A Royal Pain

I fixed chapter 20 since Sango had told Sesshoumaru that Kagome was from a different time. I didn’t want to overlook that information so one part of Chapter 20 has been edited. Hopefully I won’t have to go back and do more. Still if any of you catch something let me know and I will fix it.

By the way, thanks for all your reviews and votes. It keeps me going when I am up until like midnight or later trying to come up with a new chapter cause as I said before, I make this all up as I go. I don’t pre write my stories. Thanks for your patience with me and I hope you all enjoy this story.

The escort had finally arrived at Lord Takeda’s castle. They had come with a Pegasus drawn carriage. Kagome was in awe of the two beautiful white horses with dove like wings.

“Kagome, don’t get too close to them. Pegasus’ are carnivorous and unless you are a virgin or their trainer they will not allow you to touch them.”

Sango warned as one of the Pegasus snorted and stomped the ground then looked at Kagome with bright red blood filled eyes.

Kagome stepped back and waited as the Inu demon regarded the humans. He was a tall man with long silver hair and golden eyes. He almost looked like Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru except his markings. There were three golden stripes on each of his cheeks and his hair was pulled up into a topknot. His armor was beautiful, even more beautiful than the Heron demon. It looked very similar to Lord Sesshoumaru’s except for the fact that there was another set of spikes on his other shoulder and he had two of those fluffy things on each side although they were not as large as Sesshoumaru’s.

“I am Banzan, your escort.”

Banzan bowed, but it was forced. He really disliked humans.

“I assume that you are the humans I am to take to Inu No Tashio’s castle. Where is the young fox demon?”

All of the humans bowed.

“Shippo is still training with the fox demons. He does not know of our whereabouts.”

Miroku stated as everyone regarded the demon. The demon pinched his nose as if a headache was coming on.

“I will send another escort to fetch him after you tell me the location of this village that you had been living in.”

Banzan could not believe the stupidity of this whole situation. Did they not know that making two trips would cause problems for him? Of course they were just stupid humans so what more could he expect? Why his Lord bothered with them was beyond his knowledge.

Opening the carriage Banzan held out his hand so that the two women could be seated inside and then waited for the monk with the three well dressed children to enter before he closed the door.

Lord Takeda waved goodbye as Banzan climbed up to the driver’s perch and gave the reigns a mighty snap as the two Pegasus flew into the sky traveling at a breakneck speed.

Kagome looked out the window as Lord Takeda’s castle became nothing more than a small dot. It was much like riding in an airplane except there was no turbulence.

Sango held Miroku’s hand as she sat with Kirara on her lap as the children sat on the floor of the beautiful white carriage that had silk seats and padded cushions. It was indeed made for a Lord or Lady of a castle.

“Kagome when we get to the castle you must remain silent unless one of these demons acknowledges you. We are considered below them in status even though you are married to Inuyasha. We do not want to upset their ways and until we know more about what is going on I do not wish to cause any disharmony.”

Kagome nodded.

“I just hope Inuyasha is there. I feel like we are going into the lion’s den and once in there we won’t be able to come out unscathed.”

Miroku stated since he was indeed uncertain about this whole thing. Going into a castle full of human hating demons was taxing even his nerves.

“Just let Miroku do most of the talking.”

Miroku squeezed his wife’s hand.

“I don’t know if my skills are up to par with the Inu nation, but I will do my best.”

Kagome smiled at Miroku.

“You have been able to convince Lord after Lord that they had a dark ominous cloud over their homes for years now. This shouldn’t be too difficult and I have faith in you.”

Kagome stated smiling at Miroku. Miroku sighed. He was pretty certain that the demons here would not go for his usual lines and considering he was a monk most of the demons would prefer not to have him in their presence since he did have quite formidable power in his skills as a monk in destroying demons.

“I wonder what took Banzan so long to come and get us.”

Kagome stated softly as they started to descend towards a mammoth castle that made Lord Takeda’s look like a dot in comparison.

As they gently landed onto the ground Kagome heard a tiny squeal as Rin raced over to the carriage to greet her favorite demon.

“Master Banzan, can I pet them today?”

Banzan got down from the perch and smiled at the little girl that his Lord seemed to love. He knew if he wasn’t anything but nice to the child his head would roll and Rin was a pleasant human.

“After the passengers are out, you may do so Rin.”

Rin smiled widely and rocked back and forth on her heels hoping it was Lady Kagome and the others from the village. She especially wanted to see Shippo since she really liked playing with him.

Banzan opened the carriage and Miroku came out then he took the twins out first. Then he helped his wife out who was holding their son.

Kagome was next as both men grasped her fingers so she would not fall.

Then Banzan closed the carriage and proceeded to take Rin’s hand and allow her to pet one of the flanks of the great white Pegasus as it whinnied a little.

“They are so soft.”

Rin stated in awe. After that Banzan shooed Rin back over to where the humans were standing.

“I will announce your arrival.”

Banzan stated as he coldly walked away from the humans.

Rin took the twins in each hand and had the group follow her. She knew exactly where Banzan was going.

“I am so pleased you are all here. It has been so quiet without Lord Sesshoumaru here. They say he will be arriving with lots of people so it is going to be a day or so until he comes back.”

Kagome, Sango, and Miroku were all shocked that Sesshoumaru would have an entourage following him since he seemed to be one to not do well in large groups, but that could be just concerning humans.

Kagome kept her hands tightly around tessaiga as they walked into a large spacious area where there were lines of Inu soldiers. As they reached the end of the hallway they were greeted by Banzan who abruptly finished his conversation with the current Lady of the Manor.

Rin whispered to them that this was Sesshoumaru’s Mother and that she was currently visiting.

Sesshoumaru’s Mother was a dainty beautiful woman, but none of the humans could tell if she was a friendly sort or not.

“Remember to keep that cursed hand to yourself husband. We are not at home.”

Miroku cringed since Sango did catch the fact that Miroku’s groping hand was waiting to pounce onto Sango’s ass just to prove his loyalty to her as it slid a bit from her lower back almost grazing his favorite part of his wife. Sango’s gorgeous ass.

“Well, at least you are all dressed appropriately. I had heard that you all were coming from a human Lord’s castle. I am assuming that you all know why you are here?”

Miroku bowed as did the others.

“My Lady, all we are aware of is that Sesshoumaru wants us here at his home.”

Tapping her fan to her lips Luna made an Hn sound that sounded much like her son.

“It seems my son enjoys toying with humans. He is indeed much like his Father. I had expected him home, not going off and getting mated to a hanyou, his half brother no less which is why you are all here.’
“Very well then.”

With a flick of her wrist the servants came and prostrated themselves at the Queen’s feet.

“Take these people to their rooms. Have them dressed and ready for supper. The little ones will go to the nursery. Rin, you will come with me.”

Rin bowed and followed Luna as the servants came to take the children ignoring the fussing as they were used to this from tired children.
