Chapter Twenty-Four

"Do as I say or I will order him to tear her apart." She turned to the girl hissing, "I'm willing to trade you for her. Or are you willing to stand there and watch your sister die?" The girl flinched under her question.

Kimi turned and saw Sesshomaru get back on his feet. He was going to try attacking them again. She wouldn't let her sister be killed for her. Seeing Sesshomaru as he tried to get to her confirmed that the demon loved her sister even if he didn't realise it himself yet. "Very well."

Kouga tightened his hold on her arm, "You aren't going anywhere. I'm not handing you over to him."

"It is not your decision to make. The choice is mine and I choose to go to him." She felt him drop his hand. "I will not let her die for me, she's my sister." She turned to look at him one last time. His face showed no emotion and he took a step back. A tear slid down her cheek, there was a good chance she'd never see him again. She took a few steps forward and placed a light kiss on his lips. "I love you." Then she was gone before his brain could register what she said.

Kimi ran to stand in front of the pixie behind the shield. "I'm here, now release her."

"Very well, release the girl." Michiko hit the ground and rolled over. From the time she was released till she hit the ground, was all it took for the water to consume her sister leaving only a ripple in the water. Kouga raced forward trying to find where they went.

Sesshomaru walked up to his woman and withdrew the Tenseiga; with one swift stroke her wound was healed. He bent down and picked her up in his arms. "You scared this Sesshomaru."

"Sorry, they took me by suprise. I think the bitch actually came out of the water."

"Kouga," Inuyasha grabbed the wolf by the shoulder. "Stop you aren't helping. You aint going to find her in there taking a swim."

"Fuck you, it wasn't your woman that was taken." She loved him and she was gone. He regretted not telling her how he felt and he wanted her back. "We've been looking for that bastard for days. How the hell are we going to find her now?"

"Simple," Kagome said and pointed to the north. "We follow Socks." Every one turned to see that the wolf was indeed missing.


Kimi felt the water wash over her. It consumed her, pulling her down into its depths. She felt herself being pulled out and yanked to the surface. Landing on her knees, she took deep breaths not having realised she'd been holding it the whole time. Strange but her clothes and hair were dry. The flutter of wings brought her head up and the little pixie was floating above her smirking. "Wipe that smile off your face or I'll remove it for you."

"Hmph," a voice came from the right of her. The cave was barely lit, being that the only light came from a small fire that blazed a few feet away. But she didn't need to see to know whom the voice belonged too. It had haunted her dreams and nightmares. She watched him walk into the light and got to her feet. Seeing him in person was far more terrifying. A chill ran along her spine causing her to shiver. Cold green eyes seemed to penetrate her soul. He began to stalk her as she backed up trying to put some distance in between them. "Why did you bring me here?"

"You belong to me, before this night is over I will claim you as my mate."

"I don't belong to you and I will die before I become your mate. You have a fucked up way of courting someone. Did you think by giving me constant nightmares would make me suddenly remember that I was suppose to love you in another life?" She stood her ground as he approached.

"I only visited your dreams once, no more. I know not of these nightmares which you speak of."

"Liar, don't you dare think of touching me. You may want me as your mate but I don't want you." At his raised brow she continued heedless of the costs. "I have choosen another for myself."

He closed the distance between them grabbing her hair bringing her face within mere inches of his. She couldn't have found someone else she wasn't marked. She was meant to be his, not any one else's. He smelt her neck and found no mark. He didn't stop there and continued to sniff his way down. When he got close to her abdomen he sensed it. The proof was there begining to grow deep within her womb. Someone had took what was his and spoiled her. He growled, "Who?"

"Go fuck yourself, I'm not telling you shit." She felt his hand land across her cheek causing her head to snap back. She met his gaze and spat in his eye.

He grabbed her arm twisting it behind her back. She felt her bone snap and cried out. "You will give me his name. Not like it will matter, you will still belong to me. He was foolish enough not to mark you. Which proves you were nothing but his whore. I will kill him and the child you carry." He hit her again across the face this time with a closed fist.

She felt his fist slam into her mouth before she hit the wall causing her to slam her head against the solid rock. She fell to the floor landing in a heap. 'Child, I'm carrying his child.' A sea of black swam before her eyes.

Kuroyama watched as she slid to the floor, he regretted not getting the name before she passed out. He walked over and picked her carrying her into the back.

Linaya watched as he carried the girl to lay her down almost carefully upon his bedding. "Master, I know who he is. As I took the girl she payed special attention to the wolf demon that was travelling with her. I'm sure he is the one that spoiled her. Shall I send someone after him?"

"No, this time I shall go. He will know death at my hands. Come Lin, I shall need your help." He turned to look at her one last time before exiting. It would be hours before she woke. By the time she woke, she would be free of the wolf demon and of the child she carried.


