Twice only
Sesshomaru watched as she walked away. He happened to notice her attractive figure. She was still wearing the same thing the last time he saw her. The shirt she had on was sleeveless, and showed off her muscular arms. , th, they looked quite strong, especially for a woman.
Shortly after she dissappeared from his view, Rin and Jaken returned from the village. Jaken was loaded with supplies and Rin was skipping in her new clothing, wearing it in. Rin came over to him, all in smiles. He looked at her.
"Thank you Sesshomaru. I'm so glad I could get a new clothes," Rin gleefully said.
"Think nothing of it Rin. You simply needed them," Sesshomaru responded, turning to see Jaken loading the things onto Ah-Un. As soon as he was done they took off. Sesshomaru was close to finishing his rounds and making it back to his palace. It would only be a couple of weeks at the most.
Night had found them sooner than Sesshomaru had wanted. But for Rin's sake, they made camp. He stood out over a cliff, looking at the forest below him. Jaken walked up behind him.
"Me Lord," the toad started, "did something happen while we were in the village today." He said nothing at first.
"No Jaken. Now go back and keep an eye on Rin." Sesshomaru's voice had been commanding and the toad hurriedly made it back to where the child slept. His thoughts once again wandered back to that woman. That was the first time anyone had tried to defy him and he not rip their head off. Maybe it was what she said before she left?
*******FLASHBACK*********
"I didn't mean to be so threatening," Auko began. Sesshomaru hadn't said much, but he was listening. He guessed she new this. "It's just that I saw your friends in the village and wanted to make a good first appearance....or at least better than the last one we had."
"What exactly would that image be?" Sesshomaru didn't look at her. Partly because she was human, but also because when he had, the first thing he had noticed were her lips. They weren't pink and warm. They were more a reddish maroon, big, and seductive.
"I won't be pushed around...and I'm not scared of you. I know you wondering why. I saw it when I held my knife to your throat. But also when you told me I was in your territorry. I could feel the gaze of your eyes and your tone of voice gave your true intentions away." Sesshomaru glanced at her, not knowing if what she said was true or not.
"Well I must be going. It was nice seeing again Lord Sesshomaru." Auko emphasized on the 'Lord' part.
**********END*************
Sesshomaru was again puzzled by her...and the feeling she was stirring in him. How could a human do such a thing to him--especially when they had only briefly met twice.
Auko strolled into the village. She could tell by the villagers body language that they were scared of her pet. She gave him a reassuring scratch on the head as she looked for the man she was suppose to meet. He was leaning against an Inn building.
"Are you Riyuusko?" she asked the man.
"Hai," he replied, " Are you Auko?" She nodded. "Follow me," he commanded. He looked at the dog. Auko got the message.
"Tork, stay out here and speak if there's any trouble." The dog licked her hand as a response and laid down in front of the building. The two humans headed inside. He lead her to a back area. Once inside they exchange goods. Auko had been ordered to deliver a very valueable pair of daggers. She unclipped the belt from around her waist and handed it to the man. After inspecting them, he paid her.
He started to show her the way out. "Wait, I think I might have something you're interested in." He looked at her, curious. She put down her bag on the table and removed a small box. When she opened it, she revealed a small emerald square with a chaine necklace. He took the box from her, in awe.
"Where did you get these?" Riyuusko asked.
"How much are you willing to pay for them?" she responded. Auko knew he wouldn't say anything about her stealing them. He worked in illegal things as well. They came to an agreement of $250 (which I think was a lot back then). She left, satisfied with herself. It wasn't often she stole valuable things she wanted, but the necklace had not looked good on her.
Auko soon left afterwards. She was walking down the path when a demon snuck up behind her. Tork sniffed the air and soon a rustle was heard in the bushes. They both turned around to see a centipede yokai coming towards them.
The two jumped back in different directions. Auko pulled out a leather whip from the back of her belt and snapped it. Tork growled. Auko held out her hand, palm facing the yokai. A small blue orb appeared. It soon shot a very powerful stream of water, pushing the centipede into a tree. Tork then lept at it and bit it's neck. He jumped back as it tried to attack the wolf demon. Auko struck it with her whip a couple of times delivering some serious gashes. Finally, Tork lashed it with his claws, killing the demon.
Auko came up and stood next to itgaingain she stuck out her palm. She was going to start it on fire, but nothing happened. She tried again with more focus. Auko examined the bracelet around her wrist. It became apparent that the fire stone was missing from her collection. She examined the bracelet on the other wrist to make sure all five stones were there, which they were. Auko tried to think back to when she could have lost it, but nothing came to her. She would just have to bact track and try to sense it out.
It angered her to have to waste time, even though she wasn't doing anything anyways. She started to walk back to the village. Once there she checked inside the building, but it wasn't there. Auko hoped she hadn't lost way back at the river. It had taken her years to find all ten stones, and she didn't want to have to look for them again.
As she was exiting the village, a familar sensation came over her. Thea ofa of the jewel was calling out to her. "Tork," she called. He snuffed in response and she hopped onto his back. He then jumped off a lighting fast speed in the direction she had pointed.
Shortly after she dissappeared from his view, Rin and Jaken returned from the village. Jaken was loaded with supplies and Rin was skipping in her new clothing, wearing it in. Rin came over to him, all in smiles. He looked at her.
