The Races

Chapter 25

Landing on the shores of Japan was sort of weird considering that they were all behind on time and it was dark instead of light out. Jaken met the group on the beach and the men loaded an exhausted Sesshoumaru into the back of the limo and then climbed in.

When they reached home they got home the put him in the outdoor court behind the house and Kagome went in search or Tashio, when they arrived Sesshoumaru was lain on the ground with his eyes closed. “What happened?”

Kagome stepped forward. “Sir he refused to take the plane home he had a nightmare saying it crashed and I died. She he insisted that we all be transported home in his energy orb, we tried to talk him out of it but he wouldn’t listen.” Inu-No-Tashio nodded his head.

Immediately he transformed, Sesshoumaru awoke at the sudden outburst of youkai, and transformed and growled lowly until he say it to be him father, then he whimpered and barred his neck showing his respect for his alpha male in the pack.

Inu-No-Tashio, slowly powered up and stepped close to Sesshoumaru. They lay side by side for several hours while Inu-No-Tashio slowly feed Sesshoumaru energy.

“Why do they have to do that?” Koug asked.

Surprising every one it was Inuyasha who spoke up. “He is giving Sesshoumaru enough energy to Keep him healthy, when our energy is depleted like that we get sick, be attacked, or be unaware while we are in a deep sleep and So Sesshoumaru is getting some of our sire’s energy to keep him healthy. I would have do it but I am not a full demon so I could not contribute like Father could, they are almost done.”

Every nodded and watched as Inu-No-Tashio transformed back and stood beside Sesshoumaru who was now asleep in his full demon form in the middle of the yard. Kagome smiled, he was so cute in that form that she by passed Inu-No-Tashio with a smile and walked to Sesshoumaru and ran her and through his fur.

Sesshoumaru briefly opened one red and blue eye, looked at Kagome and huffed, then went back sleep. Kagome could only giggle as she walked around the front of him and snuggled down into his front paws.

The guys all smiled as the watched Kagome stretch and yawn then snuggle into Sesshoumaru’s front paws. “Come they should rest together I can already feel Kagome feeding Sesshoumaru some of her power, and energy helping him recover faster.” Inu-No-Tasio said.

They all went inside and rested.
Kagome awoke at dawn just as she did every day. She stretched and took up meditating off to the side of Sesshoumaru who sometime in the night shifted back to his human form. He snuggled into her warmth and had an arm around her waist.

She smiled as she looked aver at him and rested on the ground next to him and began her meditation. Soon she was lost with in the world of her own mind and in a trance. She could not see or hear anything around her. This was her deepest sleep like state. She could sense every thing going on around her, she could sense the life forms awaking inside the house and the slow steady beat of Sesshoumaru’s heart. Inside her mind she trained with and exact replica of herself. They trained with swords, purification energy, and demonic powers, she trained this way to advance her powers and to learn her weaknesses and fix them.

Sesshouamru awoke to find Kagome sitting beside him and he smiles. He remembered her running her hands lovingly through his fur. He was vaguely aware of her presents as he slept, he knew she laid down with him in his true form. He was glad that she saw his true form and she was not freaked out or scared. He saw as her body twitch as she meditated. He wondered what she was doing. So he sat up beside her and delved into meditation, he grasped her hand and leapt into her mind.

Sesshomaru smirked as she found that Kagome was fighting with herself. The sight of her amused him, he sat on the mind created ground and watched as she kicked her own ass.

Soon she stopped as she killed her astro-self. She turned, “I am glad that you feel so free to invade my meditation and enjoy the show.”

Sesshouamru looked taken back until he saw the sparkle of mischief in her eyes. “You are quiet skilled you went easy on your brother.” Kagome nodded.

“He has felt inferior to myself, so hold back so that he doesn’t know that he is truly inferior to me. It would break his heart.” Kagome explained.

Sesshoumaru nodded, “Come I wish to have a try at it.”

“What enforcing mating rights?” Kagome asked.

‘This Sesshoumaru can not mate with a female if he is weaker, I must show your inner self that I am able to protect you. Not that I will not be superior to you, I have had centuries to hone and perfect my skills.” He said with a smug smirk.

