“Something bothering you, mate?” Sesshomaru asked as he walked over to her, only to be slapped a crossed the face by her.

“You let her have a slow and painless death!” Taijina roared, going for another slap, but found her wrist caught in his hand. “This is your entire fault. If you never suggested you stupid idea of a nap, I would not have been chained up as long as I have had been. Then instead of giving her the slow painful death she deserved, you let her off with just a beheading!”

“Are you done?” he asked monotone, as his lowered her still raised hand.

“Of course not!” she growled. “I have a good reason to be upset! You arrogant opf…”

He pressed his lips to her own, cutting off her words. The warmth made her anger slowly melt away as she leaned into the kiss.

“Will you two stop kissing and let’s go already!” InuYasha called over to them from the now open door. “I would like to get back to Kagome.”

“Remind me to kill him,” Taijina whispered as she pulled away from Sesshomaru.

“I might when you have your chance,” he whispered into her ear, while caressing her cheek, not wanting to let her go. “But you will be lucky if I let you leave our room once we get back.”

“Behave,” she purred, as the thought of what he was going to do to her sent shivers down her spine. An unwelcome cold chill swept down her spine, replacing her welcomed shivers. “No, we have to get back now!”

“In a rush all of a sudden?” Sesshomaru laughed, as she pulled him towards the door.

“Our daughter is in danger!” she growled pulling him towards the gruesome scene outside of warehouse. Body parts and blood puddles were everywhere, and three figures were standing in the middle of the mess.

“What is this all about?” Sesshomaru demanded, as he stopped her and turned her to face him. “Start explaining.”

“Do you realize who she was,” Taijina growled, as she smacks Sesshomaru’s hands away. “That was Miska, sister of the Lady of the North Mira. Also, mate of the Southern Lord Haimara. Our home is under attack!”

“Well that sent them into action,” Ash laughed as they watched the three retreating backs of the males as they ran towards their home. “Good job.”

“Stop being a smart ass!” Taijina roared, as she crossed her arms.

“Shall we follow?” Ash asked, trying not to laugh at the sulking Lady of the West.

“I hate you all,” Taijina muttered, as she ran after the Inu males.

“You think they are alright?” Celina voiced her fear to Kagome. They had been away from the palace for at least an hour now, and no word. Even Ginta and Hakkaku seemed on edge, which did not make Celina feel any calmer about the situation at hand.

“I’m sure Koga is all right,” Kagome replied, holding a sleeping Shippo in her arms. She smoothed his auburn hair as he shifted in his peaceful slumber. “It’s amazing how a child can sleep peacefully when all we can do is worry.”

“That’s the wonderment of being a child,” Celina sighed, as Ginta came back from scouting the palace once more. “Is the battle still on?”

“I’m not sure,” Ginta confessed, as Hakkaku came into view.

“Yeah, there was a lot of fighting and sounds of the battle,” Hakkaku told them, as he sat down. “Then there was an ear splitting roar, and then all went quiet. Almost as if the battle had stopped. Wait! Where are you going?”

“To find out what happened!” Celina called over her shoulder as she ran at breakneck speeds back towards the palace. She kept repeating repeatedly in her head everyone was fine. They had to be, just had to be. Mya and Koga and the rest of the guards had to of eliminated the traitor by now, or at least she hoped so.

She saw the protective outer walls, and was getting closer by the second. Reaching the gate, she stopped. There stood her mother and Ash, heading the opposite way. Letting out a small gasp she ran into the welcoming arms of her mother.

“Is there any end to these guys,” Koga growled, as he thrust his fist through a soldier’s chest.

“We have to take out the Lord,” Mya replied, punching a few more soldiers, her kendo stick broken in two on the floor. “Whoever kills the Lord become the rulers of the South and the guards will have to obey them.”

“Good idea,” Koga replied, as he pummels the guards nearest him. “Except for the fact he has yet to show himself. Any other bright ideas??”

“I could kick you ass and make a deal to get myself out of this alive,” she muttered, deciding to find the Southern Lord on her own. “I’m going to find him and kill him with or without your help!”

“Looking for me,” Haimara sneered as he entered the room. Mya charged at him only to have his hand wrap around her throat before she could strike. “Restrain the wolf.”

“Hey!” Koga growled as all the remaining soldiers jumped on top of him. He put up a great struggled, but in the end was pinned to the floor. Growling, he looked up from his humiliating position belly down on the floor, the soldiers holding him down.

“I expected a little more resistant from you,” Haimara growled at Mya. Her gray eyes glared into his green ones. “Rabbit Youkais are timid creatures and flee when danger approaches. You should learn something from your kind.”

“Fool of a panther Youkai!” Mya hissed at him, as she started to kick at him. Her bright pink hair was a mess, and she was covered in sweat and blood, but she refused to quit. The men sitting on Koga prepared to help their Lord, but they gave Koga the opportunity to try to escape their grasp. Koga saw his opening and two were dead before they even knew what hit them. The fight started once more, and Mya had freed her throat from the hand denying her air.

“You think you can beat me!” Haimara roared, as Mya turned and plunged a dagger into his chest. He let out an earth-shattering roar as Mya twisted the dagger ending his life.

“THE LORD IS DEAD!” Mya growled. All came to a stand still as they stared at the bright pink haired female. She had killed the Southern Lord, making her the new lord, well Lady of the South. The Southern soldiers stared at each other unsure of what to do.
