The Crystal Caves

A cavern where the Angels lay
Their weary heads from the fall
Their wings to heavy to return
To heaven's constant call

They remain here trapped in earth
A human being's fate they mold
The heat of the demon they send out
To keep man from being so bold

The crystal creation of shining light
Looks like silver ice that will not melt
As I gaze upon these things in amazement
A deep emotion is felt

My dreams have come alive to touch
I almost feel deceived
A place of mythical creation that should not exist
My eyes cannot believe

Sesshoumaru teleported Mirage to their destination since when he said he was taking them home, he didn’t mean his mansion. He meant the home he had not been to in almost 50 years. After the incident at the hotel this was the safest place for all of them to be.

Soon they were standing right in front of a large open mouthed cave. The front of this cave had a sign that said Tashio Art and Culture Museum. The sign hand an arrow pointing down what looked like an amusement park ride's pathway. There was an English translation below the large Japanese symbols. There were indeed cars like on a roller coaster sitting still in long rows. Mirage looked at Sesshoumaru who shrugged smiling although slightly embarrassed by the whole thing. These were just replicas of his family heirlooms that the tourists came to see. Nothing in there was of real value since that was all under spells that only he or specific members of his family could unlock. Where he was going to take her did indeed hold items of value.

"This was Kouga's idea. It seemed to help keep our Castle hidden from prying eyes. Most people including demons see this place as just a Museum. We have people who come to clean our collections, servants who live deep within the mountain not wishing to understand modern times. Demons are much like vampires in the sense we live so very long that adapting to a rapidly changing world can be difficult for some of our kind.'
"The wolves, the cats, and the Inu demons have not had problems with adapting. We tend to be the ones who like to change things since life is so long things would be terribly boring if we kept going as we always did.'
"I rarely come here if at all anymore. Deep inside of this mountain though you will see what had been my home over 1000 years ago."

Mirage watched Sesshoumaru as he touched a rock and slid his hand though it. It was amazing to see this since the rock a second ago when she had touched it was solid.

"I placed a barrier up, but now we shall pass through. Only the Tashio's can come through this and there are other entrances. Each one set up for specific members of our pack. We do not wish to have intruders enter within. Give me your hand Mirage."

Mirage grasped Sesshoumaru's hand. Sesshoumaru brought her fingers to his lips kissing them, and then pricked one of her fingers with his fangs. Her blood touched the barrier and suddenly they were both inside of a dark cavern lit only with torches on the walls of blue flame.

"Wow, I feel like I have warped back into the past. I love caves, this one is huge. I wonder what kind of rock is in these walls, it is hard to see. I would love to do some rock hunting down here for crystals. It seems like there are a ton of them in here."

Sesshoumaru smiled as Mirage looked at the adamant that was incrusted on the walls as well as the simple clear quartz. It was amusing to find that his mate was enjoying the pretty quartz over the adamant that had made the Tashio's so wealthy. It was a huge diamond mine and they had also found various clusters of gold. This was Inu No Tashio's grand Palace and it had indeed been a jewel in itself to demons since the Tashio's had always been blessed with the best of everything.

"We can do that later. If you love rocks this much then you will really appreciate my rock collections. I also have many other collections to show you. Every member of the family has them and of course Rin has a flower collection that the many famous botanical gardens would be quite envious since we have a large underground greenhouse. If we needed to as a family we could survive here forever.'
"I have in this home a whole world for you to explore, but for now let’s start from the beginning. It is easy to get lost in here if you are not careful. I used to spend days trying to find my way back to my bedroom and my Father had to search me out only to find me usually lost in some collection room that I kept going back to since I would often find myself going in circles in this big place. Soon you will learn like I did how to use your senses to guide you through this giant maze I once called home."
Mirage looked at the walls of crystal, diamond, and various other stones that she would have to look up later as Sesshoumaru was leading her down the long dark passageway. Mirage stopped with Sesshoumaru looking at her for a moment to figure out what was wrong until she took off her shoes. The high heels were clicking against the stone floor and it was uneven making it hard to keep balanced. Sesshoumaru then really felt tall next to the tiny woman. She was taller then the Japanese women, but still seemed so very small next to him. Sesshoumaru smirked a bit. It figured that his mate would also wander about without shoes on occasion and that was rather typical of most of his pack. Mirage once again took his arm in hers as they wandered further down the pathway.

