Chapter Twenty-Five


Naraka stood a few yards from the front of the entrance of the city, a large smile on his face. This had turned out perfect, he'd been expecting to have to break the girl's spirit. Joy had filled him at finding her alone and heartbroken. Her tears had sounded like the sweetest melody to him. He wasted no time in starting the corruption of the jewel. He would let Kagome kill her friends and those that oppose him while he watched. Then after he would claim her for his own. He will be unstoppable with her at his side. No one will be strong enough to challenge him.

She stood beside him, he'd placed her in a black dress made of sheer silk. The front merely drapped over her shoulders to hang down in front. It gave him a good view of her cleavage, the cord at her waist showed off the flare of her hips. The material hung to her knees with slits up both sides to her hips. He dressed her appropiately, she would be their executioner. He knew Sesshoumaru would not allow any of the others to hurt her. Which would cause their downfall.

He felt excitement as the small group of people came rushing outside at sensing their arrival. He stood behind the girl with his arm wrapped around her throat. She stood perfectly still as he placed a hand on her stomach. The group of men stopped at the sight.

"Let her go." Sesshoumaru spoke first. His heart ached to see that lifeless expression on her face. The blue eyes that were once filled with life and fire were dull.

"I think not. Kagome and myself have come to an agreement. I ease all her pain and suffering and she becomes mine." He slid a hand to grab her thigh running his hand over her.

"Don't you touch her." Kurama yelled. Anger flared seeing the man paw her.

"I assure you she enjoys my touch. Don't you Kagome."

"Yes, Naraku." Her voice sounded empty.

"Will you kill them for me?"

"Yes." She took a step forward, her nails began to glow. With a sling of her hand, several bolts of energy shot out aiming directly for the group. They all moved out of the way.

"Kagome kill the Ruler of the Makai for me. Raise your energy so the others can't interefere."

"Bastard." Sesshoumaru stood there stunned. Naraku knew exactly how to manipulate the fight. None of them could interefere without getting killed themselves. And they wouldn't kill her from afar.

Kagome turned to Yomi and began to walk towards.

"Don't be a fool, kill her if it comes to it." Hiei yelled.

"No! Don't interefere, even if I die don't harm her." Yomi waited for her to approach. He jumped when she sent a blast in his direction. She was quicker than he would have thought. He dodged as she sent dozens of tiny blasts in his direction. He decided to try to talk to her. "Kagome." He called her name.

A blast hit his arm, he cried out in pain. Naraku decided to up the fun a bit. She left Yomi leaning over nursing his wounded arm. Naraku handed her a bow and some arrows.

"Get out of there Yomi," Kurama yelled.

"No."

She walked back over towards him, notching an arrow as she went. He stood still as she put him in her sights. Someone closed the distance, a fist slammed into her jaw knocking her backwards. Sesshoumaru pulled back his injured hand. "Get up, don't just stand there and die. She will withdraw further if she kills you."

"I'm suprised Sesshoumaru, does your hand pain you?" Naraku laughed at seeing the smoking fingers. "Pity she didn't do more damage."

Sesshoumaru crossed the distance between him and Naraku. Kagome suddenly appeared in front of him, she sent a blast straight at him. He was suddenly engulfed by light, the others screamed. Sesshoumaru landed a few feet away, he got up unharmed.

"Get the Tensiaga." Naraku ordered her.

"Kagome, snap out of it." Kurama yelled at her. He appeared before her, she notched her arrow aiming it right for his forehead. If she let go it would kill him in a fraction of a second.

"Kurama, don't be a fool. You can't break through to her." Hiei wasn't sure if he could sit here and watch his friend kill himself.

He looked straight at her, he had to try. "I love you Kagome." He thought he saw something for a split second enter her eyes then it was gone.

A portal opened up next to Yomi and Sesshoumaru, Koenma stepped out. "Are we too late? That can't be good." His eyes widened seeing Kurama with an arrow pointed to his head.

"Kill him, kill him now." Naraku shouted.

"Kagome." The voice was soft spoken but it reached her ears. Everyone turned to see someone new step out of the portal. He was dressed in red, long silver hair and two doggie ears on top his head.

Her hand started to shake, emotions flickering in her eyes. She gained control enough to speak. "Run, please." Kurama leapt back to land next to Yomi.

Naraku felt his hold starting to slip, damn Sesshoumaru. He had to have been behind this. "Kill them Kagome."

The young man took a few steps forward towards the girl. "Kagome, put it down."

Sesshoumaru looked over to the two men that watched. "If you two need someone to be jealous over you now have it." He watched as his brother took a step closer to her.

He continued to walk towards her.

"Careful, if she shots you it will destroy that body." Koenma informed him.

"She won't hurt me, will you Kagome." He smiled at her.

They watched as she fought for control, her hands began to shake violently. Tears streamed down her face.

Naraku yelled from behind her. "Do it, kill Inuyasha."

Kagome heard the name spoken and she screamed. Before they could move her hand pierced her side, her fingers closed around the jewel. She fell to her knees pulling the small ball out her body. It came out black, they watched as it started to glow a bright pink in her hand.

Naraku cursed his luck, if it hadn't been for Inuyasha interfering. He disappeared before their attention turned on him.

Kagome felt arms go around her pulling her close. "Inuyasha." Her arms went around him.

"Why the hell did you do that? You idiot." He picked her up as she held onto the jewel. "Sesshoumaru." He took her over to his brother.

He healed the small wound, "Hmm, was wondering what was taking so long. Late as usual brother."

"Shut up, blame the baby." He held onto the girl in his arms. He sat on the ground pulling her into his lap, he placed a hand on her face bringing her eyes up to meet his. "Kagome, my Kagome." He brought his mouth down on hers.
