Sesshoumaru awoke and tried to move. His body felt heavy. He opened his eyes. Well he found the reason he couldn't move. Kagome was laying down mostly on top of him. He ran his hand down her body checking for injuries. He didn't find any. Sesshoumaru heard Kagome moan and watched her open her eyes.

Kagome felt a hand running down her body. She wanted to open her eyes but her head was pounding. As the hand reached her waist she made herself open her eyes and found herself looking down at Sesshoumaru. "Oh" Then she realized she was laying almost completely on top of Sesshoumaru. "Where are we?" She tried to get up but he tightened his arm around her and then she felt his tail wrap around her. Great now I am stuck on laying on top of him. Not that it was a bad thing. She was enjoying it but she would never admit it to him. Kagome felt her face grow hotter as his hand glided back up her body. That was feeling just too good.

"Are you injured?" Sesshoumaru felt her shake her head no. She had buried her head in his shoulder and didn't seem in any hurry to lift it up. "We are in my lands. Although I don't know how we reached this area. It's on the other end of my land. A great distance from where we were at to begin with."He remembered that Inuyasha had struck at him and Kagome with the Tetsusaiga. The last thing he remembered was the flames licking at his feet. How did they get here? Uninjured at that. They should both be dead or at least gravely injured.

Kagome looked up "We have got to find my pup. Surely Inuyasha would have hurt him if not worse by now. His demon blood must have taken over. Although how that happened when he had the Tetsusaiga I don't know." She tried to get up but he still held her down.

He heard what Kagome had said. He knew that Inuyasha was normal when he attacked them. But Kagome was still new to her youkai senses. "Kagome, Inuyasha was not under his demons blood control. He was under no control other than his own. I don't know why he attacked us." He saw the disbelief clearly written on her face. "Kagome I don't lie, you need to learn that." Sesshoumaru groaned when he watched her eyes fill up with tears and some escaped sliding down her cheeks. He hadn't meant to make her cry but he had to tell her the truth.

"But why would he attack me. You I could understand but why me. He wouldn't hurt me, not on purpose." She felt Sesshoumaru's hand move in circles on her back. Then he nuzzled her neck making small growling noises. Kagome was shocked. He's trying to comfort me I don't know how I know that by his growls but I do. That is so sweet. Wait a minute since when did she consider Sesshoumaru sweet. She had always considered him sexy, ruthless and a few other things but sweet was not one of them. What was she thinking.

He raised up from nuzzling her neck and found Kagome with a surprised look on her face. So what had he done to put that look into her face. He grabbed her hand and with the help of his tail he helped her up. He stood up beside her once she was free from his body. "I will talk you to your pup and friends but if Inuyasha is there I want your word that you will not interfere."

"I can't promise that Sesshoumaru. He is still my friend who I care a lot about. and if he needs my help he will get it. I will be on my guard against him though. Can you please not try to kill him until we find out what happened." Kagome looked at him hopefully.

Sesshoumaru glared at Kagome. How could she over look the fact that Inuyasha tried to kill them. "I will give you the chance you need but be warned that if he tries to attack us again I will not let him harm us and if I must kill him to stop him I will." He turned away from her. "It will take a little while to reach your pup and friends. It would be quicker if we traveled as our inu's." He stepped a little distance from Kagome and was surrounded with a pinkish glow. He changed quickly into his inu form. He turned his head toward Kagome and growled slightly.

Kagome watched him change into his inu youkai form. He makes that look so easy. She heard him growl. I had better hurry and join him. She closed her eyes and concentrated. She felt her body changing at least it didn't hurt this time. When she was changed she ran to his side and they took off running through his lands. At this pace they would be back with her group in no time. She could smell Shippou. Good she didn't smell his blood anywhere. He wasn't hurt. She sniffed the air but didn't find any scent of Inuyasha. Where did he go? She was so going to sit him when she found him. Sesshoumaru and Kagome broke through the trees. They found her friends they had not yet left the clearing. As they broke through the trees lining the edge of the forest they were faced with her friends standing ready for battle. Then Kagome remembered that they were still in their inu form and stopped. She changed back into her humanoid form.

"Okaa-san!" Shippou ran to her and launched himself into her arms. "I thought Inuyasha had killed you mama. I'm so glad that you are ok." He sniffled and rubbed his head on her shoulder.

"Kagome what happened to you. I thought the same as Shippou. Inuyasha's attack should have killed you. Not that I am complaining because your not." Sango ran and embraced Kagome hugging her tight.

