Time Will Tell

"Thank you so much. How can we repay you ladies?"
Sango gave the village chief a warm smile. "It was our pleasure. Its getting late would it be to much to ask if we rested here tonight?"
"Not a problem at all. I'll show you to a room. You and the young lady will have to share." He motioned them forward.
"Are you sure you want to stay? We could just head home." Cienna stated.
"I'm tired. Times like these remind me of how old I'm getting." Sango laughed. "Take full advantage of your youth. Dont settle down with a lecher like I did."
"Come on Sango we both know youd marry him all over again if you had to." She smiled at her friend. "Miroku loves you even though he has a habit of being a lecher." She knew how much the two loved on another. She heard stories of how her mother and father fell in love. She missed her mother and father. They were slain by demons right after she was born. Sango and Miroku took her in and raised her. She knew they did the best they could with children of their own to care for. Her father had been Sango's younger brother. She still missed them and thought of them everyday.
"Come, lets get some rest and we will set out first thing in the morning."


Sango was soon fast asleep but Cienna could not find slumber. She layed upon the blanket shed been given. She recalled the stories of her mother and father. She was told of the shikon jewel that had once been shattered. How a demon named Naraku had used her father and tried to kill her mother. She new the whole tale. She had also been told that her mother traveled with a demon lord when she was young girl. She couldnt remember much of those. It has been over twenty years since the defeat of Naraku but she could tell that the memories still haunted her family and friends. Inuyasha and the miko Kagome still find the tale painful. Now years later they were trying to get on with their lives. After the hearing of how her parents were slain she chose to become a demon slayer.
She prayed that one day shed find the demon that killed them. ' I will avenge my parents death.'
She stood up and stretched. 'I cant sleep. Maybe a walk will help clear my mind.'

She soon found herself walking along side a stream. She looked across the bank. "A demon." She caught his reflection in the water before he disappeared. 'A toad demon. I shall kill him before he can cause any harm to the villagers.' She made her way across the stream to where shed last seen the toad. She made sure to stay down wind of him. She could her the toad shouting.
"LORD SESSHOMARU," he seemed occupied. "Where did he run off to now?" Jaken was getting angry.
He had been left behind again. "He has left me again."
She snuck behind him. "One move and remove your head."
Jaken was suprised to see a sword resting underneath his chin. "What!!"
"If you value you life demon you will tell me what you seek here." She applied pressure to his throat.
"I have no qualms about killing stupid smelly demons like yourself. So tell met yot you are doing here."

"Release him."
"AHHH my lord, save me from this impudent human." Jaken looked up to see if the human was obeying.

Cienna couldnt help but stare. He was beautiful. Shed heard tales of demons that could take human form but never seen one. He had to be one. Which meant he was also a powerful demon. She looked him in his golden eyes. "Sorry, I'm not one to take orders from a man thats prettier than me."
