It had been a week since the battle, and you would have thought things would have gotten better. Celina sighed as she walked towards the library. To her things have gone from bad to worst, the Counsel demanded her brother find a mate. Her parents haven’t left the master bedroom in a week, and Sesshomaru ordered Tasshomaru to stand in his place while he took care of certain things.

Mya had left for the South to show her authority as leader, and Koga was supposed to go with her. Yet, at the request of Celina he stayed behind at the Western Palace, much to the dismay of Tasshomaru. To her great surprise, Koga since the battle had been keeping his distance, with only generic mutual conversations. It was driving Celina crazy, either the wolf cared for her or he didn’t.

Pushing the library door open she pushed all thoughts of Koga aside. It had been a week since that fateful day from hell and Kagome had finally called for InuYasha. One long week of no communication with Kagome almost had killed InuYasha. After all he had waited five hundred years for the woman.

“Uncle,” Celina called, InuYasha barely left the library since that day his world fell apart again.

One week ago

“Kagome!” InuYasha called, as he ran through the castle, jumping over bodies as he frantically searched for Kagome. His heart pounding in his ears, he could not find her anywhere within the castle, and the stench of blood stole any hope of smelling her scent. The strange part was no one was attacking him, the fight had to of ended only moments before.

“She isn’t here Uncle,” Celina replied as she entered the great hall InuYasha had been checking again for the fifth time. “Koga had Ginta and Hakkaku take Kagome, Shippo, and I out of the castle.”

“Where?” InuYasha demanded more then asked her.

“The woods,” Celina replied, wanting to get the conversation over so she could find Koga and give him a piece of her mind. “They should be returning shortly, go towards the west gate.”

“Thank you,” he said as he rushed like the wind towards his Kagome. The thought of her in danger enraged him. No one was allowed to harm her, once he found the idiot who dared attack them he would make them pay.

“InuYasha,” Kagome breathed as she approached the gate only to be swept into his arms.

“I’m glad you are alright,” he told her as he put her down and caressed her cheek. “I couldn’t take it if I found you only to lose you again. I love you.”

“We need to talk InuYasha,” Kagome replied as she pulled from his embrace. Ginta and Hakkaku went to go look for their leader and Shippo following them, leaving them alone for the moment. She sat down on a stump of an old tree and looked up at InuYasha. “Tell me what happened to Sango and Miroku.”

“They had the happy life they dreamed about after the jewel was whole again,” InuYasha replied. “Sango gave birth to five children, two girls and three boys. They rebuilt the slayer village, and ended their days in peace.”

“What of little Rin?” Kagome asked, avoiding the real issue growing in her mind.

“Taijina talked Sesshomaru into letting her go to the slayer village to find a mate a year after Tasshomaru was born,” he told her, sitting against a tree trunk across from her, his golden eyes never leaving hers. “On her journey there they came across a boy working in a field who looked familiar. It seems Kohaku didn’t die when Naraku took the jewel shard from him. His body used the power of the shard to heal his body over time. However, he had no memory of who he was. After being informed of who he was, Rin brought him with her to Sango.”

“Sango was reunited with her brother,” Kagome gasped as tears came to her eyes.

“Yes,” InuYasha sighed, as he remembered back to the feudal era. “Not long after Rin and Kohaku married and had three children of their own. Some of their descendants still live near by under the watchful eyes of Kilala and Jaken.”

“Jaken?!” Kagome asked a little shocked.

“It seems he was fond of Rin more then anyone realized and stayed with her at the village,” InuYasha informed her. “He comes to the palace to visit Sesshomaru sometimes, but normally he is traveling throughout Japan looking after her children’s children. Now are you going to say what you really want to?”

“Yes,” she stated as she took in a shaky breath, and looking down. “I need time to figure this out. I’m returning to my home, and I will contact you when I get this sorted out.”

“It’s your choice and I can’t stop you,” InuYasha replied, his ears flatting against his head. “Celina can tell you how to reach me.”

“Inu…” Kagome started, but as soon as she looked up he was gone. Standing up, she heard a twig snapped and turned to face a pissed off Celina.

“I guess you want to find Shippo and leave,” Celina sneered, she didn’t care if she would get in trouble for her behavior later. Her uncle had waited 500 years for this woman, and she just turns him down. “Well come on.”

