The Wish Made

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Kagome woke up surrounded by both her boys. Her eyes opened slowly, feeling drowsy and incoherent. How had she gotten into the bed? The last thing she could remember was standing at the window and thinking. She'd been holding the jewel in her hand. Her thoughts had settled on three years ago when she had shared a life bond with Yomi. She realized that she wanted to spend her life not only with him but Kurama as well. She had wished that she could share a special bond with both men she loved, so she could stay with them for life. Then she felt weird and then nothing. Her senses went out trying to find any sign of the jewel, there was nothing.

What did it mean? What had come of the wish she'd made? Her eyes went down to see she was still wearing the dress Naraku had put her in. Anger filled her, she had to get it off. She got up on unsteady legs, she needed to bathe. Maybe there was something in the closet she could put on. It opened and a lone tear slid down her face. Her bag was sitting in the corner, the one she'd left here three years ago.

She fell to her knees and pulled the bag out. He'd kept it, why? Why would he keep her things? Questions went through her mind, no answers followed. Her hand reached inside, she took out a blue sundress. It almost reminded her of the one she'd worn on that horrible date with Hojo. She couldn't wear a bra with it so only a clean pair of panties were grabbed.

The shower did the job of refreshing her, clearing her head for the most part. Why did she feel different? Not in a bad way, but different. Her appearance had shown nothing. After cleaning up she stepped out and looked into the mirror. Her hair was brushed and put into a bow. Then she saw it, a mark was on her neck. Very small but there. Three little dots forming the shape of a traingle. "How the hell did that get there?"

Her stomach growled informing her to go get some food. There was usually food downstairs, that's where she'd head. No one greeted her as she walked. Where was everyone, her senses told her Yomi and Kurama were in their rooms both sleeping. She was at the end of the hall she heard voices. Coming from the room loud enough for her to hear. Moaning! She extended her senses and gasped. Sesshoumaru and Mukuro? When the hell had that happened? OH, he was going to get an earfull.

Smiling she continued on her course. That dog was going to get it later. Kirara came sprinting up to her, jumping into her arms. "Kirara, hey girl. Where have you been?" They both went to the kitchen, there was several youkai working inside still. She cleared her throat getting their attention.

What she assumed to be the 'Ruler of the Kitchen' came up and bowed to her taking her off guard. "Yes, my lady."

"Yeah, um is it possible to get something to eat for the both of us?" She asked, also noticing that the other youkai kept their heads down.

"Yes of course, I'll bring it to you in moments, if you will wait in the dining area."

"Okay," She walked into the other room and sat at the long table. Kirara sniffed her face and meowed. She gave Kagome a quick lick on the chin. Several minutes later the man came out and handed her two plates one for her loaded with food and a small one with meat for Kirara. "Thank you."

He gawked at her then bowed. She tried to ignore his attitude and began to eat, so did the neko. A few youkai came in and out while she ate. Soon she stopped paying attention, none seemed to want to bother her. Kirara jumped on her lap when both became full.

Kagome became content to pet the neko, the purring sound soon became soothing. She wasn't sure how long she sat there. A menacing presence entered the room. She looked up as an arrow penetrated her chest. Blood oozed down her chest as she tried to move. Kirara jumped off her lap to transform, "Kirara no."

"Why aren't you dead?" The woman walked forward. Kagome remembered her also, she had been one of the two in the hall that confronted her. She had long black hair, blue eyes and small wings on her back. "I've always known why he kept me in his bed. For the last three years I have been the one he always called. I had it all, it didn't matter that I was a replacement for you. But you just had to come back didn't you." She released another arrow, it hit Kagome in the shoulder. "Sorry this might take awhile, I'm not nearly as good as shot as you."

Kagome watched in horror as the other youkai ran out the room, leaving just them two. What suprised her even more, why wasn't she dead? Her guard had been completely down, not believing someone would attack her while in his place. Her main worry had been Naraku, just her luck there was a woman that felt scorned. Her hand came up, trying to pull the arrows out. She swore finding they were lodged into the chair behind her. She snapped the wood in half. The wood slid out as she stood up.

"Don't worry hun, next time I will get your heart. Then I will kill that little brat upstairs."

Kagome saw red at the threat, she ran for the woman. She got an arrow off hitting Kagome in the stomach. She snatched it out throwing it to the ground. Her nails grew, glowing pink. The woman got a suprised look on her face as the nail swipped across her face.

She stumbled back a few feet dropping the bow. She growled, her claws going for Kagome's throat. The miko moved out the way, dodging the attack and landing her own. The youkai screamed once more as the nails tore through the flesh on her breast. The skin was burnt, her breast smoking.

