Inuyasha Meets Yasha

Chapter 3: Inuyasha Meets Yasha
Inuyasha's pregnancy was winding down and he wasn't feeling good at all. The doctor knew that the baby was pressing on his stomach, which was one reason the hanyou couldn't eat a lot. Besides that, Inuyasha was on bed rest and slept most of the time when he wasn't trying to eat a little.
The harsh winter brought with it new challenges. The blizzard was stronger than the others causing the doctor to retreat to another area of the house forcing Inuyasha to move around a little to stay warm. "How the hell do you expect me to have this kid?" he asked one afternoon. "I can't give birth like a woman, you know." "I have to cut your stomach open, but I have numbing ointment to keep you from feeling the pain when I do it," the doctor explained. Inuyasha sighed heavily. "Nine months pregnant and I don't know when the hell she wants to come out," he said seriously. "Give her time," the doctor said. "Babies come at their own pace."
Two nights later, the howling wind outside grew stronger. Inuyasha was sitting in a rocking chair listening to it while running his hands down his round belly. He wondered what his daughter would look like or if she would favor him or her mother. He sighed and rested his head against the chair falling asleep. Ten minutes later, a s pai pain in his stomach woke him up from his sleep. His claws grabbed the sides of the chair as he growled deeply. But as soon as the pain came, it went away. He struggled to catch his breath and sighed. "What was that?" he wondered out loud. The doctor looked at him. "What happened?" he asked. "I had some sharp pain in my stomach," he said when the pain suddenly returned almost knocking him for a loop. "You're having contractions," the doctor said seriously. "That baby's coming today."
Inuyasha stared at him in shock. "When the pain stops, remove your clothes and lay down," the doctor said while getting prepared by the bed. He had everything ready for the day ahead of time except for some warm water to bathe the baby. Inuyasha grunted in pain and struggled to breathe when the pain disappeared. He quickly undressed and lay on the bed with a blanket draped around his privates. The doctor checked his stomach first noticing it was truly time.
"Let me know when the pain starts," he said lathering Inuyasha's stomach with the ointment. Inuyasha nodded resting on his pillows when the pain returned. "Here it comes!" he cried grabbing his blankets that he lay on with his fingers groaning. "Lay back," the doctor said and stabbed Inuyasha's flesh carefully with a clean dagger. Inuyasha cried out in pain and screamed as he fell back against the bed. His eyes closed just as he heard the cry of a baby through the night.
"inuyasha!" a voice said in the darkness. "Inuyasha, wake up!" Inuyasha opened his eyes weakly to find the doctor standing over him with a bundle wrapped in blankets. "Come see your little girl," he chuckled placing the newborn hanyou in her father's arms. Inuyasha sat up slightly to study her. She was his mirror image complete with the puppy ears, long white hair, copper colored eyes, and baby fangs in her mouth. Her fingers had the beginnings of claws on her fingernails and she smelled of a fresh bath and baby powder. She yawned and looked up at him for a moment. He slipped his finger in her tiny fist feeling her strength as her fingers wrapped around his squeezing hard.
Tears filled the hanyou's eyes as he smiled. "She favors you, Inuyasha," the doctor said. "I know," Inuyasha chuckled. "She's so tiny, but so beautiful too." The doctor chuckled. "I fed her some milk while you rested and she never put up a fuss," he said. "that means she'll be a good baby, faithful and loyal to you as she gets older." Inuyasha nodded keeping his eyes focused on his child. "I promise I'll take care of you," he whispered. "I'll never abandon you...like your mother did to us." He kissed her forehead gently and sighed. Yasha yawned and fell asleep in his arms. Inuyasha laid back on his bed with her on his chest holding her safely in his arms and was soon asleep.
