The Races

Chapter 26

There wounds were slowing their progress into the house, Kagome was limping and Sesshoumaru was Hobbling along until they reached the inside of the house. They stood side by side and Sesshoumaru straightened up as He entered to Dinning room.

Every one was gathered around Souta who was in sever pain from the look on his face. The two twins connected eyes and Souta knew that it was from her. Her eyes held the pain that he was feeling and she held a sympathetic look for him because she was giving her pain to her sweet little brother. He was strong obviously, because she had passed a little less than a fourth of her pain to him so that she could face the room and handle the discussion that was going to follow.

As Kagome approached the table she noticed that her senses were dulled. Her hearing and sight was low as well as her miko powers. All of her remainder strength was being pulled into holding her up and she seemed to glide across the room and sit down next to where Sesshoumaru would sit.

As every one seemed to see that Souta was going to be ok, they moved to their places at the table, Souta sat across from Kagome and the too had what seemed like a silent conversation between the two of them. Finally they looked away from one another and Kagome spoke, “Inu-No-Tashio, did any one go and get my mother and little brother this morning?”

“It was un-necessary. Shippo found his own way here this morning and he should be joining us soon. Your mother how ever did not accompany him.” Inu-No-Tashio said as the doors to the dinning room opened and in walked Shippo.

Shippo ran to Kagome as she got out of her chair with a grimace that only Souta and Sesshoumaru seemed to notice. “Kaogme…” He shouted as he slammed into her body full force. Kagome bit her lip to block out the pain and not moan out. Souta however groaned out loud, though every one looked at him but his eyes stayed shut until the pain subsided.. “I am so glad that you are back and I have your car… and guess what.”

Kagome released him and had him sit down, she responded with a groan as she sat down. “What?” She asked as lightly as she could.

“I have your car and it’s in one piece, Dad did not touch it… Come to think of it he wasn’t even home for most of the time you were gone… Something about a business trip.” Shippo said a bit confused like he knew that there was some thing fishy going on but he couldn’t pin what it was.

“That’s good because I wish to start to race again in the next couple of day I bet I have to start off on the bottom again.” She sighed trying to ignore her pain. Sesshoumaru gave her a look but she ignored it. It was a look that said that he didn’t want her to race in her condition and Kagome didn’t care.

The remainder of breakfast was uneventful, except for Souta’s hiss of pain every once in awhile, it was after Breakfast that it became interesting.

“I take that the business that I sent you on went well.” Inu-No-Tashio stated more than asked.

“Of course.” Sesshoumaru said as he looked over at Kagome she seemed to be struggling but not showing it. Sesshoumaru on the other hand had to bite his lips several times to keep from whimpering. “The signed document is up stairs with the rest of our stuff.. If you would like it I will get it after we eat.” Inu-No-Tasio nodded hi s head.

“Now that every one that will be helping is here, What are we going to do about Tasukie?” Inuyasha surprising every one spoke up. Kikyo sat beside him and even looked shocked. “What, just because I don’t show it I do have a brain.” Sesshoumaru and Kouga snickered at that. Inuyasha shot up out of his chair and pointed at the two. “What so funny assholes, I kick both your asses.”

“You will do no such thing, Inuyasha Sit down.” Inu-No-Tasio ordered.

Inuyasha slowly sat down at his fathers voice and Kikyo’s pulling on him sleeve. He fehed as he sat.

“The threat that Tasukie poses is the issue we must deal with, your petty augments can be taken care of later I am tired and wish to sleep so lets more this along.” Souta said in a calm but strained voice.

Every one looked at him no one expected him to be so out spoken about it. But every one agreed with him. “With Kouga’s death we now know that we need to train and get stronger because we can not be picked off like that.” Sesshoumaru said.

Kouga looked embarrassed to have died but no one held it against him. It was an act of rage and he paid for not stopping to think before acting.

Kagome the quietest of the group finally spoke up. “Not to be mean but face it Kouga is one of the weaker of the group. Him, Inuyasha, and Shippo are the weaker of the group, followed, Sorry, But followed by Souta, then Sesshoumaru and myself. Every one needs to train though I will not have another life lost to that bastard. There is something not right, so starting to morrow at dawn every one will be in the dojo and will spar against Sesshoumaru or myself then you’ll be placed with some one to train, some one stronger. I will not have another screw up.”