Sesshoumaru saw a rat run by them and suddenly Mirage growled changing into her demon dog form she attacked the tiny rat then looked up at Sesshoumaru with innocent eyes with the dead rat in her mouth. Her dress was on the floor in ruins. It had been amusing, but hardly worth the effort.

Still she wagged her tail at him sitting feeling rather proud of herself. Then she placed the rat at his feet as a present. He was the Alpha and it was his right to check the kill as well as eat it before she did. Mirage didn’t want to eat it though, she just was pretty happy to have a new chew toy if he didn’t want it.

"No thanks sweetheart. I appreciate the offer I just don't think I can eat anymore after that feast we had earlier. I know I could not stomach another rat and that one is no demon so you did not have to kill it."

Mirage nodded grasped the dead rat in her mouth and started digging on the side of the cave burying it for later then yipped at Sesshoumaru wagging her tail as they walked on. She was so damn cute in her dog form with that long pink tongue hanging out one side of her mouth with a permanent puppy grin on her face as she nuzzled his hand every once in a while getting a soft pat on her head.

"You are very silly my mate, but I am glad you like this form. Now you just can't change back until we get you to the bedroom. I won't have you running about naked with so many people around. I just hope that you don't mind wearing something a bit old fashioned. I don't have any modern clothing here since I do not stay at this palace anymore."

Mirage blinked at Sesshoumaru and nodded then barked at him.

"You wish to wear a Prince's cloths? Assassin? Like my old hakumas on the cartoon? That is not proper my dearest."

Mirage growled at Sesshoumaru sitting on the floor refusing to move. Sesshoumaru stood with his hands on his hips tapping his foot on the floor at her. Mirage growled low and barked at him again.

"No I don't want to bend on this. Fine. Nothing of mine is going to fit you, but if you insist.........ok fine Inuyasha's stuff will fit better since he is shorter then I am. Still it isn't going to fit you.......I am not arguing. Look if you want to wear it then I will just have to have the tailor make some adjustments, but you may have to temporarily wear something feminine for a while."

With that Mirage licked his fingers nuzzling his leg looking up at Sesshoumaru with gratitude in her eyes.

"Don't push it honey. I can't believe what a sap I am becoming over you."

Sesshoumaru stated kneeling on one knee and petting behind Mirage's ears. Mirage licked his face and Sesshoumaru smiled.

"I can't believe you want one of my Kimono's when the females in my day would have given anything to be given a Princess kimono in the fine silks I had them made in just for such emergencies as these."

Mirage barked again wagging her tail as she kept looking around enjoying this form since she saw the world so differently and it was rather fun being a dog. Not much bothered her as far as dirt went and she had this urge to go roll in the mud for some dumb reason. If Sesshoumaru were to tell her to go fetch a stick she had this gut feeling she would probably do it. Sesshoumaru really started to laugh when Mirage had to stop to itch when he pet a spot that tickled. He did this a few times knowing they were wasting time, but this was too much fun to resist. Mirage then in the midst of her laughter smelled something then stood in front of her mate growling low as her fur raised up on end. Sesshoumaru knew this person, but wanted to see his reaction to Mirage.

"Ya I could smell them over here Kouga!"

Inuyasha stated as he found himself face to face with a white demon wolf that jumped on him knocking him flat licking his face like crazy. Sesshoumaru started laughing as Inuyasha was trying to escape Mirage's tongue bath. The little ears were once again on top of his brother's head and the silver hair was flowing down his back.

"Mirage, what the fuck.......stop it ya big puppy."

Mirage whimpered looking at Inuyasha. She was happy to see him and Inuyasha turned several shades of red when she started sniffing between his legs. Sesshoumaru smirked as Mirage barked at him sitting next to her mate wagging her tail happily.

"That was not shaking hands Mirage. That was causing me hell."

