Thawing Her Heart

I know I said I would be uploading two chapters but when I revised them they kind of jumbled together as one but hopefully one that is long enough for all my dear readers.













Inuyasha walked slowly down the hall towards where he knew his brothers study to be. He was still shaking inside from the rage he had felt when Kagome had described the nightmare that she had been through. He knew that the only way to calm himself down and actually assuage his own guilt for being a part of the problem that led to her trauma, was to talk it over with his aniki. When he reached the double doors he knocked hoping that his brother was not otherwise occupied.







Hearing the doors slide open he raised his eyes to those of his uncle's " I am sorry to interupt but is my aniki busy at the moment? I would really like to speak with him." Tasuki stood aside and motioned for Inuyasha to enter. " I think that is my cue to leave. You boys play nice or uncle may have to show you what being an old dog is all about!" With a chuckle the door closed behind him and Inuyasha turned to face his brother.





Taking a deep breath he decided that pushing through and using his brashness that he was known for he came right to the point. " It's my fault Kagome was demaned in your home..." he fel to his knees and hung his head, " Had I known or even paid attention to Kikyo I would have seen what that evil bitsh was up to and she never would have been attacked by Kotaru."





Sesshomaru's heart ached for his brother even though in a way he did have some bearing on what had happened to his mate-to-be, it wasn't his fault. " Inuyasha raise your head. I will tell you what she told me. 'The fault lies with Kotaru alone.' Yes you made some bad decisions but in a way I would have you change nothing becaus e then I would be the cold man you faced so many times. If nothing else that one traumatic event has put into motion that which should have happened before. The Inu clan will once again take to the fore and lead the group which destroys the evil which threatens our very existence. It will be as it should with my family by my side. Dry your tears my brother she would not have you cry for her, but instead lift your chin and be proud to know that she will soon be your sister."







Inuyasha read the truth in his brothers eyes, they truly had changed from the cold glass he had always known. They shown with a warmth and a love he never thought to see there again. In truth his brother was happy, something he had notr been for a long time.

Knowing this now Inuyasha could feel the pride swell in him to be known as part of this great family. No longer did he feel any sense of shame for being a half breed. He would stand tall and proud defending the back of his brother and his mate.







Standing his trademark crooked fanged grin made it's way upon his face, " So what are you planning and when do we leave?"
