota said quickly as he was silenced by a swift kick from his mother from under the table. "Oh ... I mean good morning Inuyasha"
"Morning, Uh Kagome's getting ready upstairs for school and she asked me to get her some breakfast."
"Oh OK. Here she can have some of my eggs; I'll put thn a n a little container so she can eat them on the way." Her mother said
At that moment Kagome came down the stairs Inuyasha turned to look. She came down almost in slow motion, she wasn't wearing her normal sailor school outfit, but rather a red turtle neck with a full length side cut silver skirt. It was like an angel descending from heaven He shook his head to clear away the look upon his face. Kagome only smiled at him, not realizing she had such and effect on him. "Morning Mom, Grandpa, Sota wish I could talk but I got to go. OH no I'm going to be late, Mom can you give me a ride?"
"Sure Hun here let me go get my coat..."
"No it's OK I'll take you." Inuyashddenddenly interrupted
“Oh, OK then thank you Inuyasha. Bye everyone." And with that Kagome grabbed the container from her mom and went out the door. Inuyasha followed her but was stopped by her Grandfather's out stretched hand.
"Inuyasha I'm not totally sure what's happening but I need to ask you something about you and Kagome."
"Yes what is it?"
"What are you planning on doing with Kagome, do you love her or is there something else that you are planning."
"No, nothing I love her."
"Yes but how much are you willing to do for her?"
"Hey Inuyasha are you coming or not?" Kagome yelled from outside
"I love her more than anything in the world. I'd protect her from everything and am willing to die for her!"
"Are you willing to do the honorable thing if it comes to it?"
"The honorable thing... You don't mean marriage do you?"
"INUYASHA do I have to say the word?!"
Inuyasha took a long look at her mother and grandfather. Then turned to the door.
"If she would have me and do me the honor than yes."
With that he turned and left
"Kagome's chosen well."
"Yes sir and maybe I'll see some grand kids yet! "O "Oh grandpa." They both said shaking their heads.
...
Outside Inuyasha found Kagome waiting for him by the gate.
"What was that all about?" Kagome asked
"Oh nothing. Ready to go?"
"Yeah." She reached out grabbed him around the neck and jumped into his arms.
"Why did you choose that outfit instead of your normal one?"
"Well two reasons. One because I was hoping that you would take me to school. I like riding in your arms. And two I was really hoping you'd take me and I just wanted to match." Kagome said with a blush.
Inuyasha only smiled at her held her tight and started off in the direction of her school. He leapt from roof top to roof top. Paused a moment balanced on top of a street light and then was off again. The whole time Kagome kept her grip around his neck. She felt a chill and snuggled deeper in his grasp.
"Don't worry Kagome, I'd never let you fall." He reassured her.
"I know."
A few minutes later and to the surprise of a few pedestrians Inuyasha landed in the front of the school. He relaxed his grip and let her slide into a standing position.
"Kagome were here."
"I know just hold me for a little while longer." She whispered
He pulled hloselose and they just stood there at the entrance while a few people stared as they walked by the couple. The bell rang and Kagome reluctantly let go of him.
"I got to go, but you see that clock up there. She pointed at the bell tower. "When it's 2 o'clock I'll wait right here for you."
"OK. Now hurry up, you don't want to be late."
"Bye." She gave him a chaste brush of the lips that deepened as he slipped his tongue into her mouth. Then... 5 minutes later... They separated again and Kagome ran off to class.
God what that women does to me

The day crawled by at an excruciating pace. Kagome, stuck in her classes, had a hard time concentrating on her exams because she couldn't keep her eyes off the clock. At the same time, Inuyasha was exploring her city. Of the few times he had been in her time he never got the chance to look around. He was amazed at the sights and sounds and smells. He went along the street drawing a few stares here and there and looked into the shops. Eventually he made his way back to the bell tower.
So this is the future... It seems loud and busy but somehow, it seems relaxing to be here. I don't have to constantly worry about demons or humans trying to kill me or Kagome. Maybe... Maybe what Kagome's Grandfather said wouldn't be so bad after all. When the time comes and we have finished our quest... I'll ask her then.
Finally the bell tolled 2 o'clock. By the second gong Inuyasha was at the entrance of Kagome's school. He got quite a few stares at him from all the people walkint. Pt. Particularly because of his dog ears and his feudal era clothing. Then his nose picked up her strawberry scent and turned around to see Kagome walking briskly towards him. But out of nowhere someone stepped in between the two of them and began talking to Kagome. Who in the hell is that
It was Hojo, the boy-toy who was after Kagome.
"Hey Kagome, how's your anorexia today?"
"Oh, Uh, ER, Hi Hojo." Good god grandpa can't you think of any ordinary disease like the cold "Listen Hojo now is really not the time I need to go somewhere."
"Oh, but you don't look well, your all flush. Here let me take you to the nurse." Abruptly grabbing her hand he started pulling her back into the school. Kagome suddenly saw red blur out of the corner of her eye.
Thwack!
Crunch!
Screech!
In the blink of an eye Inuyasha had come out of nowhere punched Hojo a good 20 ft into a wall and had his unsheathed fully transformed Tetsusaiga pointed down at Hojo's face.
"I don't know who the hell you are but if you ever touch Kagome again I will rip your arms off."
Hojo just sat there terrified and nodded his head
"Inuyasha, really calm down it was nothing. I'm OK." Kagome piped up from behind them.
A crowd was starting to gather around the incident and was gazing at Inuyasha and his weapon.
"Inuyasha come on, I really got to go." She said as she started dragging him away from the crowd. Inuyasha kept his eyes on Hojo until he rounded the corner of the school yard with Kagome. He re-sheathed Tetsusaiga, grabbed up Kagome and brought her up to where he had spent the day at the bell tower.
"Kagome are you sure you're all right?"
"Yes, yes I'm fine, what came over you back there."
"I'm not sure I just saw him grab you and start pulling you away and I just flipped. No one touches you like that while I'm around."
Kagome just stood there and looked at him, her deep gray eyes boring into his.
"Oh Inuyasha" she said quietly. She reached out and grabbed him and brought his head to her shoulder. "You really do love me that much."
"Of course, did you have any doubt in your mind?" He said as he gently caressed her back. "I got something important to ask you." Drawing back some he held her by her shoulders. "It was something your grandfather asked me this morning and I've come to accept it. Maybe after this is all done, you know when the sacred jewel is finished and you're done with school and all. Well... Maybe I was wondering if you would do me the honor of..."
Inuyasha suddenly found Kagome kissing him the hardest she had ever had. She finally broke the kiss and looked back at him.
"Oh Inuyasha... Of course. You don't even have to finish, I already know and I also know my decision... Yes, a thousand times yes. I love you Inuyasha."
"And I love you Kagome."
Their lips met again and their outline was against the bell, which was golden in the afternoon light. They stayed that way for a long time. Neither caring about anything else accepts the other. When they finally broke they embraced for quite a while. It was almost 4 by the time that they decided to go.
"Mom and grandpa and Sota will be so happy. And I can't even think what the others will think. What with us being gone for so long and also our... Engagement."
"Engagement!? What engagement I was just wondering if you'd go out on a date with me."
Suddenly horrified Kagome drew back "But. But. I thought."
"Hey just kidding, of course that's what I asked you." He held her close and kissed away his tears. Kagome was crying now but they were tears of happiness not sadness.
"Oh Inuyasha your such a jerk, and I love you anyway." She said as she kissed him back.
He picked her up and they made their way back home.
