Why the Dog Howls At The Moon

A/N: I would like to dedicate this chapter to my First comment poster ShouraiChan.

I want to apologize to everyone for not getting this chapter up sooner. I got kind of busy this week. This past weekend was my 20th birthday I am officially no longer a teenager. *dose happy dance* so I was busy getting details organized and having fun with my friends. With out further wait here is the next chapter in this crazy Sesshomaru and Anaminé saga.


It was around 2 in the afternoon when Inu Taisho snuck into Anaminé and Sesshomaru’s room. The room very dimly lit and Anaminé was curled up on the bed her head resting on Sesshomaru’s pillows and her legs at the foot of her side of the bed. Her hair was still up in its braid from the night befor strands of hair had fallen out. Inu Taisho walked over and pulled the covers up over her some more, and moving some hair out of her face. Anaminé stirred some slowly opening her eyes.

“Sesshomaru?” She whispered in her sleepy voice.

“No precious on it’s me, Sesshomaru said he had to head back home for a day or two, get you guys some things, things for the babies, and check in at the school. I promised him id come in and check on you.” Inu Taisho whispered.

Anaminé nodded and hugged Sesshomaru’s pillows closer and took in Sesshomaru’s scent. Inu Tiasho walked over to the three bassinets that his grandpups laid in. Sound asleep they would stay like that for another half hour or so since they had fed recently. He made sure all of them where wrapped securely in the blankets befor heading back to the door where Anaminé’s voice stopped him.

“Taisho papa will you sit next to me and stroke my hair untill I fall back to sleep like my papa use to do.” Anaminé asked softly

Inu Taisho gave a sweet sympatric smile and walked over to the bed and sat on the edge starting to stroke Anaminé’s silky soft silver hair.

As Anaminé slept she dreamed. She stood once again in the field of moon lilies she hadn’t been here since she had been rescued. She looked around the field looking for Mizuku.

“Mizuku did you call me here?” Anaminé called out.

Just like the first time she had met the girl she appeared out of now where smiling at her.

“Is something wrong Mizuku?” Anaminé asked

“Not at this point in time friend I wanted to tell you congratulations” Mizuku said befor she turned her gaze up to the moon.

“Do you miss it?” Anaminé asked

“Yes but I know I will return at some point. Can I ask you something Anaminé” Mizuku replied looking over to Anaminé.

Anaminé nodded.

“Do you know why the dog howls at the moon” Mizuku asked.
“I would think it’s just in their nature they have been doing it since the begging of time” Anaminé said.

“They haven’t though” Mizuku said

“Then why dose the dog howl at the moon?” Anaminé asked looking at the other girl.

“I guess you will have to figure it out wont you when you think you have the answer come and find me” Mizuku said befor she disappeared and Anaminé was woken up by her crying babies.

Anaminé was sitting in her bed holding Takeshi in her arms humming to him to try and get him to go to sleep. She looked up as her bedroom door began to open revealing Lord Tanashi carrying a tray of food. Anaminé’s eyes widened some.

“Lord Tanashi when did you get here?” Anaminé asked surprised.

“No long ago. Taisho couldn’t help but call me with the good news early this morning. So me and my family couldn’t help but come and see the new prince and princesses” Tanashi said setting the tray down on the bed.

“Here you get some food in you and ill handle this one for you” Tanashi said gently taking the small baby boy from her arms.

The little boy made a small whimper as it was taken from his mothers warm arms but was silences as Tanashi wrapped his large arms around the infant. Anaminé smiled taking a bowl of her favorite soup and began to eat. She wouldn’t have said anything but she was starved.

“I don’t care how old you get or how many kids you have Anaminé you will always be little Sano to me” Tanashi said smiling over at her.

Anaminé couldn’t help but laugh.

“You really have done a wonderful job dealing with everything in your life lately.” Tanashi added.

“Thank you it hasn’t been easy but knowing I had Sesshomaru there with me just made it easier. When the south had me the only person I could keep in my head threw all the pain was Sesshomaru. At night I could swear at night I could feel his arms around me.” Anaminé said with a sad smile as she talked about it for the first time since it all happened.

