Head lowered, Kagome turned away from the open door, "I think you should go home Inu Yasha."

"No!"

"...Please...just leave me alone..." She couldn't help the tear that slid down her cheek.

"I want to talk to you first, then I'll leave." He stepped in front of her and reached out to smooth his thumb down her cheek.
Gently grasping her chin, he tilted her head up so that she was looking him, "Ok?"
Giving a small nod, she moved away from him, "I'll be right back."

She sat on the bed, tears streaming down her face. She had no choice, she would have to go home and some how find a way to avoid her evil stepfather.
"Get a grip on yourself! Put some clothes on and go down stairs and hear what he has to say so you can cry your eyes out alone!" She admonished herself.

Donning an XXL T-shirt and some shorts, she headed to her bathroom to splash some cold water on her face hoping to erase any evidence that she had been crying.

Inu Yasha watched as she came down the stairs, struck anew at her beauty.
Kagome walked over to the couch and sat, primly folding her hands in her lap as she waited for him to talk.
Inu Yasha could feel a smile tugging at his lips as he watched her. Her actions were so at odds with what they had been doing a few minutes earlier.

"What's so funny?" Kagome demanded turning to glare at her guest.

He chuckled, "Nothing."

Kagome continued to glare at him as he made no move to tell her why he had some over, "So?!"

Easing over on the couch so that he was seated right next to her, he picked her up and deposited her on his lap so that she was straddling him. Hands wrapped around her waist, eyes mere slits, "Will you relax?"

He sighed when he felt her stiffen even more, "Sheesh..."

Kagome was quickly becoming furious, "Is this why you came over here? To harass me?"

He released his hold on her. He frowned, "Is that what I've been doing? Harassing you?"

She burst into tears, bringing her hands up to cover her face. It was too much. Her life was turning upside down and there didn’t seem to be anything she could do about it.
Tenderly he pulled her against his chest, his handrokiroking her back as she buried her face against his throat sobbing softly.
Kagome was mortified, she couldn't believe that she was crying, and in front of him no less! The only people that had ever seen her in her moments of weakness were Ester and Kat.

“No,” Kagome sniffled, her face still buried against him, “You’re not harassing me.”

Wrapping her hair in his fist, he tugged her head back so that she was looking into his eyes.
Inu Yasha felt his heart melt as he looked into her teary eyes, “You ready to hear what I came here for?”
He released her hair, smoothing his hands over her tear stained cheeks, smiling tenderly at her.

“Yes,” she whispered softly, afraid of what he was going to tell her for no sensible reason.
Inu Yasha frowned to himself when he saw the frightened look in her eyes. Trying to put her at ease, he ran his claws gently down her arm and smirked when she shuddered.

Kagome licked her lips leaning forward so that she could kiss him. Lips a hairs breath away, she mentally bitch slapped herself and drew back from him, “Talk.”

Inu Yasha mentally cursed himself when he missed the opportunity of kissing, he knew that once they kissed other pleasurable things followed. Shaking off his thoughts he decided to get down to reason behind his visit.

“Well, you need a place to stay don’t you?” He frowned when he felt her stiffen.

“Yes.” She replied coldly.

‘Did he come here to make fun of me?’ Kagome asked herself, feeling close to tears once more.

“I’ve got a spare bedroom…”

Kagome’s eyes widened in surprise, “You mean I can??”
Inu Yasha barely managed to nod. Kagome flung her arms around his neck hugging him tightly; tears coursing down here cheeks.
“Why are you crying?” Inu Yasha asked softly, returning her hug.
“Cuz I’m so relived and happy!” She mumbled, “I won’t have to go back home…I’ll be the best room mate ever! I promise!”

“Yeah?” He asked one arrogant brow rose in question.
She nodded, “When can I start to move my stuff in?”
“Tonight?” He asked licking his lips; thoughts of him and Kagome alone in his apartment ma lov love into the early hours of the morning running rampant through his head.

“Earth to Inu Yasha!” Kagome shrieked snapping Inu Yasha out of his lust filled thoughts.

“Huh? What?” Inu Yasha asked blinking sheepishly.

Kagome rolled her eyes in exasperation, “I said that it would be easier for me to start packing if you would let me go!”

Kat walked in without closing the door.

“I’m letting some fresh air in. We need to get that smell out of here.” Kat replied poker faced before bursting out laughing as Kagome turned beet red.
Ester was also laughing as she walked into the kitchen intent on fixing herself a snack, Kat hot on her heels.

“Make me one too…” Kat begged of Ester.

“You are such a whinny baby!” Ester exclaimed laughing.

Straightening her spine, Kagome sat up, “I’ll go start packing now…”
Inu Yasha’s hands tightened against her waist before finally letting her go.

Ester and Kat were upstairs help Kagome pack. The silence in the room was tense, but no one wanted to be the one that cracked first.

“Damn it!” Ester exploded ten minutes later, she couldn’t take the silent treatment any more. Glaring first at Kagome, then at Kat, who was perversely egging on their current situation.
Kat simply grinned and shrugged as she saw the glare that Ester was giving her. “What’s wrong?” Kat asked with fake sweetness.

“Stop pushing Kagome’s buttons! You know she’s embarrassed enough as it is!”

Kat rolled her eyes, “what ever…”
