The Conflicting Desires

A/N, from Ame to all: Alright well now
that everyone's been introduced the fun can begin!

Hotohori: What fun?? You expect us
wandering around with absolutely no sense of purpose to be fun??

Ame to Hotohori:
Of course I do! But I'll give you a reward if you do...

Hotohori: A reward! Oh goody!! (does a little dance...aburptly
stops) I am ashamed.

Ame: Don't worry... I thought it was
cute. *wink wink*

Ame to readers: Well from here on in
this is a private conversation...You guys go ahead and read about Miaka and Co...Who knows maybe they'll even run into Inu Yasha's gang this chapter. Then again...

Narrator:

Miaka and her friends are all sleeping
soundly in the feudal era, scattered randomly around Kaede's
village.

A/N, from A to all: Yes I learned her name! GO ME!

Tamahome is the first of the group to
wake up. Conviently he is only about a quarter of a
mile from civilization. He hears children playing in the fields and heads
towards their laughter. He approaches silently and sees a beautiful girl
playing with a children. He admires her beauty, grace,
and the kindness that just flows from her aura. Suprisingly
he feels as if he's met someone very similar to her before. He is about to
approach, when he realizes that one of these children is not a human, but in
fact another being of sorts.

"Shippo, stop it!" Thung ung miko giggles as the fox-like child pounces onto her chest.
Feeling as if she was in some sort of danger Tamahome
jumps out from the bushes nunchucks in hand. He
rushes towards the woman, but suddenly falters as he feels a presence
approaching him from his left. Some one tackles him to the floor and peers up
to see a body hovering over him.

"And just what are you planning to do?" said the
grng vng voice above him.

Kagome:

"SIT BOY!...Sorry about that,
sometimes he gets a little protective. So who are you?" Why is this man
here? He's not dressed like someone of this time period. Well it's nice for a
change of pace, besides it looks like Inu Yasha's jealous again. *Inu Yasha is still on the ground, mumbling to himself*

Tamahome:

Should I talk to these strange people or would it be better for me
to rn sin silent? Why are they wearing these obsenities...Thog mog man I can understand, but the woman...She is dressed like a woman of no
class. Yet somehow it doesn't bother me....Why is that?

Kagome:

He's not answering, anesia maybe??
"Um, *waves her hand in front of his face* what did you say your name
was?"

Inu Yasha:

He's ignoring Kagome, that bastard is going to pay for that. First
he looks at her from the bushes and then he tries to...who knows what. But he
was trying something when he ran at her. And he's fast too. Almost as fast as
me...Especially since that damned Shippo has been
"healing" my wounds lately. OH that reminds me. Damn Kagome, why in
the hell did she ever give Shippo the job of tending
the sick? He only makes me worse!...

Still I don't like the way that that man is looking at Kagome.
He's dressed differently, maybe he lives on the
streets. A wanderer perphaps?
He doesn't like anyone from around here. In fact he doesn't look like anyone
from around Japan.
He even dresses different from Kagome, so he can't be from the future...

Kagome:

Inu Yasha has
a dazed look on his face...OH NO! Don't tell me he's actually trying to think!
"SIT."

Inu Yasha:

"What the hell was that for wench?!?"

Kagome:

"Um...sorry...?" Maybe that wasn't such a good idea.

Tamahome:

These people and animals are stranger than I thought they
communicate with one another. They act as if they could bemiesmies or friends.
I can't tell. I think it's time I ended this and found out where I am and what
I'm doing here.

"Eh-hem. *The others stop fighting
to listen to the stranger speak.* My name is Tamahome. Unfortunelty that is
all I know about myself. I'm not quite sure where I am right now, nor am I sure
why...If you could just please tell me, I would be very greatful..."

Narrator:

Tamahome continues to tell them about
where he woke up and how he remember nothing but his name. Yet he felt certain
connections to things. He had an urge to find something, though he knew not
what. Something also sparked when he saw Kagome. He didn't know what but he
felt as if he knew her somehow. This didn't make Inu Yasha very happy, and the fact that Inu
Yasha was unhappy caused Kagome to want to keep the
man around for a little while longer.

Kagome:

"Feel free to stay with us until you regain your memory. But
I have to warn you, the hut is crowded and we travel often. There is also quite
a great danger when you are with us. Can you defend yourself?" I realy hope he can, it'd be fun to have some fresh blood
around here. And he is really cute...

Tamahome:

"I'm pretty sure that there's a valid reason for me to be
carrying these *holds up nunchucks* but if not then
don't worry about me. I except your kind offer but do not want to be in your way.
If I fall behind, then that's where I'll stay." Theis
miko is very kind. For some reason I feel I can trust
her. I'm not so sure about her beast friends, but it seems as if she had them
under control.

Inu Yasha:

"You bet you'll stay behind! Damn it Kagome, why are you
always taking in these weka humans?"

Kagome:

"I'll have to remind you that I'm a HUMAN too! SIT BOY!" Good that takes care of him. *dusts off her
hands* "Come on...Tamahome, right? *he nods* We'll go back to Kaede's hut and
you can meet the others. They'll welcome you easily, so no worries."
*Kagome walks over Inu Yasha
and not knowing what to do Tamahome does the same. Shippo cracks his knuckles in preparation for Inu Yasha's medical attentions
and chuckles wildly.* I'm suprised that this man
would want to come with us after the show that Inu Yasha just put on! Maybe Kaede
can explain while I feel this strange aura emminating
from his body. He's pure enough...but there's something else mingled in there.

Narrator:

They enter the hut and Kagome makes introductions. Kaede has a worried look in her brow but she sits silently
as the others talk to Tamahome. They agree to bring
him along the next time they look for the Shikon No
Tama. They spend the rest of the night telling him stories of their past and
making sure he knows who the bad guys are. Inu Yasha
and Shippo sneak in somewhere in the middle of the
story. Inu Yasha is
unconscious with a green goo
dripping from the side of his mouth. Shippo dragged
him in and Kagome, Sango, Kaede,
and Miroku were quite used to Shippo's
"medical skills" so they paid no attention to them. Tamahome on the other hand was appalled. He look at the two he had come to know as demons and back at
the humans. Once he saw their laughter he calmed down a bit, and the night
festivities continued.