Each took up opposite sides of the field, they bowed and Kagome immediately dropped into defense stance. She did not have the advantage to watch his battle strategy unlike him who had amble time to watch, observe and create a counter strategy. She was at her highest alert. He sprung and disappeared from sight to reappear where she had already placed a block with her arms as he swung with his legs. The force of the kick sent her sliding across the ground. Sesshoumaru landed. “You are much better than you let anyone know, you were well prepared for that attack. Perhaps, you will give me more of a challenge than I thought.”

Kagome smirked, “You must also remember that I have been sparring with myself since dawn, I am a bit tired.”

“Hn…” With that Sesshoumaru again lunged at her. Sesshoumaru kept up attacking until Finally Kagome has seen enough and launched her counter attacks. Sesshoumaru was a bit surprised when Kagome all of a sudden started to attack.

The power and force behind each attack both shocked and surprised Sesshoumaru, ‘How does one female have so much power with in her body.’ Being distracted Kagome got a kidney shot in on him, which anger him. ‘This sesshoumaru is not to be distracted by a female in battle nor will I be defeated by one.’ With that he pushed his youkai into his attacks which were gracefully deflected by Kagome and her holy powers.

Kagome knew that with out being a miko she would have died a lot sooner going against this demon. She also knew that he Holy powers alone were not going to win her this fight, so she pushed her youkai into the blasts and defense to strengthen them. She managed to push him around a little bit and give him a few volts of her miko power, causing ugly bruises to appear on his skin. They looked more like brush burns.

No matter how many times Kagome hit him he kept coming and never seemed to tire, fighting with herself had managed to tire her a bit, but she was determined to no giving into him that easily.

Sesshoumaru was getting frustrated with this fight, she would not give and had even managed to push him back. She was a lot better than he really suspected. To house so much energy in her body even after she fought her self not but a short time before. She was not giving so he decided to test her weaponry skills. He summoned his sword, Tokijin, and stood before her ready for her to make her next move.

Kagome watched as he drew his sword, She smirked he wanted her to draw her own weapon, but she would not. She could feel the demonic aura coming off the sword she knew that she would be able to defend her self with out a weapon.

Sesshoumaru was confused when she did not draw a sword but in stead motioned for him to come at her as she was. ‘Is she insane?’ He lunged at her any ways. He hands glowed a pink color as she used her hands to block his blows, the miko was slowly purifying his sword and he didn’t like it. He backed off and pushed some of his aura into the sword and took up charging her again. Still she blocked or caught all of him blows. ‘Dame her.’ was the only thought going through his mind as she once more caught a well planed and placed attack.

Kagome was tiring fast the amount of purification power she was using on the sword was tiring her farther, so she drew her new sword, the transformed Jewel. She clashed swords and soon noticed that Tokijin was corrupting the jewel so she abruptly switched, to her Sai’s. Soon her and Sesshouamru were once more dancing around exchanging blow for blow. Sesshoumaru was getting frustrated, until he saw that she had been distracted enough to look away.

Kagome looked away from Sesshoumaru at the feeling of a huge evil demonic aura building in the general direction of her mother’s house. “Sessh…” the wind was knocked out of her as sesshoumaru dealt a blow to the side of her ribs. The sudden pain forced her out of her meditation state and into the real world where she crouched forward and spit up blood. Just because the fight did not happen in reality her mind still portrayed it as really and she could feel every blow on her body, and most definitely the last one.

Sesshoumaru snapped to as she leaned forwarded and blood flowed from her mouth. “Oh my God Kagome, are you ok?”

“I’ll be fine.” She stood up holding her ribs. “Come on lets get to the house. She was limping and Sesshouamru could sense the damage that he had inflicted and he felt sorry and he watched her pull her self to the house.

He went to reach to help her and She flinched in pain as he touched her. “I am sorry, love.”

Kagome spun around and smiled, “It’s ok, really. You must be hurting I hit you so pretty good times.”

Sesshoumaru had pushed his pain into the back of his mind when he saw her pain. He really was pretty screwed up. He has purification burns all over him and once more his youkai was drained. She put up one hell of a fight. “What distracted you?”

She stopped and looked toward the direction her house was, “Can you not feel Him? He was done something to increase him power and if its what I think it is no one is going to get a chance to fight him I will kill him myself.” Kagome spat out with as much venom in her voice as any one could get out.

Sesshoumaru stayed quiet he was unsure what he could have done to increase his power but what ever it was it was not good for them.