“Celina,” Kagome started, shocked to hear the coldness in Celina’s voice. Wasn’t Celina the one who welcomed her to this place with so much kindness and now Kagome was hit with harsh words flowing from Celina’s mouth?

“Save it,” Celina growled, as she stormed towards the palace. Shippo was waiting for the near the main doors. Celina quickly set up for a car to take Kagome home, but first handed Kagome a slip of paper with a number on it. “It’s the phone number to the palace. Use it when that brain of yours starts working.”

“Thank…you.” Kagome sighed as Celina had already walked away. Her mind just needed a little time to straighten this all out. To morn the lose of her friends, who lived their lives and where happy. After all had she not try to prepare herself for this day? Knowing the well could close at anytime and it actually happening was just too different.

Kagome sat in her room thinking about InuYasha. The first two days of her time apart from him was crying over the lost of her friends. After that she couldn’t help but think o InuYasha, and it disappointed her. Shouldn’t she still be morning the lose of her friends more then just two days?!?!

“Kagome?” Shippo called over to his adoptive mother. Kagome looked over towards him and gave him a small smile. Taking this as permission to speak, he decided to tell her what was on his mind. “It’s okay not to be sad about Sango and Miroku because we know they lived happy and fulfilled lives. You know they would want that for you as well. So talk to InuYasha, not just for your happiness but InuYasha and mine. Neither of us can be happy when you look so sad.”

“Thank you Shippo,” Kagome called as she raced downstairs to the phone, pulling the number out of her pocket. Shippo told her exactly what she needed to hear and now she just needed to speak to InuYasha. It seemed like forever before someone picked up the other line. On the second ring Celina’s voice was heard over the phone. “Celina, I need to speak to him, please.” All she heard was a sigh, and then footsteps. Fear clung to her that she may be hung up on, and then she heard his voice. “I need to see you.”

The car ride had taken forever, and now Kagome was sitting face to face with InuYasha. Shippo had left with Ash after they arrived back at the Western Palace. Neither spoke nor moved, and then Kagome busted into tears and ran into InuYasha’s arms.

“I’m sorry I was being selfish,” she sobbed into his chest.

“Shh there is nothing to be sorry for,” InuYasha cooed, doing his best to comfort her as he rubbed her back. “You did nothing wrong. I should be the one apologizing for not telling you sooner of my feelings. I would have come for you sooner but since you never mentioned seeing me before in the past in the future I had to wait until the well sealed.”

“Where they really happy?” she hiccupped and stared into his eyes.

“Yes, and they made me promise to make you happy once I found you again,” he confessed. “Kagome become my mate?”

“Yes,” she shrieked, and jumped into his lap. Slamming her lips against his, she released a few tears of happiness. Meanwhile out in the hallway.

“YES!” Celina cried as she jumped into the air.

“Ease dropping again?” Tasshomaru snorted as Koga and he walked down the hall.

“I’ll have you know it is the best way to know what the hell is going on around her,” Celina shot back, defending herself. Her smile was still huge as she started walking down the hall with them away from the door. “Plus I just found out something good.”

“And what is that?” Tasshomaru asked, hiding the curiosity in his voice. Koga just shook his head at the siblings, fully knowing that Tasshomaru knew what Celina knew. After all they where in the room next door listening as well, they just wouldn’t inform Celina of that.

“I’m not telling,” Celina laughed as she stuck out her tongue, Koga laughed at her childlessness. A loud roar was then heard throughout the palace, shaking the very foundation. “Why do they torture us so?”

“Because they are our parents, whom decided they are madly in love with each other?” Tasshomaru groaned, as he tried to ignore the sounds they heard every now and then coming from the Western Lord’s room. “I need to make a final decision on a replace for Mya in the palace. Do me a favor and try not to cause any trouble Celina.”

“Cross my heart,” she replied in sing song tone as Tasshomaru left them alone.

“We need to talk,” Koga said, as soon as he knew Tasshomaru was out of hearing range.

“I have nothing more to say to you,” Celina growled, as she stormed away from him. Koga caught up to her easily and grabbed her arm to whip her around to face him. “Let go of me. You know what you have to do, but you refuse to. This isn‘t going to happen, so stop trying.”

“You want it as bad as me,” he purred into her ear, as he brought her close to him. He caressed he cheeks, and placed a chaste kiss upon her lips. “You’re losing the battle, and you know it.”
