Jealousy is A Dangerous Thing


Inuyasha could smell his brother. But when he smelled Kagome's scent mixed with it he didn't know what to think. She was behind him so how could their scents be mixed. He stopped to wait for the rest of the gang. He saw Sango and Miroku with Shippou and Kirara but didn't see Kagome. That bastard must have kidnapped her again. "Sesshoumaru has Kagome. We have got to hurry." He watched them climb on Kirara when she changed into her demon form. They were close to him now. "They are just up ahead."

Sango shook her head. He really wanted this fight. Didn't he care at all about Kagome's feelings. She knew Kagome had feeling for Sesshoumaru. What she didn't know was how deep those feeling ran. Kagome herself didn't know. Kagome wanted to keep Inuyasha as a friend but if he kept up these insane fits of jealousy she was sure that he would ruin any chance of that happening.

Miroku stared after the red fleck that was Inuyasha. He didn't know if Inuyasha was genuinely upset that Sesshoumaru had Kagome or was he acting out of jealousy. He felt sorry for the hanyou. Scratch that he felt sorry for Kagome. For the last four years he had watched Inuyasha crush Kagome's spirit. Constantly going after his resurrected lover. Deserting Kagome on the field of battle to protect one that was already dead. The few times that Kagome had been injured was because Inuyasha left her to go to Kikyou. He understood Kagome's thoughts of wanting someone for herself. Someone who wouldn't compare her with someone else. She wanted someone who could care about her not who her soul once belonged too. Sesshoumaru would at least take care of her and make sure she was safe. He had the power and strength to defend her. If it was indeed Sesshoumaru that Kagome wanted he would help the girl who was like a sister to him. In any way necessary.

Inuyasha went to jump into a clearing that he saw from the tree tops. Suddenly he was flung away from the clearing. He flipped and landed away from the barrier. Luckily he didn't hit a tree or something. He walked to the barrier and drew Tetsusaiga "Kaze no Kizu" He watched the streaks of fire head to the barrier. He smirked that should break his baka brothers barrier. His smirk soon turned to a frown nothing happened. The barrier seemed to absorb the strike. He had never seen anything like that before. His brother must have learned something new. No matter he would break his barrier.

Sango watched Inuyasha fall back from the clearing. There must be a barrier and from the looks of it a strong one. She saw the barrier absorb the strike from the Tetsusaiga. She had never seen a barrier to do that before. Kirara landed behind Inuyasha and everyone got off her. They stood behind him and just watched the hanyou strike the barrier repeatedly. They were following Kagome's request. They would not interfere.

Inuyasha knew that Kirara had landed and yet Sango and Miroku were not helping him. "Aren't you all going to help?"

"Kagome asked that we not interfere. We are following her request. It is up to you to fight your brother alone Inuyasha." Miroku found a tree and sat down to watch.

"Feh, If you won't help rescue Kagome why are you still here?" He faced the barrier again. Some allies they were.

"Inuyasha are you sure that Kagome needs rescuing? She went after Sesshoumaru on her own." Shippou jumped back and ran behind Miroku when Inuyasha glared at him. One of these days I am going to have to learn to keep my mouth shut.

"Of course she wants rescued. Who would want to spend time with my brother. He doesn't have a personality. He is incapable of having feeling. The only reason he is bothering with Kagome is to use her to take Tetsusaiga away from me. Why else would he want her. He has no use for shards so he don't need her for that." Inuyasha jumped at the barrier.

The group watched as Inuyasha brought Tetsusaiga down once again to strike the barrier. But when he went to hit it the barrier disappeared. He managed to catch himself and landed with some grace. Inuyasha smiled at the rest of the group and rested Tetsusaiga on his shoulder. Everyone rose and followed him to the clearing. They had promised not to help him but that didn't mean they didn't want to watch.

Sesshoumaru was standing beside Kagome when Inuyasha walked into the clearing. "Welcome brother. I must say that I expected you earlier. You must be getting slower hanging around the corpse. Is she draining your energy?"

Inuyasha hadn't expected Kagome to be standing beside Sesshoumaru. She didn't try to run to him for once. He pointed Tetsusaiga at his brother. "Let Kagome go Sesshoumaru this is between me and you. I won't let you use Kagome to get Tetsusaiga. You will not harm her again."

Sesshoumaru grabbed Kagome and pulled her in front of him. He held his arm around her waist. He lowered his head to Kagomes ear. "Did I harm you Kagome?" He ran his tongue around the edge of her ear and Kagome couldn't stop the moan that came out of her mouth.

Kagome didn't expect Sesshoumaru to pull her up against him then whisper in her ear. But what really shocked her was when he ran his tongue around her ear.
"No you didn't harm me."

"See Inuyasha I didn't harm her." He turned Kagome loose and helped her sit on a stump that was near by.

Inuyasha watched his brother with Kagome. How dare he touch Kagome that way. "That's enough Sesshoumaru I don't know what you did to Kagome but she would never allow a killer such as you to touch her. I am going to make you pay."
He swung Tetsusaiga "Kaze no Kizu" The wind scar went straight for Sesshoumaru. He smiled when he saw the wind scar head for his brother but then he remembered that Kagome was behind his brother. He watched as it got closer to both of them. He couldn't stop it from hitting Kagome. What did he do?