Kimi once again found herself waking to a warm sunny day. Instantly, she recognized the begining of her nightmare. Her body once again took its routine as it did everynight. An elderly gentleman walked by waving her a blessed morning. The small children were once again playing to her left. She felt her heart clinch as the first scream pierced the air. She turned to see the demons racing towards her home. Her feet took off sending her towards her death. 'No, not again.' But her body payed no attention it kept going. She felt her body go through the movements of notching a bow and bringing down the first of many demons. One after one she watched them fall knowing soon it would all end. 'Why am I watching all this again.' There standing before her was the last demon she would face. He stood in front of her. His long arms swung hitting the villagers as they tried to run for safety sending many of them to their deaths. She notched an arrow sending it straight into his side, slowing him down. She pulled another arrow out readying it to end the creature's life. She felt a sharp pain in her chest as she released the arrow. 'I'm dying,' the words echoed through her mind. She watched as her arrow hit its mark, between the creatures eyes. As her vision began to blur he fell to the ground. Then she saw it as he fell, standing behind him was HER. Almost too tiny to be seen as blackness claimed her.

Kimi woke up in a cold sweat, screaming. Her thoughts had began too slow as she remembered everything. The dream came back to her slowly and she knew the truth. 'I know nothing of these nightmares which you speak of,' he'd said. He said he'd only visited her dreams once, the night he had woken up her soul. She knew now that it had been her own soul causing the nightmares. It had been telling her who had killed her, warning her. For a split second she almost felt sorry for Kuroyama, all these years he had been blaiming others for taking away his love. When it had actually been the one person he'd trusted the most. Pain cut into her thoughts; making her remember her broken arm. She looked around and didn't see either of them in the cave. "She'd seen me kiss Kouga. Damn it all to hell." Getting to her feet without putting any weight on her injured arm she made her way to the front of the cave. How the hell was she going to find her way back to them? Her arm wasn't any use to her, her face hurt and she could feel blood still oozing out her scalp from when she hit the wall. She assumed she hadn't been out for too long. A howl was heard in the distance, she waited to see where it came from. Within minutes, Socks came bounding into her view. His tongue was hanging out as he rushed towards her. "Socks." Her faithful steed had found her somehow. She didn't give him time to object as she climbed on his back, wrapping her good arm around his back. "Boy, I need you to take me to Kouga and hurry." He took off careful as not to injure her further.


They had been following Socks scent for only twenty minutes when Sesshomaru stopped. "Stop, it would seem our search is over. The Lord of the Black Mountains is coming to greet us it would seem." He looked around to make sure they were in a place suitable enough for a battle. It was as good as they were going to get. Being up in the mountains they now stood on a ledge that was about fourty feet in diameter. He ordered Mich and Kagome to stand back out of the way.

The three waited for him to make his appearance and wasn't long in waiting. He appeared out of the snow and they got their first look at the demon they'd been hunting. His long red hair blew behind him in the wind announcing his approach. Even Sesshomaru felt a hint of fear as he came towards him. The Lord of the Western Lands was no fool, this exiled Lord had earned his name. His demonic power seemed to fill the air making him wonder at their chances. 'Heh, to think we actually believed he would want something as pety as that jewel. This demon has no need to enhance his powers.'

Kuroyama was the first speak, "Lord of the Western Lands, if you leave now I'd be willing to let you, the hanyou, and the humans go freely. If you do not leave now, I will kill you along with the wolf."

Kouga had been searching for any sign of Kimi paying no attention to the new arrival. He felt a strong wind blow down from the mountain bringing the dragon's scent along with hers. Then he smelt it, blood! The fucking bastard had hurt her. "You're going to die." He raced forward swinging at the demon.

Sesshomaru saw Kouga rush forward and knew why. He'd smelt it also along with the dragon's scent. He stood back not wanting to get in the wolf's way. The dragon easily dodged the attack and brought his arm down knocking the wolf several feet across the snow covered ground. Within minutes he knew the dragon would be too much for the wolf and took a step forward. A barrier met him stopping his progress. He growled and glanced up to see the little pixie smirking, "Bitch." He called to his brother, "Inuyasha."

"Yeah, yeah, I know if we don't get that barrier down quick Kouga's going to wind up dead." Inuyasha drew out Tetsusaiga and it transformed. He swung at the barrier and energy emerged from the blade striking the barrier. It vibrated but did not fall.

Inside the barrier Kouga stood up once more, 'Damn, this isn't going to be easy.' He charged again landing a punch this time across his face. It only stunned him for a minute before he grabbed the wolf by his shirt throwing him once again into the mountain side. 'I'm getting to be friend's with this wall real quick.' Thoughts of Kimi crossed his mind. He wouldn't lose, she was up there somewhere waiting for him. He stood and waited for the dragon to make the next move. He didn't wait long before a blast of energy shot towards him. He leapt in the air, smirking thinking the bastard had missed him. Something slammed into his chest sending him once again to say hello to his friend the mountain.

Before he could get up a hand grabbed him around his throat closing off the air to his lungs. Kuroyama knew that the wolf wouldn't be much of a challenge and was disappointed that it was already over. He tightened his hands squeezing off his air supply.


"I wish nothing but to ask you your name." He turned to see her standing there looking right at him.