Kagome grinned, "Oops, I missed. Don't worry hun, next time I will get your heart. Assuming you have one." The woman jumped at Kagome, they both fell to the floor. Kagome felt the woman squeezing her throat trying to straggle her. Instead of prying at the hands stopping her from breathing, she focused her power into her hand. She rammed it into the woman's chest, her fingers wrapped around her life giving organ.

She screamed as Kagome let her energy go, purifying her heart. The blast exploded, blood and flesh went flying everywhere. Kagome pushed the dead woman off her and stood up. Her eyes took in the damage she'd done. There was a huge hole in the woman's chest now but it had done the job.

The door burst open guards came running in, they stopped in their tracks at seeing the mess. "Oops," Kagome looked around. There was blood and chunks of meat on the table and the wall. She sighed and took a chair not sure what to do. If that woman had been Yomi's lover/mistress would they arrest her? Would he want revenge?

Kirara jumped into her lap again, meowing softly. She sat there as she sensed the two men coming down the hall. Were they always together? The man that had brought her the food came running out. He gasped at seeing the mess. Kagome felt bad suddenly, maybe she had went a little overboard on killing the woman. "Sorry, about the mess."

"What the hell did you do?" Yomi came in the room.

"I killed her," Kagome didn't know what else to say. He looked angry, guess she couldn't blame him. She stood up with the cat in her arms.

"You might want to leave Kagome." Kurama spoke to her.

"Fine." She stormed out the room. What the hell was she suppose to have done? Sit there and let the woman kill her. Then she had threatened to kill her child, the bitch had deserved it. Kagome suddenly felt like going in there and purifying the rest of the corpse. Anger filled her, what an asshole.

They stopped at the balcony, Kagome put the cat down. "Let's get out of here." The cat changed for her and they took off.

Yomi stood next to the corpse, "What happened? Why would Kagome attack her?" The blind man hadn't really cared about the dead girl. But she had been his constant bed companion for almost three years. He had taken her because her manner had reminded him a lot like Kagome. He had heard whispers that she also resembled the girl.

"We shouldn't jump to conclusions." Kurama stated.

"She would never attack anyone. I have been with her for over three years, she had a kind heart."

"I smell Kagome's blood as well but she didn't act like she was wounded." The fox walked around the room, he stopped next to the chair with the arrows sticking out. They were coated in blood. "Kagome's blood. Who was in this room when it started?"

"I was." A small girl that worked in the kitchen stepped forward. "I'm not sure what happened. I came in and grabbed the human female's dishes. I was walking away when I heard her make a sound. I turned around and she had an arrow in her chest." Her eyes went to the corpse on the floor. "She attacked the miko, I ran out after that."

"Impossible, you must have seen wrong. If Kagome would have been pierced in the chest, she'd be dead."

"Meaning do disrespect, but I know what I saw. The miko was pinned to the chair where the arrows now sit." The girl bowed.

"The arrows are here and they are coated with Kagome's blood." Kurama stared at them. "How did she live? Her life should have ended with that first shot." His finger came out wiping the red liquid off.

"Clean this mess up." He sighed and backed out the room. He left to find the girl Kurama had just sent out the room. His heart sank at the idea, she should be dead. Why wasn't she? Another question plaqued him, why did he feel different as did Kurama?

"Down there?" Kagome instructed the neko to go to the spot she sensed. They did a drive by inspection, that was it. Naraku's cave. "Let's head back and tell the others." They flew back without any mishaps which didn't seem right. Her guess was that Naraku had already moved on.

Kagome wasn't sure how long they had been gone but she was hungry again. Should she apologize to him for what she'd done? What other choice did she have? She felt bad about killing the woman but she hadn't started it. If Yomi had wanted the woman in his bed, Kagome wouldn't have interfered. She loved him but she wouldn't force a man to give her attention no matter who he is.

She spotted Kurama standing on a balcony looking up at her as she approached. Kirara landed beside him and she climbed off. Her eyes stayed forward refusing to look at him. Anger came back, screw them both. He didn't say anything as she walked past. His eyes followed her but she had one destination in mind. She'd left something in Yomi's room the other night and she was going to retrieve it. Then she was heading back out to that cave.

Her feet carried her into the man's room, she was just glad that he wasn't there. The fang was on the floor next to the bed, her hand grabbed it. Her anger began to disappear as she held onto it. Well until someone spoke to her from the door. "What are you doing in here?"

She felt the anger rise again. As she strapped the sword to her side she answered the fox. Sarcasm laced her words, "If you really must know I'm waiting for Yomi to come back. I feel like a good fuck." She heard his intake of breath and suddenly felt guilty.

"Well if that's what you are looking for, I'm more than happy to oblige."
