Chapter 27:

Kagoru was surprised when Inutaisha brought her sister into the hut. Usually the two fought like cats and dogs. However, Inutaisha and Sessha were being rather cooperative with each other. He had watched as the two sisters worked to make a more detailed plan for the attack on their enemies. Sessha seemed concerned about Inutaisha's wellbeing. Maybe it was because she was about to become an aunt and she did not want her sister to get hurt.

He shook his head. He watched patiently as they finished planning and Inutaisha walked back to him. "Kagoru, what is the matter?"

"You and your sister seem to be getting along better than expected." Kagoru replied.

"Is that bad?" She queried.

"No. I just never expected it." He responded.

Inutaisha gently kissed his lips, her fangs rubbing against his upper lip. "I love you Kagoru. Don't you ever forget that."

He smiled at her and pressed a kiss back. "I won't." He paused, "Don't you ever worry about the pups?"

"Of course I do. Their ours Kagoru. I worry about them all the time. However, we have to do this to make them safe."

He nodded, "I worry about you. Now that you are pregnant you can't be getting into fights."

"I know, but this has to be done Kagoru."

Kagoru knew that Inutaisha would be determined no matter what. "I know. I just don't want to see you getting hurt."

She smiled at him, "I'm not. Trust me Kagoru. I would never let those creeps hurt me."

Kagome watched as Kagoru and Inutaisha talked. "What's the matter Kagome?" Inuyasha asked her as he sat next to her.

"You think that Inutaisha is going to have two pups?"

"I know Inutaisha. She wouldn't lie about something so important." He replied.

"Do you think she really had a dream about her mother?"

"Kagome, why are you doubting her?"

"I'm not. I just don't want her to get hurt." Kagome said as she looked at Inuyasha.

"Kagome really. Inutaisha is strong and besides she will not go making a plan without knowing for sure she can do it." Inuyasha told her as he gently wrapped an arm around her waist and brushed his lips against hers. "Don't worry Kagome."

"I guess I shouldn't Inuyasha. I just worry about her pups."

He smiled, "Kagome there is something that I haven't told you."

Kagome looked up at him in confusion. "What is it?"

"When a female is pregnant with a child of demon heritage then the aura of the child will protect it until it is born." He explained.

"You mean that Inutaisha will have protection from her pups?"

"Exactly."

"When you mean female is that any female?"

"If you and I, for example, were to mate and you became pregnant then you would have the protection of the child."

Kagome smiled, "That would be nice."

"Yes." He agreed, "That would be."

Inutaisha watched as the moonlight shown down on the village below. It was nearly full moon and she became worried that she would not be able to carry out her plan. She rubbed her belly softly as she whispered soft words of love to her pups. "Are you nervous?" Her sister's voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Yes. Very much so. I don't know how things will turn out Sessha." She replied.

"You are worrying too much. Things will turn out well."

"I dreamed of Mama."

"When?"

"The night you came to visit me."

"What did she tell you?"

"She told me about the pups and that I should be careful." Inutaisha answered.

"I suppose mother knows that things will turn out for the best." Sessha told her sister.

"She always does."