Tanashi nodded “He was heartbroken when you where gone I hadn’t seen him like that since his mother died, I heard from Taisho that when ever he was home he just sat in your room holding onto that rabbit of yours.” Tanashi said as he sat the now sleeping infant in its bassinet.

Anaminé finished up her soup and took some grapes from the fruit bowl and ate them.

“When I was younger I thought he would never notice me but threw the smallest amount of hope I kept I thought if I continued to try he would one day notice me.” Anaminé said looking down at her lap.

“Looks like it worked. A girl everyone saw as a weak runt and a hindrance for her pack has shone threw to be the strongest. Able to capture the attention and affection of the prince of the western land. Who never mated for thousands of years, and has been known for his icy heart. You are the one who shone threw out of every demon he has ever come in contact with.” Tanashi said sitting on the edge of the large bed looking at Anaminé.

“Yeah but I know everything with the south isn’t over it’s just a matter of time befor they try something. I swear though if they do anything to my babies there won’t be anyone I that damned family to become lord or lady of that land” Anaminé said with a deadly look in her normally gentle blue eyes.

“I think we all can say that you are two loved by the western land family and mine so you have no need to worry” Tanashi said with a smile.

“I should go now that you’re done eating; you might want some rest befor the others want to eat again.” Tanashi said taking the tray from the bed as he stood up and left the room.

When Sesshomaru entered the bed room after he had gotten back from being in Tokyo for a few days. He saw Anaminé standing in the door way that lead out to the beach, upon hearing him enter she turned her head and smiled and ran to him her bare feet making no sound on the wooden floor. Sesshomaru wrapped his arms around her waist holding her close and burying his noise into her hair taking in her scent, he hated being away from her and their new born pups.

Anaminé rested her head on Sesshomaru’s shoulder taking in his strong scent, always calming her and making her feel safe. She enjoyed feeling his arms around her again even though he had been gone for only a few days she had missed him. After the two of them standing there holding each other for a few moments the two parted and Sesshomaru went over to the pups and ran his knuckle over each of their cheeks letting out a soft protective growl.

Anaminé went over to the bed sitting down on it she was wearing a light weight long knight gown with a long yukata over it as a robe. Her hair was down and hung around her and lay around her like a cape when she sat down.

“How is everything back home?” Anaminé asked as Sesshomaru began to bring in the things he had gone after.
“Everything is good the house isn’t in shambles Suikotsu is keeping it clean and in order. All of your friends are wanting visitation as soon as we get back into town. I have a lot to grade from my absence.” Sesshomaru informed his mate as he closed the bedroom door.

“Lord Tanashi is here have you seen him yet?” Anaminé asked as Sesshomaru walked over to the bed and sat down.

“Yes he helped me unload some of the things.” Sesshomaru said moving some hair out of her face.

“I hope everything has been okay with you while I’ve been gone.” Sesshomaru said

Anaminé nodded “Yes I sleep when I can your father and the others make sure I’m well fed and when I’m not tired come and visit with me so I didn’t get lonely or stir crazy”

“Good I hear from Tanashi my father has already started to plan the presentation ceremony.” Sesshomaru said

Anaminé nodded again “Yes I’m starting to wonder what he was like when you and Inu Yasha where born. He is just so happy and excited to be a grandfather when he visits he makes sure they are all wrapped up and is always holding one of them”

Sesshomaru sighed “He doesn’t tend to get over excited some times”

“But that’s okay he is aloud” Anaminé said looking over at the bassinets

“When was the last time they ate” Sesshomaru asked

“not to long ago maybe fifteen twenty minutes ago.” Anaminé answered.

“And yourself when was the last time you ate?” Sesshomaru asked

“Breakfast I’m expecting someone to pop up soon with food they normally do around this time of day” Anaminé answered

“Ill go let the kitchen know to bring my food as well I will be right back” Sesshomaru said placing a kiss on Anaminé’s forehead.

Anaminé nodded and laid back on the bed as Sesshomaru left. She let a content sigh escape her lips it was a beautiful warm spring day and Sesshomaru was back, she had her babies sleeping contently and family and friends close by her life was finally the happiest it’s been since her parents died.
