~*~What Dreams May Come~*~
~*~Hi guys! It's me again. Hopefully I'll be able to update this fast so that the story will be completed to everyone's satisfaction. Again, thanx a lot to ReiHino for reviewing my work again. I'm so glad you like my story. And to kettricken, thanx for the praises and gomen nasai about the tenses. I'm just a new fanfic writer, so I hope you'll really bear with me. I'll try and correct those mistakes and I hope it won't deter you from reading. Oh, and to my dear Sabi-chan, thanx a lot for the great reviews I had from you for "Maybe" and "Please Don't Ask Me". You made me blush there! hehehe. I hope you'll like this one too. So thanx to all of you again, and enjoy! Love ya lots!~*~

~*~Chapter 3—What Dreams May Come~*~
It was nearly dusk when they all found out they were too tired to go on. They were now near Kaede’s village, but they were still far enough for them to think it would be better to continue at dawn tomorrow. As soon as everyone got settled, Inuyasha left them to their own devices. This was, after all, the edge of Inuyasha’s forest. They finished setting up camp and they were cooking their dinner when all of a sudden Kagome stood up and said she needed to go for a walk. The taijiya and the houshi looked at one another meaningfully then nodded together. They prevented Shippo from coming with Kagome, saying she had to be alone.
“Why does she have to be alone? Kagome’s always so sad now; she rarely smiles anymore. And Inuyasha’s acting strange too. He doesn’t get mad at me anymore. Waah! I want the both of them back to who they were!” Shippo loudly cried out.
Sango and Miroku went over to him to calm him down.
“Hush, Shippo. They’re still Inuyasha and Kagome. It’s just that things are being difficult right now, and they need to sort things out by themselves. It doesn’t mean that the persons we knew are not there anymore. We just have to wait for them to solve their problems and they’ll come back to us. That’s why we need to be strong for them. Could you do that, Shippo?” Sango said, as she hugged the little kitsune to her to comfort him.
“H-hai, Sango,” the kitsune cub answered haltingly.
The two adults looked over the child’s head and their eyes met. One thought popped into their heads: ‘Maybe this time things will work out. Maybe this time they’ll come back as they were…”
Kagome wandered through the forest, away from camp. She had no destination in mind; she just had to get away for a little while. The dreams she was having affected her drastically. She knew the others worry about her, but she can’t reassure them because she wasn’t even sure what’s going on anymore. She suddenly stopped, realizing she was close to the God tree.
‘That is where Inuyasha and I first met; where I pulled the arrow from his heart. From then on, the dog-boy enchanted me…’ she thought, smiling ever so slightly.
Then she started; she thought she saw a flash of red pass the Goshinboku. She walked over to the tree to have a closer look. Just then, she had a flashback from her dreams.
“Oh no, not again!” she muttered. She always had these flashbacks, especially when something triggers it. But still, it doesn’t complete itself.
‘What is it this time? Must be the tree… What a damn nuisance,’ she thought. But this time, she’d be sorely mistaken…
~An arrow…pulsing with pink energy. But it’s not mine; I’m not holding it. It’s coming from nowhere and aiming at…wait, it’s aiming at me! I want to run but I seem to be rooted on the spot. I tried to scream, to ask for help, but my voice wouldn’t come out. Suddenly, as though having a mind of it’s own, I saw it shift from me…to another target.
‘Oh God, no! Inuyasha!’ Kagome screamed inside her head.
~She sees Inuyasha in front of the Goshinboku, clutching the Tetsusaiga as though it was the only thing keeping him sane. His head was turned away, eyes transfixed at something lying on the ground…~
‘He won’t see the arrow coming for him; it’ll pierce him before he can even move! But I can’t let it happen…his heart has been wounded too much. This time it may not heal and simply refuse to beat anymore… Noooooooooooooo!’
That’s how Inuyasha found her; standing by the God tree, her hands digging painfully against the bark where he had been sealed to by Kikyou…her face drenched in tears. The flash of red Kagome saw had actually been him; he followed her to make sure she’s all right and to try and talk to her again, to find out what’s been happening.
“Kagome? Kagome, Look at me,”
Her eyes were wide and unfocused, as though she were wide awake yet dreaming… her face has this terribly frightened look about her, as though she were living a nightmare and the hounds of Hell were chasing her. Inuyasha panicked as he saw this and grabbed the miko by the shoulders.
“Kagome! Dammit, look at me! Look!” Inuyasha shouted as he shook her frantically.
Her eyes suddenly dilated and she screamed.
“Inuyashaaaa! Nooooo!”
She convulsed against him and started to fall on her knees. Inuyasha, his ears flattened against his head, was shaken by the fact that she was thinking about him and was probably the cause of her fear. Then he felt her slowly weakening and before she could get to the ground, he quickly picked her up and went soaring from tree to tree, until he came to the waterfalls by the spring. It was a veritable paradise, found in the heart of the forest named after him. It was his own piece of Eden, one of the things he called his own. He landed on the soft moss surrounding the falls, slightly wet and glistening with dewdrops. Leaning against a tree, he began to sit while lifting Kagome to his lap.
‘Kagome…’
~*~Ok...now I can hear everyone screaming, "Where in seven hells was the lemon you promised!?" at me. So before you all blow your heads and get mad at me, GOMEN NASAI!!! *kneels down and bends over* See, I just thought I had to make this chappy to clear things up about Kagome's dream, and besides, short lemon stories doesn't work for me. Talk about getting steamed up! mwahaha. So 'till the next chappy! Stick with me guys, ok? Don't get tired of reviewing and thanx again for reading! tc!~*~