Mirage barked again and the others came into view. Kouga and Sesshoumaru were laughing, but the others were still fairly new to learning the full language of dogs so they did not know what was going on.

Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Rin did not change into any other form except the hanyou they were with being human once a month just as Inuyasha had to do except he had two days as a human considering his full demon status. Inuyasha could change, but being the kind of hanyou he was he understood animals. Inuyasha understood Sesshoumaru perfectly in his dog form and even some of the wolves’ language.

"Sesshoumaru, isn't Mirage rather small for a demon dog? I thought she would be as big as you are."

Kagome stated softly. Sango smirked at her sister. Kagome in some ways was still very naive to the way of demons.

"They can change sizes Kagome. I just feel bad about her dress. It is gone for good. Just hope she does not mind your old fashioned kimonos. They are quite beautiful, but I don't know if any of them will fit her. Mirage is so much taller then most Japanese women, especially those of us from that era."

Inuyasha heard Mirage barking and started laughing even harder with Sesshoumaru rolling his eyes placing a hand on his forehead as if a bad headache was coming on with Kouga looking horrified.

"She can't wear that.......it would be......."

Mirage growled at Kouga lowly. Sesshoumaru put a reassuring hand on her head.

"Please do not argue with my mate. I made a promise and I intend to keep it no matter how ridiculous we both think it is or how amusing Inuyasha seems to think it is."

Kagome looked at them all like they were insane. Sango suddenly got what Mirage wanted and smiled knowing how she felt.

"Oh please, you men are so old fashioned. Of course she can wear a Prince's kimono these days and I bet you will all really appreciate it. I wore my cat suit for years and that was very much a man's armor. Still it kept me from being damaged by the foes I had to fight. I will be more then happy to help her with it. None of those female kimonos would fit her right. She is much too tall for them. Inuyasha's nice white silk one that is much like yours Sesshoumaru will look quite elegant on Mirage."

Mirage wagged her tail then looked up at Sesshoumaru with a smirk on her face. Kagome nodded and thought about some things that would help.

"I have some good ideas too. Come on Mirage we will show you to the tailor and help you with this. It will be a great surprise."

Sesshoumaru saw Mirage look up at him with pleading eyes then barked nuzzling his hand gently to let him know she really did want him to show her around first.

"How about we meet up with all of you later then you can surprise us with her new things Kagome and Sango. I really want to take Mirage to see some of my home before everyone else gets here. Then you both can have her for a while."

Everyone agreed as they went their separate ways. Sesshoumaru looked down at Mirage surprised that she did not just take off with the women. Kneeling down stroking her fur and rubbing her ears he felt such love for his mate.

"Thank you for letting me do this for you. It means more to me then you can imagine."

Mirage then waited for him to show her around. Walking out of the long cavern there were several other caverns in a huge room going different directions with different Japanese symbols above each entrance. The room was beautiful with flowers, trees, and birds everywhere. It was like looking at the Garden of Eden with a waterfall in the center. There were hot springs and a large pool of water that looked inviting. Sesshoumaru stopped his mate holding her back from jumping into the lake.

"I am not going to have you shake water all over me again baby. That is also my koi pond. I don't think my fish would appreciate you jumping in there. That is what the hot springs are for and we can do that later. We have a much more private area just for us in our chambers and it is much more scenic. I am sure you will appreciate it."

Mirage followed Sesshoumaru through one of the caves on the left side with a blue glowing symbol. She tried to recall it just in case she got lost in this place.

"No point in trying to recall it. The symbols on the wall change all the time. The only way you will know where you are is by scent and touch. As your paws touch the ground and you smell the air you will start to become familiar with each passageway. Each one is a portal. It just looks like different caves to confuse intruders.’
“We have many traps just in case we are infiltrated. Every once in a while we have to clean out the bodies that end up here from people who try to sneak into this place. We have locks, barriers, and other disguises like illusions of guard dogs to keep people out. Still they try to get in anyway. I have guards posted all the time here as well. Nothing gets past that first section that is not supposed to be here. If it does we deal with it swiftly."