Shippou usually liked getting hugs but not when he was getting the air squeezed out of him. "Momma, Sango I can't breath."

Miroku watched the girls hugging. He smiled as he watched Shippou get caught between them. The poor kitsune his face is starting to match my robe in color. "Ladies might I suggest letting poor Shippou get some air before he departs this world for the next." He watched the girls jump apart and Shippou fell to the ground gulping in much needed air. "I am glad you are back and in good health Kagome." He walked up and held out his arms.

Kagome looked at him warily. Why not surely he wouldn't try something he shouldn't. She walked up and hugged him. Then she felt the hand on her nether regions. She had hoped that he had learned to control himself. "Whap"

Sesshoumaru watched her friends embrace her and when the monk walked up to Kagome he noticed that she paused slightly before embracing him. He saw the monks hand touch Kagome and growled menacingly at him. How dare he touch her like that. Then Kagome slapped the monk on the face and the taijiya hit the monk on the head with her weapon. The monk fell to the ground. That had to have hurt. How could a monk act like that.

Miroku felt Kagome slap his face, then he heard Sesshoumaru growl. How could he have forgotten that he was there? The he heard Sango's yell and felt something hit his head. I have really got to learn more control. He felt himself hit the ground.

Sango and Kagome heard the growl from Sesshoumaru and turned to face him. They looked at him and then back at each other. Then they laughed.

Sesshoumaru watched the girls turn toward him. Why are they staring at me. I didn't do anything. It was that baka monk. Then the girls laughed. He came to the conclusion that women of all races were strange. "Where is Inuyasha?"

Sango looked to the demon lord. The only clue that she had that he was upset was the sound of his voice. "He disappeared after you all did. We haven't seen him since."

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru. She could tell that he was not pleased with the information that Sango gave them. "Well then I guess we can go back to the village. Thank you Sesshoumaru for all your help." She picked Shippou up and helped Sango put Miroku on Kirara. She turned around and smiled at Sesshoumaru and followed Kirara.

Sesshoumaru watched the girls take off with the unconscious monk and the kitsune pup. He didn't know why but he missed Kagome already.

"Why do you lie to yourself? You know why you miss her."

"Why do you only talk to me about the girl. You never seem to voice your opinion any other time?"

"Because this is the only part of your life that you seem to have difficulty with."

"I am not having any trouble with the girl."

"Then why did she just leave?"

"She left to go back to the village."

"You let her. That tells me that you are indeed having trouble. I know you wanted to take her back to the castle. But no you just watched her fly away. You could have stopped her."

"I had no desire to stop her. She may come and go as she pleases."

"What has happened to you. I think I liked you better when you took what you wanted."

"I am trying a different approach that is all. You can't force a person to love you and the last thing I want is to have an angry miko demoness trying to purify me and who knows what other damage she might dream up."

"You are scared of a mere girl."

"She is not a mere girl. She is a miko and to top that a demoness. The demoness I could handle but add the miko powers on top of an angry demoness and you have nothing but trouble. I am not stupid enough to anger her over something like kidnapping her. It would be better if she chose to come to us of her own free will. Besides I do not want to anger her too much or I might end up with a necklace like my brothers."

"Good point. Although the necklace thing may be up for grabs. Did you forget about the collar on your neck. What does that thing do anyway."

"I don't know and neither does she. I suppose we will just have to wait and see." He heard a noise and turned around and spotted his brother in a tree at the edge of the clearing.

"Talking to yourself Sesshoumaru. I guess the blast from Tetsusaiga did some damage after all." Inuyasha jumped from the tree he had been resting on.

Sesshoumaru glared at his brother. "Hello little brother. Are you here to continue our fight?" He watched Inuyasha warily. He didn't want to hurt him because of Kagome but he would not risk him trying to harm her again.

"What did you do with Kagome?" Inuyasha looked around the clearing and sniffed the air. He could smell her scent ok she was headed back to the village.
"Never mind I know where she is."

"You have her to thank that you are alive right now. I wanted to kill you but she wanted to hear your reason for trying to kill her. I am giving you your chance to explain to her why you attacked her. I will warn you it had better be good or she just might kill you herself." Sesshoumaru jumped in the air and was soon gone from site.

Inuyasha shook his head. He was in so much trouble. Well I guess I had better get it over with. The sooner I face her the sooner we can begin hunting shards again.
