Chapter Twenty-Six


Kagome closed her eyes as his lips claimed hers, the touch was warm and comforting. He deepened the kiss sliding his tongue in her mouth. She opened giving him access to her mouth. Tears streamed down her face as he kissed her.

"I hate to interrupt but you should go and see to the two boys. The little one was most distressed finding you gone Kagome." Sesshoumaru watched them pull apart. He could also feel the anger coming off the two men beside him. Served them right, maybe after Inuyasha was gone they'd stop being asses.

Kagome got up quickly, leaving a stunned Inuyasha there. Her feet carried her past everyone as they stared at her. She ran into the city shoving a few youkai out her way. Her heart saddened at hearing that one of them had gotten upset. She was sure it was Miroku.

Tilynn glanced up when she entered the room. "Kagome, you're back."

Kagome ran straight to the bed, the boys jumped into her arms. They started crying seeing the blood on her clothes. "Shh, I'm okay. Just a scratch."

"Wat dat?" Miroku grabbed her hand that was still holding onto the jewel.

She'd forgotten all about it, "The shikon jewel."

"Pewty."

"Who's that?" Kohaku was looking at the door. Kagome turned to see Inuyasha standing in the doorway, with a weird expression on his face.

"That is a friend of Momma's. Inuyasha, I'd like you to meet Miroku and Kohaku, my sons." She waited for an explosion but it never came.

He walked into the room and stood in front of them. "Hey, that one is cute." He was referring to Kohaku.

"You're just saying that cause he has ears like you." Kagome smiled.

"I think we need to talk Kagome." He looked around, "Can we go somewhere private?"

"Can you take the boys to go get something to eat Tilynn?" The old lady got up and grabbed the boy's, all three walked out and the door closed behind her. "I'm sure you have questions."

"I only have one. Do you love them and I don't mean the kids." He sat down next to her waiting for her answer.

"Yes. I'm sorry." She should feel guilty about loving again but she didn't. "It just happened."

His arms came around her pulling her into a tight embrace. "It's okay. I want you to be happy, you once stepped aside for me. You told me you wanted me to be happy. Now, I will gladly step aside so you can be happy."

"Inuyasha."

"Don't get all sappy on me now. Besides I only got a few minutes before I have to leave again."

"No, you can't leave me again." A tear slipped down her cheek.

"Don't be stupid. I'll always be with you. Be happy Kagome, for me. You have a family now, you've moved on." He placed a kiss on top of her head. "I do have one more question. How did you have twins with different fathers? Threesome?"

"You pervert. Why does everyone think that?"

"Don't get bitchy, it was a reasonable question. They are youkai, it's not like they'd be against the idea."

She blushed all the way to her roots. "I'm not discussing my sex life with you."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Don't have to I can still smell the one all over you." He lifted his eyebrow, "So, how did it happen?"

"I'm not answering that." She glared at him.

"Fine. I have to be going Kagome." He pulled her back into his embrace. "Remember what I said. Don't feel bad about wanting both, not if both of them love you."

She shook her head not being able to speak. "Kay. I love you Inuyasha."

"I love you Kagome."


Koenma walked up to Yomi and Kurama, he needed to take Inuyasha back to spirit world soon. "He wants to speak to you both before he returns. I suggest you humor him."

They followed Koenma to where the hanyou was waiting for them. He had his back turned looking out over the city, his ears twitched when he heard them approaching. Koenma opened the portal and stepped through informing him to do so when he was done.

"What do you want?" Kurama asked him.

"Hn. No need to be an ass." He smirked. He turned to them and smiled. "I've talked to Kagome. I want you both to take care of her for me. I don't like leaving her again but if I got to then I want to know that she will be okay. I don't expect you two to say anything to me, you both reek of jealousy. Either way she loves both of you, make her happy." He sighed and stepped into the portal, it closed behind him.

They stood there not saying anything, taking in everything the hanyou had said. Kurama was about to speak when he suddenly felt light headed and fell to his knees. He glanced over to see Yomi holding onto the railing panting.

"What's happening?" Kurama looked around but didn't see anyone near. Nor could he sense anyone.

Yomi didn't know what to say, he'd felt something similiar to this before. But it hadn't been as intense.


Kagome stood inside her room thinking after watching Inuyasha leave. For some reason she wasn't a sad as she should have been. Nothing was the same now as it was when she'd left him over five years ago. She was a different person in many ways. Her mind went back to earlier when Naraku had been controlling her. A part of her had been aware of everything, she hadn't been able to move her body or speak.

Her heart leapt at remembering the way Yomi had stood there ready to die. Demanding that nobody hurt her even if it meant his own death. Then Kurama had tried speaking to her, his words had reached her. She still loved Inuyasha but she loved them also. They were the ones she wanted to be with.

Her hand brought the jewel up, she gazed at it. What was she to do with it now? Would Naraku come for it? There was a way to get rid of it for good. Use it, make a wish. A smile grazed her face as she thought about it. She held the jewel to her chest and spoke her wish.