Mirage nodded and felt overwhelmed by the fact this was going to be quite the challenge. If she was on her own in here she would definitely get lost. There were guards that bowed to them at the end of the passageway as they stepped into a huge courtyard. There was light flowing in from some kind of spell that lit up the whole cavern and it looked like glorious chandeliers were hanging from the ceiling. The round room had a wooden floor with the walls shimmering as the crystals reflected the light making it an incredible sight. There were paper and bamboo doors with painted symbols on the thin transparent squares so that it created the illusion that this was indeed inside of a simple structure rather then a mountain. Statues with suits of armor from different eras stood on two opposing walls as if they were also part of the guard. The room was empty other then there were huge marble pillars that seemed to hold up the ceiling of this room and the marble benches that were sitting against the walls.

"This is of course the grand hall. Not the ballroom although for smaller parties we have had our dances held here. There used to be great events in this hallway and sometimes I think I can still hear my Father's voice as he laughed with his old friends in this room. My Mother hated this hall. She called it the place where the dead come to grace us with their presence.'
"It was rather boring for her to have to mingle with the courtiers since she did not like any of them. Father only had a select few individuals she could stand that they would associate with.'
"I too found this to be a distasteful thing to have so many people I did not care for come here. We still do from time to time though since I am King of All Demons. It is my duty, but unlike times of the past we can leave after we have greeted all of the annoying guests if we desire to do so. We are not forced to stay at the entire event. I am sure after a time you will be able to adapt quite well.'
"You still have to meet my whole family and for this we will be here in this room for a time. Then we will go to the dining hall for the banquet. It is not something we do often, but this is a special occasion. If we would not have been attacked at the hotel there was a grand ballroom I had set up for all of this.’
“I prefer to not do such things here in my ancestral home anymore. I am somehow going to have to figure out how to get your little family in here for our wedding since they are flying out tonight. I had so much planned at the hotel and it would have made things run much smoother. Still, Lee will be meeting them and the Higurashi's as well. This is to be quite the night."

Sesshoumaru smiled and Mirage felt ill. So many people, it was so many people.......
Mirage changed back into her humanoid self with her tail looking very pale like she was going to be sick.

"That is a lot of people......just to meet me. I mean were those two thousand people we saw outside of the hotel your family?"

Sesshoumaru helped Mirage up from the floor smirking at the fact she was exactly how he wanted her to be except he did not wish for the guards to see her like this.

"Turn your backs soldiers unless you want me to tear your eyes out."

All the soldiers turned around with one very young one blushing terribly as the others smirked. It was a fine sight to behold and their Lord did well in choosing his mate. Sesshoumaru could read their thoughts, but chose to ignore them. It would not do well to embarrass Mirage any further. He would deal with them later.

"It is ok my love. I will help you. I am going to wrap you in your tail and carry you. I don't think you are in a state of mind to change back into the form you have been in."

Sesshoumaru stated softly. Mirage allowed him to do this as he ordered his men to move away from the door as he walked through growling a bit at them as they turned around all knowing they were in deep shit for looking at their Lord's mate in the first place.

An elder officer came into the room and the punishment began without another word being said since the men should have had their eyes averted in the first place while their Lord was with his mate. These men would not ever do such a thing again and once the exercises were over they would return to their posts as new guards took their place.

Sesshoumaru had to skip two of the rooms he wanted to show Mirage to get them to their chambers. Mirage could not go wander the collection rooms with nothing on. There were always family members in those rooms and servants. In her dog form she could do so, but not now. Mirage just had the worst timing on this sort of thing, but it was not her fault. This was all so new to her and Sesshoumaru was patient. Mirage would be fine and things would go smoothly. If nothing else he would pretend they were perfectly fine as always since as a Lord royalty do not make mistakes, everyone else does or he meant for those things to happen. No one would question it if they wanted to live.

Mirage looked at the room that was to be their bedroom as Sesshoumaru closed the doors. It was amazing and Sesshoumaru smiled. He was pleased with his mate's reaction. It was an incredible room with white tapestries embroidered with his family crest and paintings. The center was a huge bed with a large furry white blanket. The sheets were white satin as were the multitudes of pillows. There was a desk made of mahogany with an elegant chair on each side matching perfectly with a white satin cushion on the hard wood chair that had the patterns of butterflies dancing. The painting was of Sesshoumaru's Father on one side of the room and then his Mother on the other side. There was a large canopy over the bed with red curtains that she could see through. The walls had the same crystals as the hallways and the adamant encrusted in them as well.