Every one nodded. Except Inuyasha, “Why dawn? Can’t we do it at noon?” He whined.
“No Inuyasha the sooner you train and get done the sooner you can go about your day but expect to train for about a month by then I want to make our move if he hasn’t done so already.” Inu-No-Tashio butted in. He knew that his son would have an issue with it but he would be firm and The boy would finally grow stronger. He had let him slack off to much in his youth and in 200 years his strength had not grown. Sesshoumaru continued to grow and even now he is stronger than him self but he would not dare challenge the alpha male of the pact. Inu-No-Tashio was their Sire and they respected it even though it had to be beaten into them a few times in there youth. But as they grew older they started to respect his authority… Well Sesshoumaru did any way.

“Excuse my Lord Inu-No-Tashio but are you planning on heading off against Tasukie as well? I mean we all know that you and he were great friends back in the day.” Kouga asked what every one was wondering.

Inu-No-Tashio Sighed he knew that should it come down to it he would have to make the choice, and if her endanger his pups grown or not, he would murderize them and not feel bad weather it were a friend or foe, he would protect that which was his to protect. Even if all of them were not blood pact he would still protect then any way he could be cause they were all loved and they care for one another so either way they kids had formed a larger pact then what Inu-No-Tashio started out with.

He looked around the table before answering. Each one was worth the risk, all of them were children to the years that he had lived and he would sit back and watch as there lives were on the line. He nodded, and he received a half smile from Kagome and a nod of acceptance from the guys.

Kikyo looked around, “Um… would any one mind if I joined in as well?”

Kagome looked shocked normally Kikyo came off and a snob and a spoiled bitch. But to offer her assistance when it was not her battle shocked every one including Inuyasha who was dating her.

Kagome was the first to recover, “One more miko would help out more than you know. I would greatly appreciate your help. I’m not one to kick the give horse if you know what I mean.” Kagome tried to joke but when she laughed it hurt so she stopped.

Sesshouamru looked at her because he noticed her sudden stop, he knew that she was in extreme pain and that he was the cause of it, his beast whined to care for her but at the present moment his own wounds were healing. Before Lunch he would be better but he had a feeling that she would take a bit longer. Even though she was a miko~demon she would have a difficult time because both sides would fight to heal her and it would result in it taking longer.

“Well now that, that is settle we should move on with our day you kids go back to school tomorrow so I want every one in bed early so that training tomorrow every one is up and not tired for school, eventually your bodies with get use to it.” Inu-No-Tasio stated as he watched at every one but Kagome, Souta, and Sesshoumaru moan out load.

Kagome and Sesshoumaru stood and went to walk to the door when Souta groaned and whispered, “Some one catch her.” Every one was confused but was soon filled in when Kagome begin her decent to the floor. Souta fell too but he was just immobile and unable to move where as Kagome was unconscious.

Inu-No-Tashio who was closest and heard Souta caught Kagome in his arms as she started her decent to meet the floor. His confusion rose when Souta too, met the floor. He looker to Sesshoumaru to shed some light on the fact and he could only see pain and a faint scent of blood coming from him.

Some how Sesshoumaru had been injured and Inu-No-Tashio wanted to know by whom and why. “Sesshoumaru after we place Kagome in bed you will come with me to the study.”

Souta who was now on his feet, shakily but on his feet with Inuyasha’s help said to the two Demons, “No let us go to her room and sit as she heals I shall explain with Sesshoumaru’s help on some parts.”

Sesshoumaru was confused how could Souta know what happened unless… Of course that is what the two were doing through out Breakfast, thy were talking telepathically to one another and that is why Souta knows what happened, but that doesn’t explain why he collapsed as well.

Inu-No-Tashio carried Kagome to their room, while Sesshoumaru lightly growled at the fact that another male was touching what was his. Every time the growls would get to loud Inu-No-Tashio looked back and shot him a death glare, Inu-No-Tashio had a feeling that Kagome being in this state had to do with Sesshoumaru and his injuries.

