"What the hell are you doing?"
"Why am I not suprised?" Kurama turned to see Koronue stepping into the room. He didn't look too happy either. "Calm yourself I'm not hurting her?"
"No? Have you ever?"
Kurama knew he had heard most of the conversation during dinner. If anything his friend had excellent hearing. So Koronue knew that he'd been seeing the girl and had also hit her. He wouldn't lie. "Yes." He could feel the anger coming from the bat. "I...I don't know where to begin. I've done a few things I'm not proud of. One of them is hurting her."
"What are you doing?" He looked down at the small vine resting in her flesh.
"I merely want her to answer a few questions. This way I will get the answers I need. I think we both need." He saw his friend's concern. "It will not harm her."
Koronue stood over him as he proceded. The fox felt the vine take root and began. "Kagome, can you hear me?"
"Yes," her mouth moved.
"Good, I'm going to ask you a few questions. Try to answer them as good as you can."
"Okay." It appeared that she was talking in her sleep.
"Now, we you able to use the well after the final battle with Naraku?"
"No, jumped in, nothing."
"So, you didn't travel back in time after that."
"Couldn't. Sealed."
He paused the next couple of questions were going to be personal.
"Kagome, why didn't you tell me or Koronue back then that you were from the future."
A smile crossed her face. "Wouldn't have believed me."
"Hnn. Kagome why were you with Koronue?"
"Don't understand."
He knew the answer might hurt his friend. "Did you use him to make Inuyasha jealous?"
"Never. Love him."
Kurama heard his friend's intake of breath but he felt like he'd been kicked in the chest. "Did you at anytime suspect that I was Youko while we were dating?"
"No."
"Would you have given yourself to me?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"In love with you." A smile crossed her face. "Even though you're an asshole."
He blushed. "Yes, well."
"Yes, well nothing. You jerk, you hit me." Her aura started to flare. Her anger was beginning to come through.
He quickly removed the vine. He stood up looking down at her sleeping face. He had his answers, ones he'd never thought he'd get. He'd suspected that she had feelings for his partner but not him. She had feelings for both of them, loved both of them.
"I guess its a good time to tell you two the rest of it." Hiei was at the door glaring at them. "Since you went out of your way to get the truth that way. Though I think you could have just asked her. But since you both want the truth, I'll tell you mine. It wasn't me."
"What do you mean?" Kurama looked at the small man.
"The day you fought with her, she asked for my help. After finding out that he supposedly died, she told me of the stone he'd been wearing. She had me take her to find it. She gave me her half and his, telling me what to do. So you can both thank his existence to her. All I did was carry her, which was payment in itself." He turned and walked out.
Kagome rolled over in the bed, burying her head in the pillow. Someone was talking, she tried to block it out. Wait was that Hiei? Why did her arm hurt? She slowly reached up and touched the sore area. It felt like someone had stabbed her with a pen. She felt the warm liquid, she brought her hand up to her face to be sure. Her fingers looked black, she could hardly see. Why was she bleeding?
Kurama turned when the girl sprang up in bed, obviously scared. He'd forgotten to close the small puncture wound caused by the vine. "Shit."
Kagome turned to see him standing there. Her eyes widened at seeing them both standing over her with intense looks. Fear gripped her. Without thinking she ran out the room.