There was a hot springs in an adjourning room. Plants were everywhere as were flowers. There were two vanities on each side of the room and two wardrobes of the same mahogany wood. Everything was carved or etched to perfection. It was so beautiful it made Mirage think she was just dreaming.

"So I take it you like this room."

Sesshoumaru said softly as he wrapped his arms around his mate. Mirage did not have the words to describe the beauty of it. It was too much. Mirage turned looking at her mate who now once again had his long silver hair flowing about him and the beautiful markings she had come to love.

"I hate you have to hide this part of yourself Sesshoumaru. I am exposed to you my love so now it is time for me to see all of your glorious self again. I think I am going to ruin another one of your suits."

Sesshoumaru smiled wide letting his long sharp fangs show as Mirage roughly pulled off his blazer. Then next she took off the tie putting it into his hand.

"Hold onto that. I have an idea and we can use this."

Sesshoumaru smiled since he liked where her mind was heading. Tearing off his shirt with her claws the buttons once again went flying. Sesshoumaru smiled.

"You really like doing that don't you?"

Mirage smirked wickedly as she really wanted to use that bed right now.

"Yes I do. You are going to be button less every time. You should just go naked period and forget cloths. Either that or we need to get Velcro so it is easy to remove."

Sesshoumaru laughed and took his shoes and socks off. Then he lifted his little mate to the bed. He did not want her to remove his pants just yet although she had pretty much destroyed his belt with those sharp claws since she lost patience with the buckle.

Mirage loved the feel of the soft fur on the bed. It felt so wonderful and she wondered what kind of fur it was. Sesshoumaru smiled, it was actually fur that had been woven from his Father's fur when he shed. The servants picked up all the huge long shedding fur from his Mother, his Father, and even from his own pelt making several blankets out of the soft fur. Then after it was woven it was attached to the silken material making it soft, warm, and elegant. Sesshoumaru would tell her after they enjoyed one another.

Diving in between her legs Sesshoumaru feasted on his mate's very wet pussy as he smiled despite himself in the fact he had indeed smelled her arousal in her dog demon form the whole way to their room and had been trying hard to be good. He knew his mate had wanted him, but he wanted her to get to the point that she could not take it anymore. He had hoped she would do what she had been thinking in her dog demon form when they got in here and licked him as he had done her in his dog form. Then he got a wicked idea. All of a sudden Sesshoumaru changed into the dog form still enjoying his mate. Mirage was not paying attention to his change enjoying the feelings with her eyes closed. Sesshoumaru smiled wickedly as he nuzzled and licked her warm wet core. His pants in the change were ripped to shreds. Moving forward he placed each powerful large paw on each side of his mate as he entered her. Mirage felt the fur of his legs and her eyes went wide as her demon mate shoved himself deep into her body. It was so wicked and wild. Grasping his muzzle Mirage rubbed his ears then whispered as she panted with him moving deep inside of her feeling so damn good it was indescribable.

"Wouldn't you like this better my love if I was in a more natural position for you?"

Sesshoumaru smirked and barked not letting her move. He was enjoying this. Sesshoumaru pounded into her and then howled letting his seed flow into her body. Mirage felt her blood pumping with the beating of his heart and then felt him pull out turning back into his humanoid form. Kissing Mirage and nuzzling her Mirage held her mate tightly.

"So if I turn into a demon dog will you do that to me in this form? I think I like this kinky side of you Sesshoumaru."

Mirage stated with a smirk. Sesshoumaru kissed her deeply and touched her face softly.

"I will do this in any form you desire. I had fun doing that with you and we will do this again as many times as you would like."

Sesshoumaru and Mirage felt tired. Wrapped in each other's arms Sesshoumaru pulled the blanket over them both so they could rest a bit. Family would just have to wait a while longer as Sesshoumaru for the first time in a long time slept well.