In the Demon Society to strike your mate or mate-to-be hell a female in general, human or not, was a crime and frowned upon, if he found out the Sesshoumaru had been abusing the girl Sesshoumaru would be in deep shit. He tough his sons to respect women, well at least to no hit in anger or as punishment. There were was to deal with them that did not involve violence like that.

When they reached the bedroom everyone piled into the room wanting to hear this explanation. Most sat on the floor, while Sesshoumaru stood against a wall and Souta was placed on the bed. He was sitting Indian style and held Kagome in his lap, Sesshoumaru growled lightly, but it didn’t escalate due to the fact that Souta was her little brother. He was her blood, unlike Kouga.

Souta settled into the pillows propped behind him and started to explain. “Kagome and Sesshoumaru decided to spar this morning to see which was stronger. Well Kagome and Sesshoumaru both took hard hits. Unfortunately for Kagome, Sesshoumaru happens to be stronger because she gave her energy to him last night, so he had the advantage to have a full tank so to speak where as Kagome had about half. The amount of energy Inu-No-Tashio gave last night was enough to save him and not heal him, he would have recuperated on him own, but Kagome gave up half her energy to help him. This morning she knew that she would take heavy hits so she took and place some of the pain on the closest blood relative to her. Which unfortunately for me, is me. The pain that Kagome suffered form the battle was enormous because of her low energy as it was.” He paused to make sure every one was still with him. Jaken and Inuyasha both looked confused but every one else was following.

Sesshoumaru had his head down, he felt horrible, now knowing the he injured his mate after she gave up so much to help him. His heart wanted to crumble knowing that he was the reason for her pain and no unconscious body. He was the reason she was this way, he felt lower than scum right now and it was eating him alive.

Souta and Inu-No-Tashio could feel the guilt coming off of Sesshoumaru, both knew that he had not a clue as the how bad off Kagome really was.

Souta looked around once more and continued. “When she receded into her self she was training and gaining back energy at the same time, she was in her own state or recovery, when Sesshoumaru entered her mind he stopped her recuperation so that he could challenge her strength. She excepted because he thought that to turn him down would dishonor herself as well as her mates challenge. So they fought and when you fight with in your mind, your mind makes it real for your body. Sesshoumaru and Kagome’s wounds were made by their minds. When Sesshoumaru started his onslaught on Kagome a part of her pain was transferred to me. Sesshoumaru and Kagome were interrupted by the power surge, or else one of them… probably Kagome would have been knocked out sooner. At breakfast when Kagome mentioned the Sesshoumaru was stronger she believes that because even at half power she was too weak to best you.” He said the last part as he finally caught Sesshoumaru eye.

“So you mean to tell me that Kagome is passed out because of a Mind battle between Sesshoumaru and Kagome, that happened when Kagome was trying to regenerate her strength?” Kikyo asked. She had been a miko for many year and had heard of these things happening but when she lost her virginity she lost the ability to progress in power. It would appear that Kagome and Sesshoumaru were not yet mates.

“Yes, bu Sesshoumaru is not to blame.” He said as he noticed that Inu-No-Tashio and Kouga both were going to jump on Sesshoumaru, “He could not have know that she was in a weakened state because she guard that well, her power level is rarely ever known. The only reason I know that she was half power today was because she told me at breakfast.” Souta said and gain a couple of strange looks.

“The two can speak telepathically.” Sesshoumaru came to Souta’s rescue. “Kagome has even talked to me that way before.” That earned a shocked look from Souta. Sesshoumaru raise and eyebrow at him.

“It’s just that only some one really close to Kagome would be able to hear her, I was no aware that the two of you were that close.” Souta blushed, he had meant both physical and emotional.

Inuyasha noticed his blush and caught on, “Oh yeah you should head them he has her constantly moaning like a whore.”

Sesshoumaru snarled at Inuyasha while Kikyo slapped him, but Sesshoumaru snarl awoke Kagome.

Souta leaned down and kissed her forhead, “No worried Anee-Chan, you are safe.” At hearing her brothers words she slipped back into a deep healing sleep.
