Resolution.

Miroku and Sango noticed the look and the pose that Kagome took when she heard the admission of love coming from Inuyasha’s mouth towards Kikyou. Even if Inuy not noticed it, they doubted that he even really cared for Kagome as much as he did to Kikyou.

They gave her a look of support as they turned towards Inuyasha and Kikyou. Kikyou looked towards Inuyasha and nodded. Did she agree to join the group to kill Naraku?

Miroku went to Inuyasha’s side as Kagome handed him Tessaiga back. Miroku asked, “Is she not going to kill you, Inuyasha?”

“No, Miroku, she has agreed to put aside her anger towards me and direct it at the proper person who really made us thwe bwe betrayed each other - Naraku.” Inuyasha said as he was walking back up the path leading to the temple.

“Why are we staying here?” asked Kikyou, as they reached the temple itself. “Surely, Naraku would not show here. He’ll probably be elsewhere.”

“This is the best place they can start for he’ll be drawn to the jewel. I have sent word out that Inuyasha has been severely injured and has buried the jewel fragments into the ground in the grave of his first love - Kikyou.” Kaede said, as she emerged from the temple door.

“That is a good plan, Kaede. Do you think it will work to bring him out, he is smart and will probably have someone else come to dig it up?” asked Miroku.

“True, but he’ll want to get his hands on it himself and he will not let it be in the hands of another,” Kagome said, looking at Miroku.

Night fell over the temple grounds. Inuyasha was inside the temple pacing as the others ate their evening meal. Shippou bounced over to Inuyasha and held up a bowl of soup to him.

“Have some soup, Inuyasha. You must be hungry,” he said.

Inuyasha turned to look at Shippou and the steaming bowl of soup and sighed, “I’m not hungry, Shippou, but thank you for offering but you eat.”

Sango looked over at Shippou who took his place by Kagome’s leg and started to sip the soup. “I doubt he wants to weigh his stomach down with the up coming battle against Naraku, Shippou.”

Kikyou watched Inuyasha pace but she noticed that he would glance at her and then over to Kagome who was busy eating. Was there something not said between those two that they are not revealing? Nah, concentrate on what they were about to deal with. She got up and walked over to Inuyasha. She whispered, “Inuyasha, do you know you are not being very secretive about looking at Kagome? Have you told her about the way you feel or do you not feel the same about her?”

Slam! Inuyasha’s fist went through the wooden floor as he glared at Kikyou and would have pulled his hand out of the hole and throttled her if it wasn’t for Kagome saying, ‘Sit boy.’, he would have been able to. Now, all he could do was glare at Kagome and Kikyou. His head went up fast, ears twitching.

Inuyasha sniffed the air and knew who was there. “He’s here, Naraku.”
